Expert stylists provide custom looks with impeccable service. The salon doubles as a contemporary art gallery; the salon's environment changes as new art exhibits rotate in throughout the year. The stylists are as creative as the art that hangs on the walls. Clients rave about the relaxed atmosphere where the staff knows that a hair cut should be more than a quick fix; they take into consideration a customer's lifestyle and overall look. They are constantly educating themselves on the latest trends and technology in the hair industry to stay cutting edge as well as to push the envelope with their own designs and skills. Prices for a cut run around $60-$75 and color starts at $75 for a full color tint. Weaves begin at $100 and depend on the amount of hair and chemicals used.
Vanessa has always given me EXACTLY the right shade of blonde highlights I am looking for. I want to be blonde blonde I tell her! She is amazing. She manages to lighten my hair without damaging it at all. She is punctual, fast, and fun and the end results are always awesome!! People on the street are always stopping me and asking me where I have my hair done and that the color is beautiful. I tell them VANESSA AT ELLOUISE ROCKS!

I just left Ellouise hair salon, and I am so pleased with my hair. I had Elizabeth cut and color my hair. She gave me beautiful highlights, and a sassy new style. Elizabeth is sweet, and hip, & her sence of style with hair is beyond compair! Elizabeth took her time with me and tought me how to style my hair myself. On my way home I had 3 people stop me to ask where I got my hair done, I love my hair, see Elizabeth

Besides the salon being spellbinding , Sandi is a superb hairsylist. I have hard to cover gray. No more I left with my color looking perfectly natural and healthy. You can't ask for more than that. But there was more. Great music , great service and art everywhere. The place is beautiful. Thanks Sandi for a happy expierence.
Pros: clean, fun retail, great service

Fun Place to get your hair done. Very bright and colorful with lots of art deco. Off the beaten path. Really liked the way Christy cut, colored, and styled my hair. She takes her time and makes sure you are getting exactly what you want. Christy is very easy to communicate with. I have found my new stylist.

Sandi has cut me short . She has made me blonde, red and brunett. Now I have long hair. She suggested a weave perm. Never heard of that? Neither had I . Well sure I said, lets do it. Oh my God, my hair is hot! I had a change of clothes with me ,sexy pants, great boots and this wild lush gorgeous hair! I went out on the town. Wow I had to beat the men off with a stick. The beauty of this style is that I can blow dry it straight or ware it like the lions mane that this Leo is. It's a wrap a sarong around you kind of feel...don't forget the clam shells, you can afford to be modest with this look. Simply put this is a fun style.... Sandi you never cease to amaze me .
Pros: Fun, imaginative, skilled
Cons: never

I had pretty much given up on hairdressers giving me what I wanted. My neighbor a landscape artist with great hair recommened Sandi, so I went with trepidation. I am letting my hair grow out, it has been short for years. I also have a lot of grey. Did I mention it is wavey also. Sandi added some low lights to match my natural color which also gave it incredible body. She also gave me a trim that allowed my curls to open up, it looks like my hair is two times thicker than it really is. I was amazed. Lets put it this way, I dont usually like to gloat over myself in the mirror. I couldn't stop looking at myself. I looked sexy . My hair and style made me feel and look sexy. You can have longer hair over 40 . I love it. Thanks Sandi.
Pros: competent, friendly, uplifting

I travel alot. My sister in law has been raving about Sandi for years to me. After a year of begging my stylist in Denver to make me blonde, and can never get it right, I decided to try Sandi when I was in town visiting. Not only is my hair blonde the cut is perfect for my round face. Sandi is a master sculpter, no bowl haircut or bubble look, for those folks with round faces you know what I'm talking about. My sister in law came along with me and had her highlight done too. We were not rushed, it was like a day at a retreat, peaceful as well as fun. Sandi is a joy to be around and her skills are unmatched anywhere. i'm only sorry I waited so long. Thanks for the great expierence.
Pros: listened, skilled, excellent color
Cons: none

I have long hair and love having it. Most stylist say they are giving a trim and I walk out feeling like someone took my first born. Christy understood and her words exactly were "Long hair is a trophy, and I've earned it" I got just the trim I needed and beautiful shape and movement with long layers. I was very happy with my experience and then my blow dry lasted three days so I had to write in. She's great, ask for her.
Pros: hip, great blowdry, reasonable

I was weary to call in, I needed styling done on a non salon day, the dreaded Sunday special occasion. I had read a review about being laughed at for asking for the same thing, but a 9.8 it's such a good score, I had to try. I got Christy on the other end, she was really sweet and set up an appointment on a Sunday for me to have my hair and makeup done. I'm paying more than I would on a regular salon day but it's to be expected it is their day off, I'm so glad I don't have to do it myself. So I guess if you don't want to be giggled at talk to Christy. My experience was very nice I look forward to going in.

I met Sandi at one of the art openings for Robbie Conal a while back and finally decided to give her a try. I'm a professor at Otis Art Center and while I'm older than my students I don't want to look ,well you know old. Most stylists that are a bit younger don't know what to do with me. Sandi gave me the coolist cut. Easy, hip, manageble. Turns out she may have served me a couple of cocktails at the infamous Als Bar in the Downtown artscene years ago. She has been welding her scizzors on heads from the underground music scene, punk to present. So go get a great style and have fun while your at this great and unusually beautiful space.
Pros: tons of expierence, seasoned vetran, gorgeous space
Cons: none

I'm a Doctor , so I have a very busy schedule and wild cury hair. Not many people have been able to get it under control or are able to deal with my time limitations. Sandi can color, cut me and send me out the door with all the perfect products my particular hair needs quickly. As someone who deals with people all day long it is a pleasure to sit back in the hands of someone so competent.
Pros: Timely, qualified, professional
Cons: none

Soon to graduate and start a job, I wanted a change in my long straight hair. I had heard about Ellouise Salon from a fellow student. When I arrived for my appointment I was pleasently surprized by the art on display in this hip salon. It only got better... I felt comfortable and confident in the stylist, Elizabeth and trusted her to try something different with my hair. She gave me a light directional perm just to give my asian hair the movement needed for the brilliant layered cut that frames my face. Ellouise salon, a great place to get a hair style and check out the art!
Pros: night appointments, friendly staff, beautiful salon
Cons: none

I am a film script writter. I live between New York, Savanna and Los Angeles. My schedule is hectic. When I need to look fabulous for an interview or a premier Sandi is the one I make the apptointment with. I will fly in for her. I'm a red head and until I sat in her chair my hair was problimatic. No more! People stop me in the street to ask about my wonderful cut, and ask about my great color. "Is it my natural hair color?" It is not but they don't need to know that secret. Not only do I get the style I need for any given event I attend, I leave feeling rejuvinated . Sandi is better than a good theapist. Thanks for giving me that added edge when I enter into the competitive world of Hollywood.
Pros: breath taking salon, excellent service, inovative
Cons: none

I fell upon Ellouise Salon while I was dining at Saladang {the best Thi food in all of L.A.} I could see from the street a very interesting space, huge barn doors opened into a beautifuly lit art gallery. So I checked it out it is a Hair salon with experenced stylists performing magic on peoples heads! I saw hip cuts, beautiful color and styles. I made an appointment with Sandi and came back the next week to get my hair done. She did her magic on my hair. I love what she did, I am a guy that has never colored my hair but Sandi talked me into a few chunky hilights along with the cut .
I love it. I will be back in a couple months for the next art show, and my hair style.
Pros: fun place, evening appointments, serves wine

After reading all of the wonderful reviews on here, I thought I'd call for an appointment. I wanted to have my hair flat ironed for my wedding which is on a Sunday. When I called to see abuot an appointment and asked if they had Sunday hours, the receptionist LAUGHED at me and through her annoying giggling told me no. I asked her why my question was so funny and she didn't answer me. So much for service and sweetness.
Cons: rude, rude, rude

I have been going to Sandi for 15 years. I am always amazed at the beautiful rich colors she gives me and others I see in her chair. Sandi has studied color with the best hairstylists and has tought color to other stylists, She is a chemist and an artist. Sandi knows color!

Kristy is amazing, and is one of the few stylists anywhere who listen to what YOU want. I had been going to a "name" salon and paying far too much money for a cut that didn't work with my hair or lifestyle. Kristy managed to take my fine, thin, straight hair and cut it so it always looks good and is easy to manage. The salon is clean and comfortable and always has interesting artwork. Highly recommended!
Pros: Professional, friendly, Great Value
Cons: parking

Christy has this amazing quality of standards for your hair. I have never met a stylist who was so passionate about making you feel beautiful and making sure you are comfortable. I have very curly hair and I made an appointment to get my hair blown out, I was lucky enough to end up in Christy's chair. I have never had my hair styled so perfectly, I'm talking stick straight. She didn't just rush through me to get to her next bigger ticket client which has always happened in the past. My hairdresser hopping days are over, once you find someone like Christy your search is over. Ask for her shes amazing, Oh, and heads up I had to prebook a week in advance for color she's a bit busy which I guessis a good sign, it would be scary to call in and get in right away.
Pros: great hair, cool vibe, affordable
Cons: must prebook

I am a business professional and stay pretty conservative with my hair, but I have been caught in this cycle of horrible brassy highlights for years. My girlfriend found Christy's reviews on line and I sat back while she was the guinea pig. She did such an amazing job, I was a little jealous I didn't go first. But soon enough I got in there and Christy worked her magic. I have never been happier with my hair.
Pros: evening appointments, beautiful color, long lasting cuts

I have the hair I have always dreamed of and I got it in one day. First I had a free consultation with Elizabeth, a certified extention artist, who listened in depth to my needs and concerns. I had fine limp and hilighted hair, and wanted thick, shiny healthy hair. After choosing extentions in 2 colors giving me hi and low lights, I came back the next day for the service. When I left the salon I felt beautiful! The color is a perfect, a combo of hi and low lights. my hair is full, shoulder length with layers. I feel like a new woman with this new hair. I love my extentions, I only wish I would have done this sooner.
Pros: comfortable, great magazines, excellent coffee

I needed long hair for a casting part. An acctress friend of mine reccomended Elizabeth at Ellouise, she had done her extentions, and she loved her hair. Elizabeth gave me beautiful and believable long hair. She did not put in too much hair, and she matched my already hilighted hair perfect, assuring me that when I needed hilights again, it would be no problem as the extentions are human hair that can be colored and permed! Elizabeth made it a great experence, the salon is a art gallery, a fun place to shop, as well as relaxing. Her prices are way better than the west side.
Pros: parking lot, inexpensive, comfortable
Cons: none

I met herl on set at a photoshoot. I worked very close with her, I was the make-up artist on this shoot. She was sweet, humble and very talented with a comb and brush. She cut my hair during down time and I couldn't wait to get in the salon with her to do color. She's amazing! I don't know what else I can say. Go see her she's great.
Pros: Cool place, lot's of magizines, great hair

Elizabeth is a great stylist and hair cutter. She gave me the right cut for my hair type and my face. The salon space is fresh and also an art gallery. Elizabeth is a great colarist to covering the roots to beautiful highlights. The scalp massage was so relaxing, I cant wait to go back. It is the first time I have had people stop me and complement my hair. Thanks Elizabeth!

When my hairstylist of 15 years moved....I did what you are doing now, went to city search to find someone highly recommended to suit my hair needs. I tryed Elizabeth at Ellouise. Elizabeth is a stylist who could handle my curly hair, color the re-growth and gave me beautiful highlights and a perfect cut and style. Elizabeth listened to me, & took her time with me, she made my hair beautiful. I will be going back, the salon is fun and friendly and also a art gallery. I had a great experence, and highly reccommend Elizabeth
Pros: Comfortable space, Can buy the art, Fun Fun Fun
Cons: bought too much art

I'll admit it. I was one of those gals who thought you could only get a great hair cut and color if you went to the west side. I got tired of the drive, and frankly the attitude. I checked out Ellouise and am I glad I did. Not only is my cut and my weave perfect, Sandi made me feel like I mattered, a rare expierence in a salon. I'm not cheap but quite frankly paying close to a half a grand everytime I walked in to Beverly Hills was getting old.Ellouise Salon is gorgeous. Its in an old ware house , 20 foot ceilings, open ,spaceous and calm. I felt beautiful inside and out when I left. Dont miss this haven. Great hair great atmosphere. Thanks Sandi

The first time Sandi worked her magic on me was when she owned MOHAIR, the pioneering salon of Old Town Pas. My job has taken me out of town many times over the years and reluctantly into other salons with less than stellar results. I've always been able to depend on Sandi for fabulous styling and color, and I've changed it a lot over the years! The love is there and it always shows in my hair. Thank you Sandi!
Pros: The results!, Beautiful space.

She has such a great sense of style, a good eye for color, and is very tasteful. I like to look mildly hip, borerline conervative, but still sexy and fem at the same time. (I know, I want it all) Christy has perfected that balance. She can blend color like noboby's business. She has also helped me get the health of my hair back, (I had a fling with bleach last summer that ended horribly!) She is the best, ask for her cause no one can do ya like Christy can!
Pros: hip place, great magizines, good tea
Cons: only one Christy

I recently relocated to Pasadena. needing to find a new Dentist, Dr. drycleaner, and gym, on the top of my list was Hairstylist! On citysearch I found Ellouise Salon, and Elizabeth. I found the salon to be unique, it is also an art gallery. I felt comfortable with Elizabeth, she gives an amazing scalp massage, and a great hair cut. I am very pleased and look foward to my next visit.
Pros: Friendly & Fun, Great service, Knowledgable staff

I am a asian girl from Taiwan, before, like a lot of other asian gals, I was worried Christy doesn't know how to handle asian gal's hair....But~~I have been asking Christy to do my hair for 2 years already. I love her skill and fun personality. I totally enjoy visiting her. She always did excellent job for me. I gain so much confidence and got a lot compliment....so happy with her....highly higly recommended.

New to Pasadena, I just picked off Citysearch, but I totally lucked out with Christy! ...one of the BEST cut & color I've had! Choosing a new stylist can be scary, but it was a great experience. She even took me in afterwork hours, which I very much appreciate. She's friendly, easy to talk to, and seems to give her client full attention, taking the time to do her work with care and skill. Beautiful! Christy's great...
Pros: attitude, atmosphere, results

Having had the same hairdresser for over 20 years,I thought I would never find one who could replace mine when I relocated to LA. By chance I was invited to one of Ellouise's Artist openings(they have great artists showing here-Jett Jackson,Jane Goren-always something new)Anyhow I met Sandi Cruze, the owner, and made an appointment after I bought a Jett Jackson painting! Her skills are beyond! Can't tell my old hair dresser that! She's always attentive to my desires and executes wonderfully besides that she's just a great person too. The staff is great and fun to watch what amazing things they are doing. I worked in salons through college and believe this to be a fantastic one!
Pros: Dynamic, Friendly, Coffee,always
Cons: I can't resist buying, ng artworks!!!

Elizabeth Solon has been cutting, coloring, highlighting, perming and styling my hair for at least 15 years. She is not only a great stylist, she is an awesome person. She is sensitive to my needs and certainly consciencious about her work. She even came to the resort where I was getting married and styled my hair for my wedding! Elizabeth always possesses a great attitude and a wonderful disposition. I cannot find anyone that matches her skill and dependability.

As a guy, I can strongly recommend Christy as someone who knows how to style a guy's hair. She'll explain to you how she would like to style your hair, and listen to your ideas and never make you feel uncomfortable while giving your hair a style that combines comfort and flair. If you are tired of going to barbers, then come and talk to Christy.
Posted 03/09/06
In addition to the elegant and hip ambience, everyone is warm and hospitable. Christy is delightful, capable and creative. She styles our entire family! She gives a great massage along with a thorough shampoo that makes for a relaxing hair experience. One feels rather spoiled at Ellouise's. The magic is in the details.
Posted 03/03/06
Christy is the only stylist I will let touch my head, not just because of the amazing scalp massage, (WOW!) but because no one else can do what she does for me. I have been seeing her for at least the past 5 years and it doesn't matter what mood I'm in, she fits my needs. I think I've had 20 different hairstyles with Christy and I've loved them all. She's fun, entertaining, and makes me feel at ease.
Posted 01/17/06
Okay so I did the same thing your doing, online searching for a new stylist. I just moved to South Pasadena and needed to find a new doctor, dry cleaner, and yes as scary as it is- a new hair stylist. I read the reviews on Christy and thought I'd give her a shot. The reviews were all true, She is fabulous!!! She is sweet, pleasant, and most importantly really good at what she does. She made me feel like I was more than just another person that sat in her chair. Go she her, you won't be dissapointed.
Pros: Hip, beautiful space, comfortable

If you want someone who understands you and can give you ideas for your hair off of your Personality then Christy is the Girl to go to. She can do anything, from elegance to Rock and Roll. She's an Artist when It comes to Hair. She's honest and will never do you wrong. She offers suggestions when you're confused about what to do and won't do anything that won't suit you. I'm very particular about my hair so when my stylist moved away, panic set in. She had been doing my extensions for three years so I was afraid I wouldn't find someone else as good. While at a party, I confessed to a friend my dilemma and she said that Elizabeth, an extension artist at Elloise's was fabulous. I trusted her and made the call. Elizabeth was great. She put in beautiful human hair extensions and gave me a fabulous cut and style.
Pros: clean, hip, good vibe
Posted 01/06/06
Ask for Elizabeth! Someone who listens and gives you expert service and a cut that fits your lifestyle. I need a wash and blow style and use a hotcomb on occassion. I got
a full 45 minute hair cut and style and walke out looking and feeling fantastic! Elizabeth also offered to to hair extension, not something i needed but would deffinately reccommend her to my friends.

I just had my hair colored and cut with CHRISTINA at the most beautiful salon in Pasadena. This place is where it's at and CHRISTINA really took the time to listen. Her work was right on par with my vision!!!!! I loved my whole experience at Ellouise and I HIGHLY recommend CHRISTINA!
Posted 12/09/05
I live an hour away, but it was totally worth it. As you walk in to Ellouise, it has a really unique decor, something you wouldn't expect from the outside. I went in for a haircut and color. Christy was my stylist. She was great, she listened to what I wanted as far as cut and color. I was really concerned about my color. I've been to many salons, I asked for a light brown with golden highlights....it always turned red! My haircolor turned out exactly what I wanted. Christy nailed it! (cut and color). I highly recommend Christy. She has a great personality, makes you feel right at home.
Pros: friendly, comfortable, great atmosphere

I just had a wonderful permanent hair straightening treatment (Yuko system) from Alanna and would recommend it to anyone with curly, frizzy, unruly hair like mine WAS... It's actually a conditioning treatment and my hair is silky and straight, I no longer wake up looking like I"m wearing a head of broccoli!! Alanna is also an extremely talented stylist with her cuts and color -- she's got it all!!
Pros: casual comfy atmosphe, good service, reasonable price
Cons: far from my house
Posted 10/02/05
When I was in Palm Desert last winter I had Alanna cut my hair which was in dire need of work. She did a wonderful job. I would drive to Pasadena any day to have her recut it. She is not only capable, but she has a delightful personality and very caring in her suggestions etc.

Most salons are snobby, cold and smell like stinky chemicals/ I saw the big 10 by at least 20 foot doors open one evening after dinning at Saladang. The decor is open, inviting with 20 foot high ceilings. Like a good restaurant , if the salads and bread are good so is the main course. Well the service and skill meet the ambiance. Sandy the owner of this establishment listens to your wishes and gets you in and out while feeling relaxed and pampered. She suggested I come back for a facial from Janina . And that I intend to do . Up in a cozy loft. While I sat waiting for my hair to process into the luscious blonde I became I got to view original art on the walls as they also have art shows. Ellouise an unusual and satifying expierence.
Posted 08/30/05
See, I'm terrified of salons. I fear hair salons the way some people fear spiders and reptiles. That's how I ended up dying my hair maroon. Sandi repaired my terrible home dye job for me, and gave me a nice trim too. If you hate salons, but like galleries and also want to look stylin' - Ellouise is the place to go. Park in the lot next to the Salvation Army Collection Antique Store, it's reserved for Ellouise customers. I have never had trouble parking (shh! - sometimes I slip into the antique shop for a minute or two after an appointment, looking way too pretty to be Salvation Anyplace, and loving it! ;) )
Pros: hipness and expertise, pretty atmosphere, nice people
Posted 08/14/05
I am a man, i've had my hair cut by Sandi, the owner, as well as by Vanessa (her daughter) and Caeser, and all three are great. I drive from N. HOllywood to go there, its that good. Haircuts are $30, which is pretty standard. I love the vibe there, the art on the walls is always changing and interesting, the furniture is totally rad, the music they play is eclectic and good, the give you free coffee or water, they treat you like you are family.
Cons: Bad parking weekdays

ELLOUISE HAIR SALON WAS RECOMMENDED TO ME BY SOME FRIENDS AND WAS TOLD TO ASK FOR ALANNA. SHE IS DEFINITELY A COLOR SPECIALIST. SHE DID A WONDERFUL JOB ON MY COLOR AND I WILL DEFINITELY RETURN TO HER.

I had a hard time finding a new salon after moving to Pasadena, but I read a review on city search for Ellouise Salon and thought I'd try it. Christie at Ellousie is fantastic, she does amazing color and I highly recommend her to anyone.
Posted 07/29/05
On a recent trip to Pasadena, a friend suggested I visit Ellouise's salon as I was in need of color and a hair cut. This salon is appointment only, but I was a walk-in and to my good fortune, Alanna was available. She had just relocated from El Paseo in Palm Desert. My lucky day. Alanna tuned right in to the color and style and I couldn't have been happier. I live an hour and half away, but will make the drive every 5 weeks; Alanna is now my hairstylist!!
