customer services  1 Star Rating - Unsatisfactory

Services from the cashier is suck, the way they talk to people like they don't want the business.
Here is America not Vietnam, just because the dollars bill old doesn't mean we can use it.
Doesn't how good the sandwich, i will neverrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr come back again.

great baguettes  4 Star Rating - Very good

By Bert P.

I have searched LA for a good baguette, a real baguette - not the course thin loaves that even gourmet stores that should know better try to pass off as "baguettes." I have to say I was VERY impressed with Saigon's- crispy, crackly thin crust, a very toasty true flavor, and a light-as-air interior. I got two baguettes to go, still warm, and a grilled pork sandwich (tasty)- all for $3.25. I went during a slow time 4:45 PM, and the service was fine.

Bad customer service + bad quality food = NO RETURN  1 Star Rating - Unsatisfactory

By Veronica H.

I was accompanied by a local to this sandwich shop for the first time last week. The store was small and cluster with a few tables set along the window. There would be virtually no room to move around when these tables are occupied by customers. The atmosphere was chaotic and unpleasant created by poor management and poor-mannered customers.

The shop is operated by someone who has little understanding of American culture. English was barely spoken here. The staff were more comfortable with Chinese and Vietnamese as they seem to be recently arrived from Chinatown of former Saigon. Their deficiency in customer service and English skills tend to result in misordering and rude behaviors.

The mediocre quality of the sandwiches and dessert items offered at this store are not worth the hassle and bad treatments you may experience.

I have had much better Vietnamese sandwiches at other places. In fact, just down the street (West) from this shop is Lee's Sandwiches, serving pretty the same menus. In my opinion, Lee's Sandwiches are not a whole lot better in terms of customer service. But at least the quality of the sandwich is a tag better - but not much. It's also a bit more organized at Lee's.

What rather disappointing about many Asian-run stores, in general, is the lousy attitude towards customer service. I am not sure if it's a cultural thing or it's just because of low-quality people in the employment pool. I've had better services at McDonald's.

PROS: none
CONS: A bad way to spend your money on foods.

Inexpensive and acceptable  3 Star Rating - Satisfactory

This is one of about nine stores in California. It offers the popular Vietnamese sandwiches and some dessert items. It is not a "sit-down" restaurant but is rather a take-out. A wide varieties of baguette-based sandwiches are offered at a price of about $1.50 each. If you buy three sandwiches, they'll throw in a full-size baguette! These baguettes are fresh baked at the location. While their sandwiches are OK, the pate chauds are not that great. They are much smaller than the standard pate chauds but cost only 50 cents each. Pate chauds come in pork or chicken fills. MSG is used in pate chauds.

Customer service quality isn't consistent: sometime you get good service, sometime you don't. As the store is located in the middle of the new "Chinatown" in San Gabriel valley, English isn't spoke much here. But at least the menu is in English with pictures.

If you have a problem with MSG (Monosodium Glutamate), then you should ask the manager which items don't have MSG. Unfortunately, the manager is hard to get a hold of and not very friendly.

PROS: Cheap sandwiches at an acceptable quality
CONS: Parking could be a problem. Inconsistent customer service quality

Great, cheap food  4 Star Rating - Very good

I always go to Saigon Sandwiches and Bakery when I am hungry and do not want to spend a lot of money. Most of their Vietnamese sandwiches are only $1.50. They also have 3 egg rolls for $1, which is great for a snack. Their fresh baguettes are really good, and if you buy 3 sandwiches, you get a baguette free.

Good Baguette and pate chaud  4 Star Rating - Very good

By Yink S. | insider Insider | Rank: 14,641

The baguette's price is a bit cheaper than the nearby baguette store. But that does not mean that their quality is lower too. Also, if you are lucky, you can have pork or chicken pate chaud too, they are fresh and not expensive too. It has a massive parking lot, because there is a supermarket.
