Bad experience: they deliberately/ carelessly switched out a stereo component which was mostly working for a dead one! I would highly suspect some of the other positive reviews on Yelp of this business.

I dropped off my Lexus 12-disc CD Changer (Panasonic) on 6/14/10 for an estimate for repair- a CD was stuck inside, but it had been functioning correctly besides this issue. They called me with an estimate for repair of $385 on 6/16 which I declined. I picked up a unit which I believed to be mine on 6/18/10. Since I was in a hurry, I did not match the Serial# on the unit agains the invoice. When I tried it in my car later, I found it was completely dead. On checking the serial number and date (1997) on the unit they had given me back, I found it was not my original 1996 unit (as listed on their invoice).
Since they returned the CD magazine & CD I had in my original along with the switched CD changer, it does look like the switch was deliberate.

I contacted them, dropped off this unit they had deceptively switched for mine, and they claim they cannot locate my original unit in their warehouse. They instead try to sell me refurbished units (with a 30-day warranty for $164 or a 1-yr warranty for $285). When asked what parts (new or used) they use in the repair, they decline to be specific.

Short Circuit specializes in audio/video equipment for your home or automobile. They also have a staff who makes repairs too. I had an old cassete player fixed so that I can listen to some of my old recordings when my siblings were younger. I'm trying to transfer them onto CD now. The staff are knowledgeable and easy to approach.
