O.K. so I attempted to be thrifty and went to one of those cheep salons for my color, What a mess! I was just trying to tighten up the purse strings because of the economy...... I was desperate to return to my beautiful shinny blonde highlights, that used to look natural! A friend slipped me Elizabeth's card, and said,"she is worth it, you will be very pleased, she has been coloring my hair for years." I had no idah, my friends hair looks like mine used to , beautiful and real, not fake! What did I have to loose? What a great experence, Elizabeth took her time, and colored and cut my hair with precise care. She is an experenced stylist,has taken class's from some of the best stylist all over the world. She is confident in her ability to make your hair beautiful too.

In addition to excellent service, her salon also has a special product line that keeps my hair top notch. She has been my stylist since I moved here 3 years ago, and I will keep coming back again and again.

Ellouise is a charming artsy hair salon. I love the ambiance of the salon, folks are very pleasant and welcoming.
Christy H has been cutting my hair for about 3 years and she is fantastic. I used to fly to my original hometown just to get a hair cut until I found Christy. She's a beautiful person, inside and out and is very good at what she does.

I have recieved hair service from both of these Fine fine women, over the last 18years. Most recently, I was in one of their homes getting a trim! It was FanTastic!

Just a few snips and away I went so utterly pleased and content with my experience. I will continue to travel the 300+ miles to get my bi-monthly Hair experience from these 2 women!

Out Standing attention to detail, remarkable wit & shameless Humor!!! Highly recommend this Salon for ANY hair type!!!

christy has chopped me up from classic long to funky short for over three years. she listens and is charmingly honest.
her cuts are precise with a loose style that complements your features. this makes each style unique. any curious changes, she'll make subtle cuts and/or color that help show what the style may look like. and to see if you're ready. curious changes are sassy and fun. do it.
i dig my short hair now and love the way it grows - it's all in the cut.
every visit is good hair and good talks.

A friend of mine had been to Ellouise and was very pleased with her hair. So being new to the area I thought I'd look on Citysearch and see what their reviews were like. I made an appointment with Stacey for color and cut. I wanted blonde highlights and a fresh new cut. Stacey took her time with me, the conversation was good, and I love love loved the end result my hair!! The color was exactly what I wanted and her ideas for the cut were in sync with what I had a vision of. Her prices are very reasonable and the salon is very cute!! Elizabeth is my hair angel! Over a year ago I went to well known west side salon, the stylist did not deliver what he promised, nor what I had asked for. I had spent well over $400.00, and shed a million tears! My virgin carmel colored locks turned the shade of a banana and my once lusious mane felt more like pick up sticks. That's when Elizabeth stepped in to rescue me and my hair. She assured me that, no, I would't have to cut off all of my length and, yes, I could return to a color that didn't resemble a ripe piece of fruit. She has been cutting, coloring and conditioning my hair ever sence, and I absolutly love her work! Her prices are very fair...half of what it costs on the west side, and I don't have to make that drive! If you are looking to switch stylists, I highly recommend her. She is not easy to get an appointment with because she is in demand. She is not only an incredibly talented stylist who is a master of the craft, but also a gorgeous and bright woman who listens and cares for my hair so lovingly.

I was under the impression that to have your hair done right you have to drive to the west side and pay a weeks worth of salary, boy was I wrong. Due to our "economic situation" My husband had me reevaluate my "Splurges" as he called them. But we all know hair is a necessity. I wasn't looking for something new just someone closer and less expensive to keep my grey at bay. Christy was a perfect fit. She matched my color perfectly and had after work hours so I wouldn't have to take a "long lunch". I was so pleased as I bounced out of the salon, I had saved about a hundred bucks so I took myself out to lunch. I only wish I had found her sooner.

Ellouise Thank you!! I went in and got my hair done. Color and cut. My appointment was with Stacee. She is AMAZING with color. My hair was really boring..I havent colored it since 2007. I wanted a fresh new look for the holidays. I have a few Christmas Parties and family get together's and I felt it was time for a "change". She took her time with me, listened to what I wanted, and the end result was great!!! I highly recommend Stacee to anyone looking for a great stylist. I went in to Ellouise for highlights and a trim and i love it!!!!! My color turned out beautiful.
Stacee took her time with me..I felt very comfortable and the salon is beautiful!! They were in between artists so no art was hanging but the energy in general was very soothing! I highly recommend trying Ellouise.
I will surely be seeing Stacee again! ! !

My friend refered me to Stacee at Ellouise after she went in for a haircut. I went in about a week ago and i LOVE my hair. Its always nerve wracking when you go to a new stylist because you dont know if your actually going to get the picture in your head you want to see. haha. BUT I DID! Stacee was amazing. I told her what I wanted..she gave me some ideas and then ran with it and I couldnt be more happy! My cut was good too..just the basic long layered haircut. but i will defintley be going back to see Stacee. Hope this helps someone.. :)

Christy has been my doing my hair for over 8 years now and i could not be happier. She listens to my every detail when i'm picky and gives me the perfect 'do' when i'm feeling spontaneous and say 'do whatever the hell you want, just make me pretty again!' I just adore this woman and look forward to my appointments. My only complaint is people have caught on to my secret and now she's always booked. But she always squeezes me in and makes me feel like i'm the only thing that matters when i'm in her chair. So this is my THANK YOU TO CHRISTY, letting world know how much i love her=)

PEOPLE WITH FINE OR COLORED HAIR GO TO STACIE... I was new in town and had some one burn my hair and scalp so bad my hair was falling out. If you are new in town and are looking for a hair dresser you can trust you must try Stacie at Ellouisa! She saved my hair and is an amazing artist, very very talented. She grew up around hair dressers and has a natural talent and passion for hair. She had all the time in the world for me, I love my hair and I hope this helps someone new in town. Stacie is amazing!

Ive always had long hair. One length, very straight and simple. I wanted to jazz it up a little bit and went in to Ellouise and met with Stacee. I told her not to much off the length and I'd like some long layers. She gave me a phenominal cut. I love it!!! Great conversation and the salons ambience is wonderful!! You wont be dissapointed.

After reading reviews on this site I decided to take a chance and try the salon. I made an appointment with Christy and after having a few minutes to chat she suggested that her colleague Sandie was better with short wavy hair like mine. That's never happened to me ever. Sandie and I talked about what I wanted and her vision for my hair. I felt absolutely comfortable that she knew her stuff. I left feeling that my new coif matched my personality. Sandie cut my hair very short but it's shaped well and I got several compliments on my new 'do at work. She gave me exactly what I was looking for a no mess no fuss hair cut.

I made an appointment with Stacee to get my hair colored and cut. I went in and we chatted about what might be the best "look" for me. I wanted something low maintenace..having kids it isnt that easy getting around to do my hair every morning. She gave me probably one of the best haircuts of my life!! I couldnt of asked for a better stylist..young..great conversation..her whole vibe was excellent. On to the color i had a drab blonde going on..with dark roots. Stacee gave me highlights and it totally gave my hair this sun kissed blonde look..and i love it. Thumbs up for Ellouise and stacee!!! :)

I have tricky hair. It is fine, if you don't know what you're doing, my hair ends up looking like wood chips gone wrong. I went to Sandi at Ellouise , she said she would do the first part of the cut wet, and finish dry. Her exact words were "it's like topiary, I sculpt the cut until it lays perfectly without you having to fight it when you style it." I was a little skeptical ----I shouldn't have been. She's really good and should have as many bragging rights as she wants. The best, is that when I went to style it myself it looked just as good. I am happy and I bet you will be too. Go see Sandi

I moved to the LA area about 6 months ago and I've been trying to find a good stylist. Ive been to a few different salons all around LA..hollywood..santa monica..etc. A friend told me she's been going to Ellouise for a while now and has never had a bad experience...so i thought..okay i'll make an appointment. and im so glad I did!!!! Stacee was wonderful. MY color turned out fabulous and the cut as well!! Considering my last salon experience left me very unsatisied it was refreshing to have a stylist actually listen to what you want and also give advice on what she thinks would be best for you. Also she has a great energy and the conversation was good and her prices are very reasonable!! I'll be seeing her again in the future!!! =)

I have been a customer of Sandi's since 1992 and there's a reason: she's never let me down. She's made me short, long, and everything in between; she's made me a platinum blonde and dark violet. A friend of mine who is also a longtime client of Sandi's, used to model professionally and got her hair cut by big names like Brad Johns, and reported that none of them ever held a candle to Sandi.

I remain loyal to Sandi because she is always sure-- I can walk in with a specific idea and trust that she will know exactly how to execute, but I also know I can arrive totally clueless and she'll listen to me flail around and then come up with something snappy that I love. Such is the nature of our long-standing relationship, but I am sure that she approaches her new clients with the same amount of care and imagination.

Go. There's always great music and cucumber water, and someone who really likes turning out ridiculously amazing pies and cobblers and madeleines drops by on the weekends, so there is free dessert, too!

I was looking for a stylist that I would be comfortable with and who would listen to my needs. I am extremely glad that I found Christine and won?t go to anyone else! She listened to everything I said and made suggestions when appropriate. Her extensive experience with color is apparent when coloring my hair and I am always happy with the results. She has a great understanding of what works well for me and I am happy to hear all of her suggestions. Her pricing is very reasonable and competitive. Thank you for all the wonderful work!

I was looking for a salon with someone i would be comfortable with. Its a great enviornment. The salon is very artsy and has a great feel. Very clean and personable. I went in wanting a "new look". Christie dyed my hair back to natural light brown and it was so perfect I can't tell where her color starts

THE WHOLE STORY:

I had hair that was dyed black on the left and platinum on the right and I had 3 inches of my natural light brown roots. I'd developed a color allergy so no more funny colors for me. I went to Christie and she got the black out enough and filled the platinum enough that after she put the color on I COULDN'T TELL WHERE HER COLOR BEGAN. I thought after 6 weeks of washes I'd need to go back to get a touch up but I never did! NO TOUCH UP! All this while being super careful not to get it on my skin because of the allergy. I never had to color my hair again.

The shape of her haircuts last me soooo long. I love her company, she's a fun person to spend a few hours with, she's young and hip and her prices are totally fair (reasonable). I can't recommend her highly enough. The salon is nice too.

I've had several hair cuts and color/highlights with Elizabeth at Ellouise during the past two years and have been thrilled with the results each time! Elizabeth has years of experience as a stylist, a great eye for art and design, and a remarkable understanding of what truly "works" for me. I went to her with a botched head of hair following a color/cut disaster and she has wonderfully restored my hair back to both health and style. She makes fabulous hair styling look easy and has been the answer to my make-me-look-incredible prayers! I highly recommend both Elizabeth and Ellouise salon!

I have been to Ellouise several times and have always had a great experience. They are definitely equipped for whatever you need...they have a very qualified group of stylists. I tried Ellouise for the usual hair cut and blowdry and have been very happy with the results. Eventually, I tried the Japanese hair treatment for my curly hair...Ofelia is the stylists that has experience in this treatment and I have to say, I was "overjoyed" at the results. I have since had the treatment twice more and I am still as amazed as the first time at how gentle it is on your hair and the results are amazing!!!

i've been to ellouise 3 times now, and every time i get a great cut. i've only seen elizabeth and she's wonderful. she listens to what you want, chats with you (but not too much if you don't feel like talking), and is a very sweet person. the price there in general is a bit on the expensive side so i don't go too often, but when i want a good cut or a drastic change, this is my new favorite spot.

Ellouise is definitely a salon to try -- especially if you have hair that is manageable, and easy to care for, and all stylists would likely give you a good cut or color. However, I've had mixed results, and have been to two stylists (i will admit, my hair is very straight and is not the easiest to work with!) The first haircut, with Elizabeth, was definitely one of the best, if not the best, haircut I ever had. However a second and third time were disappointing -- especially since the second time, when I was obviously disappointed, there was resistance to try to make any better. Contrary to people coming to me and saying what a geat cut, people actually said, please get your haircut and don't ever do that "style" again. But, I tried again, and this third time, the cut is OK -- not great, but not bad, going in the right direction, and the stylist was very willing to try to make better - so that is good. I'm giving all another try -- sometime it just takes time to get into the "groove" - but my jury is still out. And, yes, the people, ambiance, are the best -- even the bit of massage you get with the shampoo shows they are going the extra mile to make you feel special and welcome. I'm optimistic and hopeful with another try I'll get a great cut and continue to go.

I have enough hair for three people , and it's long. Stylists usually groan when they see me coming. I had seen this beautiful space and wondered what it was , as it does not look or feel like the normal salon. This is a huge open loft so you don't feel like everything you say is going to be heard by everyone in the shop. I made an appt with Sandi which I later found out was the owner. Not only did she do a beautiful tricolor job on my hair she also cut and flat ironed it. She did all this masterfully and the best was it was done quickly . I didn't feel like I had spent the whole day there. Which by the way wouldn'nt be the worst thing that could happen. Another thing I enjoyed was that the people who worked there seemed to like each other. The whole expierence was pleasant . I will be back.

Yes, I was like you surfing cs to find a stylist. Although I must admit I was afraid to follow through and try someone reccomended with out seeing the work. I sure am glad I did. Elizabeth gave me the blonde hilights I have been wanting for years and never getting. She used 3 bowls of blonde color. The color looks natural blending perfectly. She took her time drying my curly hair streight but full and beautiful. I've gotton a complement on my hair now everyday this week, thats why I am writing a review. Elizabeth is great.

Ofelia Pastor is my beautician. She is warm and friendly, and listens carefully to my requests, following up with excellent results. She offers creative suggestions and is versatile and flexible in her work. Her coloring, haircuts and styling are superior, creative and unique. Dude's,
Don't think for a minute that this salon only caters to women. There is a stylist named Vanessa that cuts there. But she dosen't just cut! She gave the best shampoo I have ever had. She almost put me to sleep with the scalp massage . I have been to several salons in the past because I really don't have a regular stylist and this one I must say is a keeper, not to mention the non intimidating layed back environment.
Another cool thing is that I was able to buy my wife a nice piece of jewelry on my way out.
If you Dudes want a great cut go see Vanessa!!!

I went because I just moved back from New York and thought it sounded great. The owner Sandie did my blonde hair. Frankly, it was mediocre at best - I was extremely specific with her, I had pictures, my own mix for what is normally put on my hair, you name it... While she listened, she left me sitting under the dryer and removed all my foils at once - I was specific that you can not do that with my hair, but she was too busy to notice. She also ran extremely late and for being a first time client, it was an unnerving feeling.. Last, a young girl tried to dry my hair for 30 minutes - it was so frizzy and poorly done that I stopped her half way through and ran out.. I'm sure loads of people will still go, but I've lived in 6 cities, and I can assure you this place is just average...

The kind of style that speaks professional and parden the only word I could come up to discribe it Hip, when I see my clients. My friend had been telling me about Ellouise for a while. Yeah Yeah there all pretty much the same I thought. I've been around and seen them all. Not so. Ellouise is like nothing I've ever seen before not here not New York, not London. I have been getting my hair cut by Sandi for several years now. I went prematurly grey very young. I was lucky as my grey was silver and I liked the novilty of it. Until I turned 39 and felt like it made me look 50. "Lets s color it ." I said, and Sandi went to work. Lets just say I went in looking 50 and left looking 30. Ladys and gentlemen its cheaper than a face lift and I feel like I have been reborn. It is a natural and beautiful red. It enhances my curls. I couldn't be happier. Sandi you are magnifico! Bravo

I went to city search and read reviews. Ellouise sounded to good to be true. I have never heard so much praise from customers. Why not I thought. So I made an appointment with the owner Sandi who has been doing hair for a long time. She is as gracious as she is competent. She asked me about my lifestyle, work , interests etc to better make a judgment on the kind of cut and style I would be comfortable with. Can I just say that was a new expierence. And she delivered. I love the cut and I could do it on my own at home , easy.........Go see Sandi , you won't regret it. P.S. I went back for color. My hair is beautiful.

Well I had really gone and done it this time. I had colored my own hair. In the light it had a green sheen. Not good. My students thought it was funny. Normally I have a great since of humor, but not about my hair. One of the girls in my summer class, being computer savey suggested city search. I was desperate and took her suggestion. I wanted expeirence, no time to fool around with this mess so I asked for the owner. Sandi was professional ,(she didn't laugh) and went right to work . First she took my hair back to its natural color without damaging it. To spruce me up for the summer Sandi added some highlights. My hair looks fantastic and my students agree. I saw a gal with the most beautiful healthy blonde hilighted hair (just what I have been looking for for myself) but no stylist had given it to me yet. I can not express how happy I am to have found Christy at Ellouise Salon! I just got my haircut this weekend, and I now have beautiful soft layers and a side-part that I used to dream of having! First of all, Christy fit me into her busy Saturday schedule, and she made me feel so welcomed and comfortable. She attentively listened to exactly what I wanted, while also offering excellent suggestions for my face shape, style, and low-maintenance lifestyle. I could tell that she knew exactly what she was talking about, so I felt extremely confident sitting in her chair! I had never let anyone blowdry my hair because I didn't trust anyone, but I let Christy style and blowdry my hair, and WOW. I love love love it and have received compliments already! My search for the perfect stylist is now over. I will always and only go to Christy, and I highly recommend her to anyone. I needed a change, I had been with my stylist for ten years. I am a proffessional woman, who colors her hair, I've had the same color and cut for all these years. Finding Ellouise salon on city search with such high ratings I decided to give it a shot. I got lucky, Elizabeth, an experenced, stylist with a sweet and gentle disposition gave me a beautiful cut and base color with stunning hilights. Elizabeth took her time with me, I did not feel like she rushed to her next appointment, it was all about me! Believe me, I am so glad I took the chance to try someone new, I highly reccommend her.

I have had quite a few hair disasters over the years and I have been quite skeptical and scared of going to any salons lately. I am a licensed cosmetologist and it's always harder for me to find a stylist that I like. Christy gave me exactly what I wanted, and then some! She's a great stylist who listens to exactly what you want, easy to talk to, and is intent on getting you want you want. My numerous hair disasters have finally ended!

O.K. How have I missed this salon for so long. It has been in Pasadena sheltered from the roaring crowds. I found Sandi because I saw a haircut on a women at Macys that stopped me in my tracks. I was afraid she was going to tell me she had it done on the west side but she mentioned Ellouise on Waverly across the street from Kelly Paper in the coolest loft I've ever seen. So I called , made an appt. with Sandi . The cut was done so well it practically styles itself in the morning. No hairs flipping up where I don't want them to. She added some color too. The whole expierence was perfect. I carry cards with me , because now people stop and ask me where I got my great cut from. Sandi your fabulous.

New to Pasadena, I found Elizabeth on citysearch. I totally lucked out! Her work is great, I love the natural looking blonde highlights and beautiful cut she gave me. I walked in with overly colored blonde hair, I was tired of it looking like straw. Elizabeth used 3 different shades of blonde, paying close attention to detail. She then cut my long hair, {leaving it long} in a hip style, that showed off my new color. She is fun to talk with, and the time just flew by. I never had a stylist like her before, she is great
