They atmosphere here is very mellow and it has indoor and outdoor seating. They have a great variety of beer and it is pretty reasonably priced. The food is pretty good too!

Porter's Pub has a good selection of beer, offered at affordable prices. The pub's atmosphere is super chill, but because of that, the services are extremely slow. It took me 25 minutes to get my salad one time. I definitely do not recommend going to the place if you are in a hurry to go somewhere else. But if you're looking for a place to unwind after class or after work, this is the place to be. The pub plays good music, and there are game tables there as well.

Whether you visit Porter's Pub for a concert or just to grab a brew with your friends (or TA's), you're bound to have a good time. Located in the Old Student Center Complex, next to the UCSD Bike Shop and Mandeville Auditorium the Pub for short is always buzzing. True they are trying to turn it into more of a sports bar atmosphere with the addition of two televisions and finally fixing the foosball table (there's actually two working ones now!). But that doesn't take away from the choice of brew they have (from locals such as pizza port and stone to foreign brews with some Belgians thrown in there for good measure; of course there's the Guinness and New Castle but seriously try something new if you've never had anything besides those two and consider those two the best dark beer in the world, though many do agree they are). Happy Hour is also great b/c there are discounts off all local beers, and those are some of the best. Aside from the brews, the food there is delicious. Though the fryer has been broken the entire year (oh the loss of the chicken basket and curly fries) their sandwiches are up to par with any anywhere else on campus. The prices are reasonable and if you don't go overboard you can enjoy yourself without regretting the last beer you bought. It's also one of the only places Grad Students can interact with undergrads in an informal atmosphere. The outside patio is great for outdoor seating and if you mind smoking this may not be the place for you. The Pub also hosts many a concert and events put on by clubs such as dances and talent shows. Some great concerts have rocked the Pub (including RJD2 two years ago), and if you like any genre of music really you should hit up one of the concerts. This years acts have included hip hop artists, alternative rockers, and a list of others that are usually advertised well in advance so don't say you never knew there was a concert there (there's one every week practically). So if you're ever around the Old Student Center and want to grab a brew (or if you're 21 and want some lunch) roll on by to the Pub, who knows you may see your professor there having office hours one day. Enjoy

This is a cool place. I came here to hear a band. It was a nice environment and free to get in. You can drink if you are of age or just chill. I would go again. Parking is difficult, so it is most convenient if you are already on campus.
