This was my first experience at a restaurant like this one. The food was very good and I liked the way they push the carts around and you pick what food you want from the carts when they pass your table. They sort of went by fast before I could decide which food I wanted, so my co-workers had to pick my food for. It was fun !

If you love dim sum, you must eat here. They roll carts by your table and you just stop them and tell them what you want. Its crazy, but the food is delicious. Love their shumai and hargow. Save room for the sweets.

I love this restaurant. If you are a dim sum fan you must go here for lunch. CBS is always packed, so reservations are a good idea and they don't necessarily guaruntee you no wait. They have been voted Best Dim Sum in Los Angeles and for good reason. A wide array of carts roll by you table carrying bountiful amounts of har gow, shumai, steamed and baked pork buns, fried shrimp, squid, you name it. If you love shrimp this place is ideal, as almost every dumpling has good sized shrimp inside. Often I find the shrimp at a chinese restaurant somehow disturbing and unsatisfying but that is definately not the case here.
Beside the great dim sum, CBS is also a great deal. Four people could have an overly filling lunch for under $25.00.
It's insane! Definately a must try.
PROS: - Really good food for really low price
- take out counter is even cheaper
- constantly keeps your teapot filled
CONS: - chinese speakers have a definate advantage
- have to be outspoken to get what you want
- located in Chinatown, they have a parking lot, but it is ususally full at lunch
