Typically, restaurants aren't intimidating. But when I walked into CBS Seafood on a recent Saturday morning, I clammed up like a third-grader making his talent-show debut.
People were speaking Chinese in frenzied voices, carts took up

The dim sum was horrible. If you must have good dim sum try: New Capital Seafood 140 W Valley Blvd Fl/4 #D San Gabriel, CA 91776
or try Ocean or Dragon in China Town.
Much better.

This was my first experience at a restaurant like this one. The food was very good and I liked the way they push the carts around and you pick what food you want from the carts when they pass your table. They sort of went by fast before I could decide which food I wanted, so my co-workers had to pick my food for. It was fun !

I love dim sum and have been cruising almost all the dim sum restaurants. I have been to Ocean Star, Harbor City, NBC, Thrimphal which are the more popular ones in the city. Then this weekend,

Pros: for those who don't care about ambience, taste and service, this is a perfect fit 4 U!
Cons: small and tight, mediocre taste and too many smokers outside the door. Don't breathe!!
If you love dim sum, you must eat here. They roll carts by your table and you just stop them and tell them what you want. Its crazy, but the food is delicious. Love their shumai and hargow. Save room for the sweets.
5great food, great prices and great service! the place was clean, the food was hot and the wait staff was friendly and helpful. went around 2:30 on a saturday afternoon got the free parking in the back and didn't have to wait to be seated.

Forget the butter and lobster/seafood traditional style....CBS has the best Lobster with Ginger , Garlic and Green Onion...best taste nothing can compare to this. There peeking duck., deep fried prawns, and mixed seafood soup is the best

Pros: Great Food
Cons: Sometimes Crowded
With all the places outside of Chinatown to get great dim sum, it's nice to see there are still good dim sum restaurants in Chinatown. CBS Seafood is always packed, especially on the weekends. If you get their early and take your time

We had a really great meal here.\r
Absolutely the best shrimp in town.\r
We had a 5 course meal and it was wonderful.\r
Everything is so fresh and delicious. If you like seafood this place is certainly the best kept secret of Chinatown.

I love this restaurant. If you are a dim sum fan you must go here for lunch. CBS is always packed, so reservations are a good idea and they don't necessarily guaruntee you no wait. They have been voted Best Dim Sum in Los Angeles and for good reason. A wide array of carts roll by you table carrying bountiful amounts of har gow, shumai, steamed and baked pork buns, fried shrimp, squid, you name it. If you love shrimp this place is ideal, as almost every dumpling has good sized shrimp inside. Often I find the shrimp at a chinese restaurant somehow disturbing and unsatisfying but that is definately not the case here.
Beside the great dim sum, CBS is also a great deal. Four people could have an overly filling lunch for under $25.00.
It's insane! Definately a must try.
PROS: - Really good food for really low price
- take out counter is even cheaper
- constantly keeps your teapot filled
CONS: - chinese speakers have a definate advantage
- have to be outspoken to get what you want
- located in Chinatown, they have a parking lot, but it is ususally full at lunch

We disagree completely with the last review. Being huge fans of dim sum, and regulars at our favorite place on the Westside, we wanted to sample what the Chinatown area offered. Although we arrived during the New Year celebration, we were
