Before Torrance Auto Center went out of business, it failed to pay Hertz for many car rentals that had been authorized under customers' extended service contracts. Now, Hertz Collections is going after those customers to pay the invoices that Torrance Auto Center was supposed to have paid. How nice of the Hand family to walk away from their bills and leave them for their customers to pay!

They padded the price of the car eight grand! Every time I went to get warranty work done, they ordered the wrong part. I had to bring the car back every time I had work done there.
They damaged my wheel rim and botched a simple wheel alignment. They replaced a strut bearing and it went bad in two weeks.
This is by far the most sloppy incompetent dealership I've ever seen. Because of them I will never buy another American made car again.
In light of General Motors problems and their decision to drop Saturn, Saturn of Torrance should change their name to "Saturn's R Us

I have a 750 credit score. First guy suckered me in by saying they'd lower the sticker price. Then they offered me 9% financing, gave me a below average offer on my tradein, and didn't change the sticker price one cent. I had to fight tooth and nail for 2 1/2 hours (as they said, "We're no haggle" while they dickered) just to get a FAIR deal on the financing and trade. And they acted as though they were doing me a FAVOR the whole time, without lowering the sticker!!!! I kept asking for three things: trade in value, % finance, and price of car... they kept giving me PAYMENTS and #MONTHS, ignoring my VERY CLEAR requests. After we shook on a deal, I cleaned out my car and loaded the new car, they realized they messed up by forgetting to add in the $1800 upsidedown from my trade. After the 3 HOURS we spent, they then came back to me ADDING $100 A MONTH FOR 66 MONTHS to make up for THEIR error. FURIOUS, I walked out the door.

When I came back 2 days later because they forgot to give me back my registration, they said they wanted to get me in the car. I made it clear there I was there to sign papers for the origianl payments or get my registration and LEAVE. They PROCEEDED TO ATTEMPT NEGOTIATING AGAIN and still wrapping THEIR error into my payments with a profit!!! and no apologies for my wasted time. I made it clear I only would agree to original payment plan, however they wanted to work the numbers was their problem. THEN they would only talk trade value/%finance/price when I had made it abundantly clear what it would take. The original deal. NIGHTMARE.

My boyfriend was taking his car to the Saturn of Torrance for the major services and they did not tell him that there was anything wrong with his car until his warranty period ended. He was so upset over it because his car had all these items breaking down at many different places all at the same time. The same thing happened to his dads car too which made them suspect something was up with the service department.

I purchased a Saturn at another location in 2000 and then moved to the LA area. I had purchased the 40k service package where I got all my services pre-paid, so I was hooked into going to a Saturn dealer for service. I have had a ton of problems with my Saturn. Within the first 8k miles, I had to replace the clutch manifold, and I started getting 17mpg. I kept taking the car back in for them to fix the problem (since the sticker stated I would get 32 city and 37 hwy). Each time I had a different service tech, but they all told me the same line which I am sure people who don't know anything about cars would believe, but is completely irrelevant - "the more miles you put on your car in a month, the better gas mileage you will get". That concept stillescapes me. They couldn't aswer my follow on comment of "since I am driving approx. 3500 miles/mo, whould I be getting really good mileage under that logic". They were stumped. That is just the start of the story with this dealer. My car has also had
