I have been to the Golden Needle many times and I always get the exact service I request. They are friendly and helpful in every interaction. We even rented a Tux for the company Christmas party and then went above and beyond to get it for us in a short turn around.

Golden Needle Tailoring has been in business for 25 years, yet our tailors have been employed for many more years. Our head tailor has worked for our corporation for 47 years, another tailor for 28 years and one more for 23 years. Having served the public for all those years, we must be serving our customers in a proper manor. Our company has received many awards in the community over these years and pride ourselves in the service to our customers. Occasionally we have a customer that is very difficult to please and try as we may, they are not happy. We encourage our customers to "try on" their articles before they leave the store because we want to be sure they fit. We make mistakes on some items, but we gladly make the corrections. To come to the Golden Needle is a great experience. Our tailors are very friendly, and helpful. We pride ourselves in giving our customers great tailoring and excellent workmanship. Several of my friends have been telling me about Golden Needle for a long time. I decided to give them a try and had them do a couple thousand dollars worth of custom clothing. It all turned out great, though one button was loose, so they came to MY office and picked it up and fixed and returned it at no cost at all. I expect to keep on doing business with them. I wasn't planning to write but seeing the one negative review, I felt it was unfair and should be filed under "some people you just can't please no matter how hard you try"

took in a pair of very expensive jeans for hemming. was a bit nervous but persuaded by the longevity of this establishment that they were the kind of professionals to handle the job. staff was very confident. picked up jeans 1 week later and took home (should have tried them on on the spot, my mistake). one hem was clearly longer than the other. took them back, explained the problem (both how they clearly hung incorrectly when i wore them, and how the legs were clearly different lengths when laid against one another on a flat surface). staff attempted a slight of hand by grabbing the bottom hems and giving me a "see, they line up - you have to look at them like this" while the rest of the pant up the leg was clearly completely out of whack. begrudgingly agreed to "fix" them free of charge, while implying all along the way that i had "one hip higher than the other", "one leg a bit longer than the other", etc. i put them back on, he made some quick chalk marks, i went home. picked up a second time, and it appeared nothing had been done. was out of energy arguing my way into a well-tailored pair of jeans with this establishment, and very upset that they had possibly compromised a very expensive purchase of mine. took them to a wonderful lady 6 blocks away who quickly sized them up, measuring the inseams to be different BY NEARLY 5/8". it was unclear whether there was sufficient material left over in the shorter (botched) hem to bring it down to the correct hem length, but she promised to split the difference if this proved to be true. quoted me 1/3 the cost of Golden Needle and had them for me the NEXT DAY! AMAZINGLY my legs are the same length (as i suspected based on having had zero history of this problem with off the rack jeans before) and the jeans now fit beautifully. if you want inferior results with someone who's been tailoring for over 25 years then by all means go to Golden Needle. otherwise heed my advice and find yourself someone a bit more professional.

This is the finest tailor in the bay area. This is the only spot I take my bosses clothes to. The staff is old and clearly knows their craft. They are professional, but not intimidating and open to any questions. They can finish any job in a timely fashion

PROS: Quick. Friendly. Experienced.
CONS:
