Total rip-off! This guy has lots of initials after his name, but the websites, titles (Executive Director, Institutes, Centers, Excellence...), YouTubes, self-aggrandizement, debasement of anyone who dare complain, and, the lack of success are readily apparent. You will know somethings "off" about this practice when you drive into the nearly empty parking lot, enter the only medical office in a building filled with real estate brokers and tax firms, and are hit with stacks of legals forms promising payment before you wait HOURS to see the good doctor. And then, you will be directed to his patented MRN provider, where you will pay for an experimental MRI with lots of post-processing, that only the good doctor himself can do, before being sent for MRI guided injections. They won't tell you that almost if not all insurance companies consider this experimental and not medically necessary, so you'll be left with the bulk of the bill. They won't tell you until minutes before that they'll be charging you extra, a lot extra, for use of the one-room surgical center where the expensive injections will be given. You will be told that the injections are both diagnostic and treatment and that they are curative for about 15% of patients, and that the other 85% move on to more costs with surgery at rates 5X what most insurances find reasonable and customary.

And if you read here, and the other review sites, you can see how patients who dare complain are treated. Insults, lies, threats of legal action - all for telling the truth of your experience. But have no fear, Shirlee will file suit against you. For, something. Luckily for all who speak, truth is ample defense.

I was a patient, I was very partially helped by the treatment, I was treated rudely and unprofessionally by Dr. Filler's billing staff including Ms. Shirlee Jackson, and I was left with incredible debt. I was helped far more, at far less cost, by another credible neurosurgeon who employs competent, professional staff and who does not advertise experimental diagnostics and treatment as being main-stream. It is not.

Dr. Filler is a wonderful doctor. A neurosurgeon with both complex spine and peripheral nerve expertise. I would highly recommend as he was able to alleviate sore stiff neck pain that chiropractor and in network doctors could not. It is a shame that patients who steal insurance money and who want free medical device denigrate this doctor. Dr. Kenneth Karger of Arizona who was never a patient but has written a reviw should tell his patients to never pay their bills due to him because that is what he did for his wife after she received excellent care. Kenneth Nimo who as never a patient but who has written a review is even more egregious than Dr. Ken Karger because wife has committed insurance fraud and pocketed
thousands of dollars while not paying for medical services she
received. It is a shame that people who are not even patients and who steal money and try to get out of paying their bills are allowed to write anonymous doctor reviews that actually defame a private person, named Shirlee Jackson. Stay Away from reviews by unprofessional hypocritical doctors and husbands who aid their
wives is theft. Dr. Ken Karger and Kenneth Nimo are in serious legal jeopardy.

Office staff is very unprofessional. Sends billing to wrong address after numerous times giving new address. Billing manager Shirlee Jackson is afraid to talk to you and never calls you back. Threatens her staff with unemployment if they speak to you and not her. Sends a lot of the same bills that were previously paid. Took it upon themselves to charge my credit card without authorization. When we already have a payment arrangement made with a signed contract. They are HAPPY to take your business and money. But once the procedures are done then you are thrown on the back burner.
BE FOREWARNED TO STAY AWAY!!!!

My experience with this facility was less than acceptable. I am sure that Dr. Filler is fine as a doctor (though we had no results and a very dear friend, who recommended them, had surgery with no results). The staff, on the other hand, is difficult to deal with and their ability to actually bill correctly is very very poor. I am also a doctor yet I was unable to actually have a conversation with Dr. Filler concerning my issues and therefore have to resort to a blog. You would think that after $8000 one could actually get the professional courtesy of a doctor to doctor conversation but at the Institute for Nerve Medicine I guess that is not the case. You certainly can in my office.
