I first went to Milanos when I was a wee youngin' with my brother. I knew that was great pizza then, and through the years always tried to go there if I was in the neighborhood. Eventually I went to High School just 3 blocks away and Milanos became a Friday tradition.
I'm a big guy on crust, i think its an awesome end for a great pizza, and allows to hold the pizza well. Milanos has never disappointed with thick crust pizzas that are fluffy, and warm. Their specials are also great, whether you get all veggies, meat, or a mix, you are guaranteed to find a special you like, or make your own!
They'll even make your own creation on 1 slice, which is awesome considering not everyone wants the same thing!
Also if you are going to be sitting down, check out their cheesy pesto garlic bread - one of my favorites!
The thing I like best about this place is how much they do NOT toot their own horn. I mean, they do have newspaper clippings all over the walls, and pics of 'celebs' that have visited. Remember the neighbor's best friends' cousin in the Cosy Show? yeah, the little black kid that was on for a half second on one episode. He's right up there.
Darn good pizza, and there is a good looking guy or two at the counter.
This is the best comfort food available. I was so surprised. I have tried many Italian and Brazilian places of the same style, and this one has become my favorite for delivery (which is very fast). And the prices are fantastic for the amount of food they offer. I'd recommend it
Milano is your neighborhood pizzeria with red & white checked tableclothes and personalized pictures on the wall. I've only had the pepperoni and meat combination pizzas but both were amazingly good. The garlic bread is good but the salads are pretty boring.
Pros: Great pizza
Cons: Lame salad, parking
We live in the Sunset and this is the better pizza place near us on 9th Avenue, next door to Eldo's Microbrewery. It is convienient to the N Judah line and has a nice pizza joint ambiencein. They have good pizza here and we always end up with some kind of pizza even though there are many other choices that also appear to be just as tasty. We often have this pizza delivered on a Friday night when we are too tired to go out. Delivery has always been prompt for us and the pizza hot and the way we like it. It has been around for such a long time that it is old fashioned in that it is only cash and carry but well worth the extra effort.
Pros: N Judah Line + busses, great pizza, delivery service
Cons: Cash only, slow service sometimes
Milanos makes really good pizza, some of the best in San Francisco. It's worth a visit.
ordered pasta dish was similar to canned chef boyardee ....with melted cheese on top. Orderd pizza with the pasta but never recieved it / bottom line led to a walk out. But the pizza looked good judging from the guy sitting at the next table scarfing his whole sausage pie, while I was waiting for mine for 1 hour. never again
It is very good pizza with a low ambience. A family owned restuarant with nice pizza and oh yea pizza to die for
Pros: sood food , family oriented
For many years they turn out consistently good and the most delicious pizza. If you have your order delivered, the pizza arrives fresh with a courteous driver who works for them for years. Great to have them around.
I have been to many a pizzerias and this definitely ranks among the best. Lots of cheese and fixin's. Oh yeah, very delicious.
