John Thomas Dye occupies 11 beautiful acres in Bel Air and feels very exclusive from the moment you drive up to the campus until the time the tour is over. Included in the application packet is an exquisitely detailed little map dont lose it because the school is quite difficult to find.At first I thought I had taken a wrong turn and stumbled upon an Arabian Horse farm enclosed by impeccably kept white split-rail fences. But, of course, I still had that little map clenched in my hand so eventually I made my way to the parking lot. The whole facility is gorgeous and generously laid out on the property with spectacular views. It is so removed from the chaos and smog of the city that it feels more like a vacation resort.The school began on the estate of the Dye family in 1949, so the buildings have a warm, homey feeling about them.
