I always went to Blockbuster when I lived in Florida and had nothing but good experiences. They were always friendly and courteous. They seemed to have seen every movie that I rented and gave me ideas for my next visit if I liked that one. They were always helpful and explained any promotions that were going on and helped me find the best deal for what I wanted.

Well... let me just say that this Blockbuster is COMPLETELY different. If it didn't have the same name, I wouldn't even think it was the same company! There are a few guys that work in the store that seem nice and helpful, but one employee in particular is absolutley terrible. If I recall correctly, her name was Michelle. I checked my receipt, it doesn't show a name, but does she her Employee ID - 32131. She should not be working in any type of customer facing position at all.

I went in the other night, after having signed up for their rewards program (not fully understanding just what it was, but knew it meant that I was able to get 1 free movie after renting 4 in the same month). When I got to the check stand, she made a smart comment about how many movies we were renting... we had 5 in our hands. (Halloween weekend, mind you). After that, she started questioning what promotion we wanted because we had grabbed a couple of boxes of candy as well. When we asked her what promotions they were running, she sighed as if she was irritated and started rambling about if we rent one more this month we get a free one. Huh? She seemed confused about her own promotions... she kept talking in circles and didn't make any sense. She finally said, "Do you want these movies, or not." I was completely shocked. We both stood there looking at her wondering what had just happened. Apparently, the promotion that was posted all over their walls and what we had gotten the last week we were in there renting movies, was something that she was not aware of. So.. we put back our candy, popcorn, sodas and 2 movies. We ending up leaving with 3 movies, spending over $15... not really sure what happened and why we didn't get our promotion.

I can tell you one thing... Hollywood Video is looking better and better!
