Sotto Voce

Sotto Voce has some cute little gifts and jewelry items, but I've never felt totally comfortable going in there because the clothes come in tiny sizes and so do the employees. I think it must be part of the whole European thing that this store is going for -- fat Americans not welcome. The employees were never rude to me or anything like that, but I just felt like I was kind of invisible, and honestly they had no reason to pay attention to me because clearly I wasn't going to buy any clothes. So if you are a small person and you like buying cute little European fashions, you would probably have a good time in this store. If you aren't, you might not.

I love Sotto Voce, and have found a wide variety of sizes and great styles of clothing, in addition to lovely gifts for my women friends and their babies. The employees have been helpful and friendly, and they are not all rail thin, as one reviewer (who perhaps hasn't been there regularly) avowed. I'm going over there right now to buy some cashmere blend socks and some pretty soaps for my sister-in-law. Try Sotto Voce again -- you won't be disappointed.
