We always go to Adobe when we need to bring in our pets. While they do charge more than other places, Ive always felt we received quality care unlike with other places out here. \r

Dr. Mushkot is a liar. He informed my mom and I that our beloved cat was perfectly fine when he gave her a physical two months ago. All he did was put a stethoscope up to her chest, even though that there was labored breathing. Two months later, our cat sadly passed away from a enlarged heart. Dr. Mushkot should've informed my mom and I that our cat had a heart problem and needed medication. We went back to Mushkot after our cat died, and he gave a pompous, bullshit response. We asked him if there could've been further testing done, but he said that, for one thing, it wasn't ""routine"", and another, he didn't think that further testing would've helped. Do not take your pet to this man and his clinic. Even if he may appear to be nice in demeanor, his malpractice and misdiagnosis of our cat cost her life and our life trying to deal with the loss. If anyone should feel guilty about it, Dr. Mushkot should.

My usual vet sadly passed away so when my dog began having seizures yesterday morning, I took him to Adobe. It was so frightening to witness his seizures, he couldn't walk, lost control of his bowels, vomited, and he was extremely confused. I walked into Adobe with my sick dog, my 3 year old daughter and tears rolling down my face. I was told by girl in front office that since they were closing in one hour, so they had to turn us away. Really? In one hour, the doctor couldn't quickly take a look at my sick dog. I asked her if this was a life or death situation because I didn't know if my dog could die or not. She responded that the doctor was on the phone and asked me if she wanted me to interrupt his phone call. They obviously didn't care about my dog so I walked out the door and went to another vet who was able to help my dog. I wouldn't recommend this vet to anyone who has an emergency situation. I cannot comment on the doctor himself because I was not able to see or talk with him. He may be a great doctor if you have an appointment, but the front staff and the Manager couldn't care less about animals.

Brought my dog in for a simple vaccine update, since it was within walking distance. The moment I walked in, I could feel the gritty dirt on the floor, and not just at the front door, but throughout. A puppy with Parvo (can't mistaken that distinctive smell) was placed in what I think was the one and only exam room. The moment that the puppy walked out, they called my dog in. That doesn't even leave time for them to disinfect everything. I told them I would wait until that room was clean. Next time I was called in, the place smelled strongly of cleaning products. My dog was placed on the table, and as the glass thermometer (dangerous to use with animals, by the way) was moving towards my dog's rear, I saw leftover feces on the thermometer, no doubt from the previous patient. I had to point this out to the vet before it even touched my dog. Thankfully, I witnessed a sterile syringe being removed from it's packaging before the vaccine was drawn up.

Being a veterinary student, I notice the differences between a good and bad practice even more than the average client. I have not been back to this hospital since.

We had our dog spayed here. The staff was gentle and loving. On the first day home we weren't sure about a spot on her belly, so we called the dr. He said to bring her right in. He looked at her. Luckily it was nothing - but he did not make us feel stupid for bringing her in. He said if we had any questions at all we should bring her and he meant it! Pleasure!

Dr. Mushkot and his staff are capable, caring and attentive. He has kept our dogs and cat healthy for 10 years, assisting our family in a couple of very difficult situations. Recommended. Not available after hours, though.

This pet hospital is a small, old adobe building way out in Canyon Country. Besides the humble office, Dr. Mushkot gives our cat and dog lots of affection and is very nice. His veterinary clinic is the most reasonable place in Santa Clarita, and the quality of care is first-rate. It pains me to ignore our local vet (2 blocks away), but the trip to Adobe is always worth it.
