The worst shopping experience of my life.\r
Whats wrong with these bunch of pumped up dicks with guns?!\r
The sales people can not answer simple questions or answered the questions with 3rd grade intelligence. If you ask the same question

Rudest sales staff ever! Poor selection of schlock merchandise. Prices at or OVER list price. Stay away - do not go there. Turners is a much better place. LAX Range is a much better place. Big 5 is a much better place. Retting is one of the worst experience ever had as a consumer.

Retting is the worst thing you can do to your wallet.

I had good conversations as long as I was spending money. I went there recently and was YELLED at for DARING to walk in the front door (it was open) before the store "officially" opened. When I went back in for an apology, I was yelled

I went in today, 06/08/2011, to take the handgun safety certificate test. I was informed that if I were to buy a gun that there was a $10 dicount from the certificate fee. After veiwing a selection of guns in the show case, I infomed the employee there that I wasn't sure yet what I wanted and told him I would pay the extra $10 to just to take the test...he responded in an exasperated manner and said, ""It's your money!"" 5 minutes later he returned to inform me that the store only had 40 certificates left and that the owner of Martin B Retting, Inc. is only issuing the certificates to gun purchacers in that store at the time of testing!!\r\nI am not sure how the legalities of all this shake out, but it seems a lot like extortion! I have a call into the Department of Justice as of now.\r\n\r\nEven if they are within thier rights, it's not a good way to keep a friendly nieghborhood atmosphere!!\r\n\r\nNeedless to say I won't be returning to thier business, even if I have to drive to the valley!!\r\n\r\nSomeone open up a gunshop on the west-side please!!\r\n\r\nCan't wait for Turners to re-open!!

I've had nothing but good experiences everytime I go into Rettings. They've got a great selection of all types of firearms and related: black powder, C&R, modern hand and long guns, original war memorabilia, books, optics, cleaning etc.\r\n\r\nI've spent quite a bit of $$$ there already and I'll be the first one to say that their prices are on the higher end but I'd rather plunk down the extra money for convenience and face to face service than deal with the hassle of out of state transfers, paperwork and shipping. I always deal with Doug when it comes to purchasing and paperwork but everyone else in there is helpful and I always see them chatting it up with other customers when I go in. \r\n\r\nBonus for me is that it's right down the street from where I work...sometimes I think it's a curse as well as I usually end up buying something when I had no intention of doing so. Anyways, check it out.

Pros: Great location (for me) , large selection, easygoing vibe and good staff

Cons: on the higher end in terms of price but offset due to convenience and face to face service

I would absolutely avoid Martin B Retting. I've had horrible experiences there and vowed never to go back. Their staff is terrible and extremely rude. Why is it most gun store staff are so condescending? Is my money not green? If they worked in any other business, they'd be fired. Just because they wear a gun a work they think think they're gods?\r\n\r\nI like Turners. I've had only great experiences there with purchases of new guns, ammo, accessories, etc. Very convenient and they have a lot of locations. If they dont' have something for you they can always get it from one of their other stores and have it delivered. I always give them an A plus. \r\n\r\nBottom Line: Don't go to Martin Retting. Drive the extra 20 minutes to Turners in Redondo Beach. I've also heard good things about Bain/Davis in San Gabriel. Avoid Retting.

Pros: Big selection

Cons: TERRIBLE customer service!

Probably the best gun store in southern Cal. Huge selection, good prices and helpful staff. I have purchased several products here and have had no complaints. There are a couple of sour-pusses that work here but generally, most of the staff is great!

I came here looking to purchase my first hunting rifle. The staff was knowledgeable and helpful. They actually started me out by showing me some of the used rifles that would work for my needs. While I was already leaning towards something that needed to be special ordered, it was nice to not be pressured.
