O.K. so I attempted to be thrifty and went to one of those cheep salons for my color, What a mess! I was just trying to tighten up the purse strings because of the economy...... I was desperate to return to my beautiful shinny blonde highlights, that used to look natural! A friend slipped me Elizabeth's card, and said,"she is worth it, you will be very pleased, she has been coloring my hair for years." I had no idah, my friends hair looks like mine used to , beautiful and real, not fake! What did I have to loose? What a great experence, Elizabeth took her time, and colored and cut my hair with precise care. She is an experenced stylist,has taken class's from some of the best stylist all over the world. She is confident in her ability to make your hair beautiful too.

I love Sandi, and so does my hair :), she has excellent style and so wonderful to be around as well. In addition to excellent service, her salon also has a special product line that keeps my hair top notch. She has been my stylist since I moved here 3 years ago, and I will keep coming back again and again.

Ellouise is a charming artsy hair salon. I love the ambiance of the salon, folks are very pleasant and welcoming.
Christy H has been cutting my hair for about 3 years and she is fantastic. I used to fly to my original hometown just to get a hair cut until I found Christy. She's a beautiful person, inside and out and is very good at what she does.

I have recieved hair service from both of these Fine fine women, over the last 18years. Most recently, I was in one of their homes getting a trim! It was FanTastic!

Just a few snips and away I went so utterly pleased and content with my experience. I will continue to travel the 300+ miles to get my bi-monthly Hair experience from these 2 women!

Out Standing attention to detail, remarkable wit & shameless Humor!!! Highly recommend this Salon for ANY hair type!!!

christy has chopped me up from classic long to funky short for over three years. she listens and is charmingly honest.
her cuts are precise with a loose style that complements your features. this makes each style unique. any curious changes, she'll make subtle cuts and/or color that help show what the style may look like. and to see if you're ready. curious changes are sassy and fun. do it.
i dig my short hair now and love the way it grows - it's all in the cut.
every visit is good hair and good talks.

A friend of mine had been to Ellouise and was very pleased with her hair. So being new to the area I thought I'd look on Citysearch and see what their reviews were like. I made an appointment with Stacey for color and cut. I wanted blonde highlights and a fresh new cut. Stacey took her time with me, the conversation was good, and I love love loved the end result my hair!! The color was exactly what I wanted and her ideas for the cut were in sync with what I had a vision of. Her prices are very reasonable and the salon is very cute!! Hope this helps anyone looking for a new hair stylist!! Stacey wont let you down :)

Elizabeth is my hair angel! Over a year ago I went to well known west side salon, the stylist did not deliver what he promised, nor what I had asked for. I had spent well over $400.00, and shed a million tears! My virgin carmel colored locks turned the shade of a banana and my once lusious mane felt more like pick up sticks. That's when Elizabeth stepped in to rescue me and my hair. She assured me that, no, I would't have to cut off all of my length and, yes, I could return to a color that didn't resemble a ripe piece of fruit. She has been cutting, coloring and conditioning my hair ever sence, and I absolutly love her work! Her prices are very fair...half of what it costs on the west side, and I don't have to make that drive! If you are looking to switch stylists, I highly recommend her. She is not easy to get an appointment with because she is in demand. She is not only an incredibly talented stylist who is a master of the craft, but also a gorgeous and bright woman who listens and cares for my hair so lovingly.

I was under the impression that to have your hair done right you have to drive to the west side and pay a weeks worth of salary, boy was I wrong. Due to our "economic situation" My husband had me reevaluate my "Splurges" as he called them. But we all know hair is a necessity. I wasn't looking for something new just someone closer and less expensive to keep my grey at bay. Christy was a perfect fit. She matched my color perfectly and had after work hours so I wouldn't have to take a "long lunch". I was so pleased as I bounced out of the salon, I had saved about a hundred bucks so I took myself out to lunch. I only wish I had found her sooner.

Ellouise Thank you!! I went in and got my hair done. Color and cut. My appointment was with Stacee. She is AMAZING with color. My hair was really boring..I havent colored it since 2007. I wanted a fresh new look for the holidays. I have a few Christmas Parties and family get together's and I felt it was time for a "change". She took her time with me, listened to what I wanted, and the end result was great!!! I highly recommend Stacee to anyone looking for a great stylist. The conversation was good and the Salon is fabulous!!! I hope this review helps someone!!

I went in to Ellouise for highlights and a trim and i love it!!!!! My color turned out beautiful.
Stacee took her time with me..I felt very comfortable and the salon is beautiful!! They were in between artists so no art was hanging but the energy in general was very soothing! I highly recommend trying Ellouise.
I will surely be seeing Stacee again! ! !

My friend refered me to Stacee at Ellouise after she went in for a haircut. I went in about a week ago and i LOVE my hair. Its always nerve wracking when you go to a new stylist because you dont know if your actually going to get the picture in your head you want to see. haha. BUT I DID! Stacee was amazing. I told her what I wanted..she gave me some ideas and then ran with it and I couldnt be more happy! My cut was good too..just the basic long layered haircut. but i will defintley be going back to see Stacee. Hope this helps someone.. :)

Christy has been my doing my hair for over 8 years now and i could not be happier. She listens to my every detail when i'm picky and gives me the perfect 'do' when i'm feeling spontaneous and say 'do whatever the hell you want, just make me pretty again!' I just adore this woman and look forward to my appointments. My only complaint is people have caught on to my secret and now she's always booked. But she always squeezes me in and makes me feel like i'm the only thing that matters when i'm in her chair. So this is my THANK YOU TO CHRISTY, letting world know how much i love her=)

PEOPLE WITH FINE OR COLORED HAIR GO TO STACIE... I was new in town and had some one burn my hair and scalp so bad my hair was falling out. If you are new in town and are looking for a hair dresser you can trust you must try Stacie at Ellouisa! She saved my hair and is an amazing artist, very very talented. She grew up around hair dressers and has a natural talent and passion for hair. She had all the time in the world for me, I love my hair and I hope this helps someone new in town. Stacie is amazing!

Ive always had long hair. One length, very straight and simple. I wanted to jazz it up a little bit and went in to Ellouise and met with Stacee. I told her not to much off the length and I'd like some long layers. She gave me a phenominal cut. I love it!!! Great conversation and the salons ambience is wonderful!! You wont be dissapointed.

After reading reviews on this site I decided to take a chance and try the salon. I made an appointment with Christy and after having a few minutes to chat she suggested that her colleague Sandie was better with short wavy hair like mine. That's never happened to me ever. Sandie and I talked about what I wanted and her vision for my hair. I felt absolutely comfortable that she knew her stuff. I left feeling that my new coif matched my personality. Sandie cut my hair very short but it's shaped well and I got several compliments on my new 'do at work. She gave me exactly what I was looking for a no mess no fuss hair cut.

I made an appointment with Stacee to get my hair colored and cut. I went in and we chatted about what might be the best "look" for me. I wanted something low maintenace..having kids it isnt that easy getting around to do my hair every morning. She gave me probably one of the best haircuts of my life!! I couldnt of asked for a better stylist..young..great conversation..her whole vibe was excellent. On to the color i had a drab blonde going on..with dark roots. Stacee gave me highlights and it totally gave my hair this sun kissed blonde look..and i love it. Thumbs up for Ellouise and stacee!!! :)

I have tricky hair. It is fine, if you don't know what you're doing, my hair ends up looking like wood chips gone wrong. I went to Sandi at Ellouise , she said she would do the first part of the cut wet, and finish dry. Her exact words were "it's like topiary, I sculpt the cut until it lays perfectly without you having to fight it when you style it." I was a little skeptical ----I shouldn't have been. She's really good and should have as many bragging rights as she wants. The best, is that when I went to style it myself it looked just as good. I am happy and I bet you will be too. Go see Sandi

I moved to the LA area about 6 months ago and I've been trying to find a good stylist. Ive been to a few different salons all around LA..hollywood..santa monica..etc. A friend told me she's been going to Ellouise for a while now and has never had a bad experience...so i thought..okay i'll make an appointment. and im so glad I did!!!! Stacee was wonderful. MY color turned out fabulous and the cut as well!! Considering my last salon experience left me very unsatisied it was refreshing to have a stylist actually listen to what you want and also give advice on what she thinks would be best for you. Also she has a great energy and the conversation was good and her prices are very reasonable!! I'll be seeing her again in the future!!! =)

I have been a customer of Sandi's since 1992 and there's a reason: she's never let me down. She's made me short, long, and everything in between; she's made me a platinum blonde and dark violet. A friend of mine who is also a longtime client of Sandi's, used to model professionally and got her hair cut by big names like Brad Johns, and reported that none of them ever held a candle to Sandi.

I remain loyal to Sandi because she is always sure-- I can walk in with a specific idea and trust that she will know exactly how to execute, but I also know I can arrive totally clueless and she'll listen to me flail around and then come up with something snappy that I love. Such is the nature of our long-standing relationship, but I am sure that she approaches her new clients with the same amount of care and imagination.

Go. There's always great music and cucumber water, and someone who really likes turning out ridiculously amazing pies and cobblers and madeleines drops by on the weekends, so there is free dessert, too!

I was looking for a stylist that I would be comfortable with and who would listen to my needs. I am extremely glad that I found Christine and won?t go to anyone else! She listened to everything I said and made suggestions when appropriate. Her extensive experience with color is apparent when coloring my hair and I am always happy with the results. She has a great understanding of what works well for me and I am happy to hear all of her suggestions. Her pricing is very reasonable and competitive. Thank you for all the wonderful work!

Christie dyed my hair back to natural light brown and it was so perfect I can't tell where her color starts

Her haircuts are so good they last me months and months and months

She is good company and her prices are good

THE WHOLE STORY:

I had hair that was dyed black on the left and platinum on the right and I had 3 inches of my natural light brown roots. I'd developed a color allergy so no more funny colors for me. I went to Christie and she got the black out enough and filled the platinum enough that after she put the color on I COULDN'T TELL WHERE HER COLOR BEGAN. I thought after 6 weeks of washes I'd need to go back to get a touch up but I never did! NO TOUCH UP! All this while being super careful not to get it on my skin because of the allergy. I never had to color my hair again.

The shape of her haircuts last me soooo long. I love her company, she's a fun person to spend a few hours with, she's young and hip and her prices are totally fair (reasonable). I can't recommend her highly enough. The salon is nice too.

I've had several hair cuts and color/highlights with Elizabeth at Ellouise during the past two years and have been thrilled with the results each time! Elizabeth has years of experience as a stylist, a great eye for art and design, and a remarkable understanding of what truly "works" for me. I went to her with a botched head of hair following a color/cut disaster and she has wonderfully restored my hair back to both health and style. She makes fabulous hair styling look easy and has been the answer to my make-me-look-incredible prayers! I highly recommend both Elizabeth and Ellouise salon!

I have been to Ellouise several times and have always had a great experience. They are definitely equipped for whatever you need...they have a very qualified group of stylists. I tried Ellouise for the usual hair cut and blowdry and have been very happy with the results. Eventually, I tried the Japanese hair treatment for my curly hair...Ofelia is the stylists that has experience in this treatment and I have to say, I was "overjoyed" at the results. I have since had the treatment twice more and I am still as amazed as the first time at how gentle it is on your hair and the results are amazing!!!

i've been to ellouise 3 times now, and every time i get a great cut. i've only seen elizabeth and she's wonderful. she listens to what you want, chats with you (but not too much if you don't feel like talking), and is a very sweet person. the price there in general is a bit on the expensive side so i don't go too often, but when i want a good cut or a drastic change, this is my new favorite spot.

I found Sandi ironically because I loved the name of her salon... it is the same as my cat's with a different spelling. Silly, I know, but when I came to see Sandi at Ellouise nearly 5 years ago I realized that I made the perfect (blind at the time) choice. Sandi is a true artist - personally and professionally - and her salon reflects her beautiful and diverse style. She has guided me through my butt-length hair to bobs to long again to short again - and I've always loved her results. She is also very creative with color. She is simply the best!!

Ellouise is definitely a salon to try -- especially if you have hair that is manageable, and easy to care for, and all stylists would likely give you a good cut or color. However, I've had mixed results, and have been to two stylists (i will admit, my hair is very straight and is not the easiest to work with!) The first haircut, with Elizabeth, was definitely one of the best, if not the best, haircut I ever had. However a second and third time were disappointing -- especially since the second time, when I was obviously disappointed, there was resistance to try to make any better. Contrary to people coming to me and saying what a geat cut, people actually said, please get your haircut and don't ever do that "style" again. But, I tried again, and this third time, the cut is OK -- not great, but not bad, going in the right direction, and the stylist was very willing to try to make better - so that is good. I'm giving all another try -- sometime it just takes time to get into the "groove" - but my jury is still out. And, yes, the people, ambiance, are the best -- even the bit of massage you get with the shampoo shows they are going the extra mile to make you feel special and welcome. I'm optimistic and hopeful with another try I'll get a great cut and continue to go.

I have enough hair for three people , and it's long. Stylists usually groan when they see me coming. I had seen this beautiful space and wondered what it was , as it does not look or feel like the normal salon. This is a huge open loft so you don't feel like everything you say is going to be heard by everyone in the shop. I made an appt with Sandi which I later found out was the owner. Not only did she do a beautiful tricolor job on my hair she also cut and flat ironed it. She did all this masterfully and the best was it was done quickly . I didn't feel like I had spent the whole day there. Which by the way wouldn'nt be the worst thing that could happen. Another thing I enjoyed was that the people who worked there seemed to like each other. The whole expierence was pleasant . I will be back.

Yes, I was like you surfing cs to find a stylist. Although I must admit I was afraid to follow through and try someone reccomended with out seeing the work. I sure am glad I did. Elizabeth gave me the blonde hilights I have been wanting for years and never getting. She used 3 bowls of blonde color. The color looks natural blending perfectly. She took her time drying my curly hair streight but full and beautiful. I've gotton a complement on my hair now everyday this week, thats why I am writing a review. Elizabeth is great.

She offers creative suggestions and is versatile and flexible in her work. Her coloring, haircuts and styling are superior, creative and unique. Dude's,
Don't think for a minute that this salon only caters to women. There is a stylist named Vanessa that cuts there. But she dosen't just cut! She gave the best shampoo I have ever had. She almost put me to sleep with the scalp massage . I have been to several salons in the past because I really don't have a regular stylist and this one I must say is a keeper, not to mention the non intimidating layed back environment.
Another cool thing is that I was able to buy my wife a nice piece of jewelry on my way out.
If you Dudes want a great cut go see Vanessa!!!

I went because I just moved back from New York and thought it sounded great. The owner Sandie did my blonde hair. Frankly, it was mediocre at best - I was extremely specific with her, I had pictures, my own mix for what is normally put on my hair, you name it... While she listened, she left me sitting under the dryer and removed all my foils at once - I was specific that you can not do that with my hair, but she was too busy to notice. She also ran extremely late and for being a first time client, it was an unnerving feeling.. Last, a young girl tried to dry my hair for 30 minutes - it was so frizzy and poorly done that I stopped her half way through and ran out.. I'm sure loads of people will still go, but I've lived in 6 cities, and I can assure you this place is just average...

If you haven't discovered this hidden treasure of a hairsalon you are missing out. I went to Sandi the owner who is not only an excellent stylist she designed the salon as well. It is a huge loft with art that rotates every several months , great parties to celebrate the artists . The place is just gorgeous. I'll be back for great service and incredible ambience. The kind of style that speaks professional and parden the only word I could come up to discribe it Hip, when I see my clients. My friend had been telling me about Ellouise for a while. Yeah Yeah there all pretty much the same I thought. I've been around and seen them all. Not so. Ellouise is like nothing I've ever seen before not here not New York, not London. I finally went in and saw the owner Sandi. You will get exactly what you imagined and then some and you'll have some of the best conversation you've had in a long time. Place is beyond discription, Sandis the best. Go Go Go.You'll wish you had found the salon sooner.

I have been getting my hair cut by Sandi for several years now. I went prematurly grey very young. I was lucky as my grey was silver and I liked the novilty of it. Until I turned 39 and felt like it made me look 50. "Lets s color it ." I said, and Sandi went to work. Lets just say I went in looking 50 and left looking 30. Ladys and gentlemen its cheaper than a face lift and I feel like I have been reborn. It is a natural and beautiful red. It enhances my curls. I couldn't be happier. Sandi you are magnifico! Bravo

I went to city search and read reviews. Ellouise sounded to good to be true. I have never heard so much praise from customers. Why not I thought. So I made an appointment with the owner Sandi who has been doing hair for a long time. She is as gracious as she is competent. She asked me about my lifestyle, work , interests etc to better make a judgment on the kind of cut and style I would be comfortable with. Can I just say that was a new expierence. And she delivered. Well I had really gone and done it this time. I had colored my own hair. In the light it had a green sheen. Not good. My students thought it was funny. Normally I have a great since of humor, but not about my hair. One of the girls in my summer class, being computer savey suggested city search. I was desperate and took her suggestion. I wanted expeirence, no time to fool around with this mess so I asked for the owner. Sandi was professional ,(she didn't laugh) and went right to work . First she took my hair back to its natural color without damaging it. To spruce me up for the summer Sandi added some highlights. My hair looks fantastic and my students agree. Looking for a great stylist, I highly recommend Elizabeth. I saw a gal with the most beautiful healthy blonde hilighted hair (just what I have been looking for for myself) but no stylist had given it to me yet. Iasked her who did her hair, she said Elizabeth at Ellouise. I can not express how happy I am to have found Christy at Ellouise Salon! I just got my haircut this weekend, and I now have beautiful soft layers and a side-part that I used to dream of having! First of all, Christy fit me into her busy Saturday schedule, and she made me feel so welcomed and comfortable. She attentively listened to exactly what I wanted, while also offering excellent suggestions for my face shape, style, and low-maintenance lifestyle. I could tell that she knew exactly what she was talking about, so I felt extremely confident sitting in her chair! I had never let anyone blowdry my hair because I didn't trust anyone, but I let Christy style and blowdry my hair, and WOW. I love love love it and have received compliments already! My search for the perfect stylist is now over. I will always and only go to Christy, and I highly recommend her to anyone. I needed a change, I had been with my stylist for ten years. I am a proffessional woman, who colors her hair, I've had the same color and cut for all these years. Finding Ellouise salon on city search with such high ratings I decided to give it a shot. I got lucky, Elizabeth, an experenced, stylist with a sweet and gentle disposition gave me a beautiful cut and base color with stunning hilights. Elizabeth took her time with me, I did not feel like she rushed to her next appointment, it was all about me! Believe me, I am so glad I took the chance to try someone new, I highly reccommend her.

O.K. How have I missed this salon for so long. It has been in Pasadena sheltered from the roaring crowds. I found Sandi because I saw a haircut on a women at Macys that stopped me in my tracks. I was afraid she was going to tell me she had it done on the west side but she mentioned Ellouise on Waverly across the street from Kelly Paper in the coolest loft I've ever seen. So I called , made an appt. with Sandi . The cut was done so well it practically styles itself in the morning. No hairs flipping up where I don't want them to. She added some color too. The whole expierence was perfect. I carry cards with me , because now people stop and ask me where I got my great cut from. Sandi your fabulous.

New to Pasadena, I found Elizabeth on citysearch. I totally lucked out! Her work is great, I love the natural looking blonde highlights and beautiful cut she gave me. I walked in with overly colored blonde hair, I was tired of it looking like straw. Elizabeth used 3 different shades of blonde, paying close attention to detail. I had pretty much given up on hairdressers giving me what I wanted. My neighbor a landscape artist with great hair recommened Sandi, so I went with trepidation. I am letting my hair grow out, it has been short for years. I also have a lot of grey. Did I mention it is wavey also. Sandi added some low lights to match my natural color which also gave it incredible body. She also gave me a trim that allowed my curls to open up, it looks like my hair is two times thicker than it really is. I was amazed. Lets put it this way, I dont usually like to gloat over myself in the mirror. I couldn't stop looking at myself. I looked sexy . My hair and style made me feel and look sexy. I travel alot. My sister in law has been raving about Sandi for years to me. After a year of begging my stylist in Denver to make me blonde,and can never get it right, I decided to try Sandi when I was in town visiting.Not only is my hair blonde the cut is perfect for my round face. I have long hair and love having it. Most stylist say they are giving a trim and I walk out feeling like someone took my first born. Christy understood and her words exactly were "Long hair is a trophy, and I've earned it" I got just the trim I needed and beautiful shape and movement with long layers. I was very happy with my experience and then my blow dry lasted three days so I had to write in. She's great, ask for her.

I was weary to call in, I needed styling done on a non salon day, the dreaded Sunday special occasion. I had read a review about being laughed at for asking for the same thing, but a 9.8 it's such a good score, I had to try. I got Christy on the other end, she was really sweet and set up an appointment on a Sunday for me to have my hair and makeup done. I'm paying more than I would on a regular salon day but it's to be expected it is their day off, I'm so glad I don't have to do it myself. So I guess if you don't want to be giggled at talk to Christy. My experience was very nice I look forward to going in.

I met Sandi at one of the art openings for Robbie Conal a while back and finally decided to give her a try. I'm a professor at Otis Art Center and while I'm older than my students I don't want to look ,well you know old. Most stylists that are a bit younger don't know what to do with me. Sandi gave me the coolist cut. Easy, hip, manageble. Turns out she may have served me a couple of cocktails at the infamous Als Bar in the Downtown artscene years ago. She has been welding her scizzors on heads from the underground music scene, punk to present. So go get a great style and have fun while your at this great and unusually beautiful space.

When I arrived for my appointment I was pleasently surprized by the art on display in this hip salon. It only got better... When I need to look fabulous for an interview or a premier Sandi is the one I make the apptointment with. I will fly in for her. I'm a red head and until I sat in her chair my hair was problimatic. I fell upon Ellouise Salon while I was dining at Saladang {the best Thi food in all of L.A.} I could see from the street a very interesting space, huge barn doors opened into a beautifuly lit art gallery. So I checked it out it is a Hair salon with experenced stylists performing magic on peoples heads! I saw hip cuts, beautiful color and styles. I made an appointment with Sandi and came back the next week to get my hair done. She did her magic on my hair. I love what she did, I am a guy that has never colored my hair but Sandi talked me into a few chunky hilights along with the cut .
I love it. I will be back in a couple months for the next art show, and my hair style.

After reading all of the wonderful reviews on here, I thought I'd call for an appointment. I wanted to have my hair flat ironed for my wedding which is on a Sunday. When I called to see abuot an appointment and asked if they had Sunday hours, the receptionist LAUGHED at me and through her annoying giggling told me no. Kristy is amazing, and is one of the few stylists anywhere who listen to what YOU want. I had been going to a "name" salon and paying far too much money for a cut that didn't work with my hair or lifestyle. Kristy managed to take my fine, thin, straight hair and cut it so it always looks good and is easy to manage. The salon is clean and comfortable and always has interesting artwork. Christy has this amazing quality of standards for your hair. I have never met a stylist who was so passionate about making you feel beautiful and making sure you are comfortable. I have very curly hair and I made an appointment to get my hair blown out, I was lucky enough to end up in Christy's chair. I have never had my hair styled so perfectly, I'm talking stick straight. She didn't just rush through me to get to her next bigger ticket client which has always happened in the past. My hairdresser hopping days are over, once you find someone like Christy your search is over. Ask for her shes amazing, Oh, and heads up I had to prebook a week in advance for color she's a bit busy which I guessis a good sign, it would be scary to call in and get in right away.

I have the hair I have always dreamed of and I got it in one day. First I had a free consultation with Elizabeth, a certified extention artist, who listened in depth to my needs and concerns. I had fine limp and hilighted hair, and wanted thick, shiny healthy hair. After choosing extentions in 2 colors giving me hi and low lights, I came back the next day for the service. When I left the salon I felt beautiful! The color is a perfect, a combo of hi and low lights. my hair is full, shoulder length with layers. I feel like a new woman with this new hair. I love my extentions, I only wish I would have done this sooner.

I needed long hair for a casting part. An acctress friend of mine reccomended Elizabeth at Ellouise, she had done her extentions, and she loved her hair. Elizabeth gave me beautiful and believable long hair. She did not put in too much hair, and she matched my already hilighted hair perfect, assuring me that when I needed hilights again, it would be no problem as the extentions are human hair that can be colored and permed! Elizabeth made it a great experence, the salon is a art gallery, a fun place to shop, as well as relaxing. Her prices are way better than the west side.

I met herl on set at a photoshoot. I worked very close with her, I was the make-up artist on this shoot. She was sweet, humble and very talented with a comb and brush. I'll admit it. I was one of those gals who thought you could only get a great hair cut and color if you went to the west side. I got tired of the drive, and frankly the attitude. I checked out Ellouise and am I glad I did. Not only is my cut and my weave perfect, Sandi made me feel like I mattered, a rare expierence in a salon. I'm not cheap but quite frankly paying close to a half a grand everytime I walked in to Beverly Hills was getting old.Ellouise Salon is gorgeous. She has such a great sense of style, a good eye for color, and is very tasteful. I like to look mildly hip, borerline conervative, but still sexy and fem at the same time. Having had the same hairdresser for over 20 years,I thought I would never find one who could replace mine when I relocated to LA. By chance I was invited to one of Ellouise's Artist openings(they have great artists showing here-Jett Jackson,Jane Goren-always something new)Anyhow I met Sandi Cruze, the owner,and made an appointment after I bought a Jett Jackson painting! Her skills are beyond! Can't tell my old hair dresser that! She's always attentive to my desires and executes wonderfully besides that she's just a great person too. The staff is great and fun to watch what amazing things they are doing. I worked in salons through college and believe this to be a fantastic one!

Okay so I did the same thing your doing, online searching for a new stylist. I just moved to South Pasadena and needed to find a new doctor, dry cleaner, and yes as scary as it is- a new hair stylist. I read the reviews on Christy and thought I'd give her a shot. The reviews were all true, She is fabulous!!! She is sweet, pleasant, and most importantly really good at what she does. If you want someone who understands you and can give you ideas for your hair off of your Personality then Christy is the Girl to go to. She can do anything, from elegance to Rock and Roll. She's an Artist when It comes to Hair. She's honest and will never do you wrong. She offers suggestions when you're confused about what to do and won't do anything that won't suit you. Everyone I've sent to her and even myself have ALWAYS been Satisfied. So if you're having trouble finding someone to trust your hair with, Give Christy a Try. I'm very particular about my hair so when my stylist moved away, panic set in. She had been doing my extensions for three years so I was afraid I wouldn't find someone else as good. While at a party, I confessed to a friend my dilemma and she said that Elizabeth, an extension artist at Elloise's was fabulous. I trusted her and made the call. Elizabeth was great. She put in beautiful human hair extensions and gave me a fabulous cut and style.

Ask for Elizabeth! Someone who listens and gives you expert service and a cut that fits your lifestyle. I need a wash and blow style and use a hotcomb on occassion. I got
a full 45 minute hair cut and style and walke out looking and feeling fantastic! Elizabeth also offered to to hair extension, not something i needed but would deffinately reccommend her to my friends.

I just had my hair colored and cut with CHRISTINA at the most beautiful salon in Pasadena. This place is where it's at and CHRISTINA really took the time to listen. Her work was right on par with my vision!!!!! I loved my whole experience at Ellouise and I HIGHLY recommend CHRISTINA!

I live an hour away, but it was totally worth it. As you walk in to Ellouise, it has a really unique decor, something you wouldn't expect from the outside. I went in for a haircut and color. Christy was my stylist. She was great, she listened to what I wanted as far as cut and color. I was really concerned about my color. I've been to many salons, I asked for a light brown with golden highlights....it always turned red! My haircolor turned out exactly what I wanted. Christy nailed it! (cut and color). I highly recommend Christy. She has a great personality, makes you feel right at home.

I just had a wonderful permanent hair straightening treatment (Yuko system) from Alanna and would recommend it to anyone with curly, frizzy, unruly hair like mine WAS... It's actually a conditioning treatment and my hair is silky and straight, I no longer wake up looking like I"m wearing a head of broccoli!! Alanna is also an extremely talented stylist with her cuts and color -- she's got it all!!

When I was in Palm Desert last winter I had Alanna cut my hair which was in dire need of work. She did a wonderful job. I would drive to Pasadena any day to have her recut it. She is not only capable, but she has a delightful personality and very caring in her suggestions etc.

Most salons are snobby, cold and smell like stinky chemicals/ I saw the big 10 by at least 20 foot doors open one evening after dinning at Saladang. The decor is open, inviting with 20 foot high ceilings. Like a good restaurant , if the salads and bread are good so is the main course. Well the service and skill meet the ambiance. Sandy the owner of this establishment listens to your wishes and gets you in and out while feeling relaxed and pampered. She suggested I come back for a facial from Janina . And that I intend to do . Up in a cozy loft. While I sat waiting for my hair to process into the luscious blonde I became I got to view original art on the walls as they also have art shows. Ellouise an unusual and satifying expierence.

See, I'm terrified of salons. I fear hair salons the way some people fear spiders and reptiles. That's how I ended up dying my hair maroon. Sandi repaired my terrible home dye job for me, and gave me a nice trim too. If you hate salons, but like galleries and also want to look stylin' - Ellouise is the place to go. Park in the lot next to the Salvation Army Collection Antique Store, it's reserved for Ellouise customers. I have never had trouble parking (shh! - sometimes I slip into the antique shop for a minute or two after an appointment, looking way too pretty to be Salvation Anyplace, and loving it! ;) )

I am a man, i've had my hair cut by Sandi, the owner, as well as by Vanessa (her daughter) and Caeser, and all three are great. I drive from N. HOllywood to go there, its that good. Haircuts are $30, which is pretty standard. I love the vibe there, the art on the walls is always changing and interesting, the furniture is totally rad, the music they play is eclectic and good, the give you free coffee or water, they treat you like you are family.

I had a hard time finding a new salon after moving to Pasadena, but I read a review on city search for Ellouise Salon and thought I'd try it. Christie at Ellousie is fantastic, she does amazing color and I highly recommend her to anyone.

On a recent trip to Pasadena, a friend suggested I visit Ellouise's salon as I was in need of color and a hair cut. This salon is appointment only, but I was a walk-in and to my good fortune, Alanna was available. She had just relocated from El Paseo in Palm Desert. My lucky day. Alanna tuned right in to the color and style and I couldn't have been happier. I live an hour and half away, but will make the drive every 5 weeks; Alanna is now my hairstylist!!

Alana, the most recent addition to that amazing team of stylists at El Louise, is an absolute jewel. This was perhaps the most favorable experience I've encountered with a stylist in quite some time. My hair looks better than ever. The cut, the color,and treatment has returned my hair to a shiny healthy state. I highly doubt I'll ever go anywhere else again.

It's easy to walk right in and feel comfortable at this great salon. The two barn doors are often open to make the great atmostphere of the salon even more welcoming. Just like its location it is just a turn away from the beaten path, giving service I haven't found at other salons. For starters my stylist, Christina, washes my hair for a magical experience (I'm calmer and more energetic afterward). She does a great neck massage. She listens and makes sure I look my best, then leads me through how to use their very own products so I can achieve that great look on a daily basis.

Super Cool Open & Airy Loft Setting right near Saladang Restaurant. Had a great experience with Christy, she was full of really happening up to date suggestions on different trends that can work with your style. I highly recommend her if you're looking for a new or innovative stylist.

I'm so glad I found this place, it is SO COOL. I just stumbled in to find Christy and I have never felt prettier. She actually listened to what I wanted then talked to me about working with my hair type, then taught me how to style my new cut. I've gotten more compliments than ever. Now I make my boyfriend come to her too. He's used to barbers and now he has a trendy new style (he loves it). This salon is so unlike any I've ever been to, it is so unique and I highly recomend a session with Christy.

If you're sick of the high tech rushed fever pitched atmosphere of most salons, then
Ellouise is your salon. Tucked away in an industrial district near old town Pasadena you will find trussed 20 foot ceilings, a loft that houses the cozyest facial room with the facialist to match. Relax relax and pamper! The salon itself has stylists with 25 years expierence to young avante guard. Art decorates the walls there are openings I went when Robbie Conal was showing. You get beautified beyond your wildest expectations, while being feed visual treats. This place is a must see must experience.
