This restaurant is now closed. Since its sale a few years ago, the demise of the lunch buffet and losing a few key employees, this place has spiraled downward. Too bad, this place was once a decent place to eat up till the sale.

This family owned restaurant has excellent food, ambiance, service, and margaritas! They have operated this restaurant for several years and you can tell it by their excellence. A definite recommendation!

This is a great family owned authentic Mexican restaurant. The food is outstanding and the service is good as well. The prices are reasonable. The Margaritas are very good - a must for recommendation from me. This is one of my favorite Mexican restaurants.

We have been eating at this restraunt for over 15 years and have never been disappointed. Their lobster enchiladas are to die for and if they are not listed as a special--just ask for them. They will make them special just for you. The asada prada is always a favorite as well. If you want a mexican restaurant that tastes like home cooking--this is the place for you.

I had no quarrel with either the food, service and overall ambiance of the place. My only problem was the fact that there's no windows and a view to the outside. I felt a bit claustrophobic in there, in spite of the colorful and cheerful atmosphere. But for the seasoned mexican food lover that I am, I was actually quite impressed. I'm cautious about putting any restaurant in a bad light, and usually would give it another chance, especially when the reviews are outstanding. This place has been as good as a popular place for a long time according to many locals.

Just this past Sunday, we had a 50th wedding anniversary party for our grandparents at the Mexican Affair Restaurant. KUDOS to Ruth Lopez and her team. It was such a fantastic event. The food was excellent. We particularly LOVED the shredded chicken and beef tacos and the cheese enchiladas. I was worried about having the party there because of the reviews I saw on here but for a party of 40, which most restaurants can mess up, a Mexican Affair pulled it off without a hitch. There was a good ratio of servers and they all bent over backwards for anything any of the guests needed. So...great service!! They even let us bring in Mariachis and a cake (which they even cut and served for us). It was not expensive, $12 per person for a full buffet, NICE. The only room for improvement I saw was that the margaritas were a little on the sweet side (but I like 'em STRONG). Other than that minor detail I am giving them a full five stars!

I just came from this place. I went with my wife, it was my birthday. So we were both in a great mood and had seen this place got good reviews here.

We both love mexican food and have it alot. Both here in LA and also in Mexico, so I would say we have seen quite a few mexican restaurants.

We started with the guacamole which was watery and looked old. We then ordered tortilla soup which was so salty we couldn't eat it. My wife had the fish tacos and after they came we realized they hadn't put any sauce on them the waiter told us he forgot to make it, so when he came back he put a whole bowl of ranch dresing in front of my wife, with a look like, is this enough?

I had two strawberry marguaritas which were red but very weak in both taste and alcohol. My dinner was luke warm when it got to the table. To top it off when we got the check our margaritas were almost $9.00 ea!! I hate to think what they charge for top shelf.

This place deserves recognition all right, the kind that helps others avoid having the kind of dinner we did. I really hope I will spare someone else that sinking feeling of having to pay a high price for a well below average meal.

And this place had 3 good reviews, and an 8.9 rating? No way!!!

Good, family-owned Mexican dining in Long Beach. Wonderful place to get a full Mexican dinner. We've been going there for years, and it's been getting busier lately. Glad to see others finding out about this long-time Long Beach fave!
