Love this store. I always find what I want and someone is always ready with an answer to my questions.

Pros: I can go and sit and knit/crochet at the table whenever.

Cons: They aren't open 24 hours a day.

They have an amazing selection of yarn and supplies. The staff is very friendly and helpful! The rates are very reasonable.

This store had really nice yarn, but as a beginner knitter, I found the advice given to me a little too advanced. I had difficulty using the yarn the lady recommended, even after I questioned her about its use for a beginner (knitting for less than 1 month). As a beginner knitter, I have much regrets about spending almost 8$ on yarn I cannot use. Otherwise though, the quality of yarn seems quite high and there were lots of really nice colors!

The people are soo nice and the yarn is top-notch. Not so sure if they're the cheapest place in town, but they're one of the hippest..

I'm almost afraid to let my secret out, but this little store deserves to be known. People I've met in the shop have asked why I travel from Sherman Oaks to Venice Boulevard to knit when there are yarn stores nearer to my home; my answer is always the same - because I love the women in the shop! I'm not just learning how to knit, but I'm making new friends. When I'm there I feel as if I'm in a real-life version of "Friends." From the staff to the regular customers, the store comes to life as these "characters" share their common passion. The staff is warm and friendly, and offers assistance to all who enter the door, and EVERYONE is very helpful and patient, especially with us beginners! Annette especially, has the patience of a saint and never hesitates to offer her help when I need it. The yarn selection is GREAT and it seems as if they've just received new stock every time I go in! They have a nice supply of books on knitting and crocheting and supplies that I still have no idea what they are used for! Check out the website at http://www.amanoyarn.com.

PROS: Beautiful yarn, latest books, awesome staff, great conversation!

I didn't think that shops like this still existed! The staff were so friendly and helpful. When I walked in, they were both working on projects and chatting about life. It was so refreshing! I walked out of there a few dollars poorer, but richer in finding a great store. I will be returning for more yarn and tips from the great staff!

The gals that run this store are not only friendly, but incredibly talented knitters and crocheters. If I don't buy my yarn online, I go here, since every time I go in I'm made to feel welcome. If I'm having trouble with something, this is a place I know I can go to get help from patient experts. Also, their prices are good and the selection is amazing.

I waltzed in to Amano Yarn Center several weeks ago and was begging for help on reading a pattern for a ripple afghan. I was greeted warmly, and introduced to each of the ladies who were employees as well as the regular customers. I wasn't treated like an idiot, like most men might expect to be if they were to find themselves asking for help on crocheting or knitting projects.
Though their prices were higher for yarn than Michael's or Joann's, the quality was far superior!

The owners are totally sweet, it's a really down to earth place to hang out and knit and their yarn selection is awesome. Feel the Lorna's Laces, touch the Touch Me, caress the NatureWolle. They also have a superlarge selection on their needle wall in addition to many fun accessories, punk rock knitting totes and hand carved tapestry needle holders. Fun!!

Really cool local yarn store. The staff are really friendly and nice. The prices are great and they have lots of classes and an open knitting circle once a week. The owners live locally and are always around to help give advice and help you start a project. This is my favorite yarn store!
