I have to admit that I've never eaten at Alberto's Cantina in downtown Pleasanton...however, we shared a pitcher of mango margaritas there this evening and it was delicious!

I like to eat here because the service is fast. I like that you can eat outside in the summer. The food is good. I usually order the appetizers because the portions are large.

Ratings_icons Very Good Mexicano

While the Blue Agave has the beautiful front lawn for dining, when you're craving Mexican food you're not always looking for a super-fancy dining experience, particularly when you have a toddler in tow. For those times I suggest you saunter down Main St. and try Alberto's Cantina. They start you out with some very fresh salty tortilla chips and some great salsa. These are some of the best tortilla chips I've had in a while. Then they set you up with a tasty margarita and you're off. We also ordered some guacamole to go with the chips which was delicious although we thought the cheese on top of the guac was a bit much. I had the chicken mole for dinner which was quite good - the mole had a little zing to it and my wife had a very fresh tostada salad. The little one had a kid's burrito which was way too big for her. One thing that I've noticed about most Mexican restaurants is that they usually give everyone too much food. They could cut the rice and beans by half and we'd all be fine, and a lot thinner. Perhaps the best part about Alberto's is the wait staff all seem really, really friendly.
