This is one of the better non-profits in San Francisco. They have many services for the for people with limited or no vision. The Lighthouse also has an excellent hidden jewel of store on the main level that sells the latest adaptive equipment for people that are beginning to or have lost their sight. They sell everything from talking watches and adaptive kitchen supplies to the latest and greatest magnifying machines. If you are losing your vision or know someone that has is or has limited vision this is the place to go. The staff is excellent and the service is outstanding. It is a true inspiration. I highly recommend them. The only drawback is that the store has limited hours and is not the easiest store to get to, so I would recommend that you call in advance to make sure it is open.
