Vivande Porta Via

I am addicted to their hazelnut torte cake thing, which is the only reason for the 2 stars. Otherwise, it would be a 1 star simply because they offer the absolute worse customer service in existence.

Actually, it's nonexistent, so go figure!

I heard that Vivande had received some kind of award from the President of Sicily for its food. Arriving in San Francisco for a short stay I had to try the place. The President was right! To get pasta this fresh and good youd have to travel Sicily, perfect. I my first visit I started with the Insalata Capricciosa, a salad of romaine hearts and anchovy garlic dressing and then had the Fettuccine Salsiccia, delightful pasta with house made fennel sausage, peppers in a white wine sauce. The service was attentive as plates were cleared and clean silverware provided after each course. I returned two more time before I had to return to Florida and each time was a pleasure.
