If there were 6 stars I would give Nini's a 6. I try to have breakfast here every time I fly through SFO. Great Breakfasts, Great Service, Original Setting. I love this place!!!

Great breakfast spot! Food has been consistently good and the service is quick and friendly. The menu selection is huge and we've only been there for breakfast. Would love to try their lunch too. THe wait could be long for the weekend but that's just part of the experience. :)

Great atmosphere with home style cooking for many generations. Great spot for breakfastor brunch. Fantastic service. Located in a residential area so parking may be hard to find but its worth it!

Nini's is one of my favorite spots to eat. The line may seem too long to wait for but worth every minute. If you want a good filling breakfast meal-Can I suggest the Wally Steak and EGGS!!

Yes, the lines can get a little long here, but all that shows me is that if people are willing to wait, there must be something good to wait for!

And when I finally was able to experience this place for myself, I was not dissappointed! I usually order eggs benedict wherever I go even though it can be messed up from time to time. At Nini's I loved that the eggs weren't runny at all so that my english muffin didn't get soggy by the time I was able to eat it!

My favorite part is that when you order mimosas, everyone gets their own mini bottle of champagne and then a pitcher of orange juice is provided with that as well. With all that I was expecting to pay $20 for them, but, no! They were closer to about $7. Now that's a good priced drink!

The potatoes with peppers and onions are the best ever (not from a bag out of the freezer)...and so is the wait staff. They are "in tune". We loved the hot thick sourdough toast that always shows up at the perfect time and hot, and the breakfast steak makes your mouth water. We live in Atlanta now and there is nothing to compare. It's always busy on the weekends because the food and the service is consistanly outstanding.

I go to Nini's on a regular basis and it's always good. If you need a filling this is the place to visit. They even have a "lower calorie" menu to choose from. Your options are endless.

Pros: counter seating

Cons: parking on weekends

.

Nini's is a San Mateo institution, a neighborhood joint that's been in the same family for the better part of a century. Full of ambience and charm, its a great breakfast spot...though get their early on weekends or expect to wait. Omelettes and scrambles are a specialty - lunch menu is mostly sandwiches.

PROS: great ambiance, fantastic breakfasts
CONS: often crowded, parking can be tough (but worth it)

A little out of the way for city dwellers, but this is the place for a great breakfast. Try to eat on the patio. It's heated, and covered during the rainy season. Have anything on the menu, but do not miss the onions and peppers in your potatoes! Parking can be a problem on weekends, along with the wait, but it's worth it. Grab a newspaper, and a complimentary cup o' joe, and enjoy the weather.
