This is hands down the best resteraunt we have ever been to. We have been there many times. Even when we lived 2 hours away we would come all of the way to Forestville to have the best cuisine humanly possible. I say this without exaggeration. This is the best food you will find. The restaurant is amazing. The ambiance is perfect. We love the fire pit in the back yard/garden with redwoods and artistic landscaping, all perfectly lit, as to not ruin the vibe. We have even been welcomed with our children. Tai was able to whip up something special and basic for the children to their liking. We will always be #1 in the Mosaic fan club!!

We just happened apon this place, out in sleepy little Forestville one night, went there for our 9th anniversary dinner. We were served by the most delightful young lady, "ELLEN", she made us feel like we were her only customers, talk about a professional and it shows in the love in her eyes, that she is there to make you happy and she is very happy at what she is doing. we had the most incredible meals there that night and there after, and the wine list, once again "WOW", this has become our FAVORITE restaurant in the bay area, you walk away from your dining experience with such warmth in your soul, you want to call all your friends and say "you gotta go to Mosaics in Forestville, out near the river resorts", and the SALADS, are a must, all created by the wonderful chef, Enjoy your dining experience there and make reservations... you'll NOT be dissapointed

Pros: everything was a pro for us

Cons: ok, the parking situation is lousy but you walk from your car to a great dining experience, and then you'll even enjoy the romantic walk back to your car afterwards

Mosaic.... what words can I use, this restaurant is absolutely GEORGEOUS. I happen to live in Forestville and my birthday was celebrated at Mosaic in Dec 2005. I have dined at first class restaurants before but this was different. None of those places provided such ambiance. Mosaic is more than just a meal, it's a dining experience.

It is absolutely stunning inside, beautiful artwork, woodwork and lighting. In the back of the restaurant we sat in the comfort of plush loveseats enjoying wine and talking until WE were ready to go to our table. By the way, our table was ready and waiting for us from the moment we walked in. The atmosphere inside is elegant and classy yet at the same time relaxing and comfortable.

I told a friend, "It doesn't feel like a restaurant, it feels like we were having dinner at a friends house." For a first class restaurant, it felt just as cozy and comfortable as Forestville itself does.

The staff at Mosaic is warm, friendly and welcoming. Mosaic's chef and business partner, Tie, creates entrees that are exquisit one of a kind meals. Then, while his patrons are dining, he walks the floor, stopping at every table, introducing himself and asking if the meal is to their liking, then, he thanks them for choosing to dine at his restaurant.

Fading is the image of Forestville as a small country town, lacking elements of class and refinement. Mosaic's voice is heard far beyond the boundaries of Forestville and it is drawing people here to experience it for themselves.

Mosaic offers an entire dining experience, that goes beyond the food itself.. The reputatiion of this new venture brings visitors that are spending their money in our town because it has something to offfer, something less ordinary, something more than just a meal.

Thank you Tie for bringing something wonderful to our little neck of the woods.

Pros: Ambience, Service, Great Food

Cons: Forestville lacks in the Parking Lots department but, it's a small town and that is to be expected

Best restaurant experience of my life, to date!

Mosaic impressed us even before we decided to dine there. The folks at Mosaic went out of their way to fax a current menu to the inn, while we were still browsing competing menus.

The restaurant is a nondescript building beside another nondescript business, on the main road through Forestville. It is exactly the type of facade that one typically finds hiding something amazing!

The restaurant is dimly lit, lots of dark wood and sturdy tables. There is a garden outside, where you can dine; but, we dined inside. There were a few others dining, but the room is quiet. You don't notice the other diners. It is ideal for a romantic dinner, though with decorations more sturdy/simple than frilly.

The folks at Mosaic make you feel at home. The host, Sean, was a gentleman who spent time visiting with us, getting to know us. We were celebrating, and Sean brought complimentary champagne, a nice touch!

About the food. In a word, wonderful. Our appetizer was two large scallops, grilled and decorated in artistic fashion. I apologize that I don't recall the exact details, but it was amazing. For dinner I had a coffee-crusted filet mignon, served medium-rare with potatoes---a scrumptious house specialty. My girlfriend had lobster with a light sauce, delicious and perfectly prepared.

After dinner, Sean invited us to the garden for dessert. Its getting dark now, and he brought candles. We sat under a canopy, and ordered a chocolatey dessert---as well crafted as the rest of the meal. The restaurant was closing for the evening, and we're the last. To finish, chef Tai Olesky came out to visit, an offering of his favorite wine in tow. Tai, Sean, my girlfriend and I chatted for a half hour or so about wine, the world, and Sonoma vs. Napa, before leaving.

To sum up: fantastic food and great wine selection, for sophisticated palates; very pleasant environment; and, wonderful people and conversation. HIGHLY recommended!
