Missing Link Bicycle Coop

Not so great
by James H.
The shop isn't cheap. It is technically a coop but doesn't have the perks that many better bike coop have such as trades for cheaper parts. They are snobbish and stand offish. Basically a bunch of pathetic old yuppie has bens that are ripping off Berkeley students. Anything they sell you can get cheaper online.
PROS: Tool shop, but don't ask for help you will get yelled at.
CONS: Mean. Pricey. Holier than though

More expensive than the $125 Huffy at WalMart, you make up for it in the quality of the product and the service.
The folks at Missing Link are concerned with making you the most effective rider you can be. Not certain which bike is appropriate for you? The staff at Missing Link made several bike suggestions than let me take them out on ten-minute test drives around the neighborhood. After the sale, I got a year of free adjustments, for brakes, seat position, etc. to make sure that the bike was properly fitted to me and that I would be comfortable on the bike. Missing Link offers free classes on topics such as brake adjustment, bike selection and how to change a flat tire.
Ill buy my next bike at Missing Link, too.
PROS: great service, adjustments with purchase, classes

The Missing Link is like an institution in Berkeley. Its run as a cooperative, though you wouldn't know it just walking in the door. Not only do they offer low prices on bicycles and accessories, but they will help fit you to the bicycle. Their repair shop is across the street, and is one of the best in town. The only problem is its sometimes too popular. You need to schedule your maintenance visit a couple of weeks in advance. Finally, they are also great on education, offering hands on bicycle workshops on a regular basis.
PROS: Knowledgeable Staff, Reasonable Prices, Good Products
CONS: Sometimes the repair shop gets too busy

I bought my bicycle there and I was extremely impressed by their service. Unlike toy stores, the people working at the Missing Link are actual bicyclicsts and will assist you into buying the perfect bicycle.
Forget going to Walmart to get a bicycle, even if it is a lower, entry level model! You can find a much better deal at a dedicated bicycle store such as Missing Link.
Missing Link also has a great selection.
PROS: Great Selection, Great Service, Great People
CONS: None

I bought my Trek here and I never regretted the purchase. This is a wonderful store with very friendly and knowledgeable sales staff who dont pressure you into buying a bike that you neither can afford or need. They will also repair your bike in the shop in a very prompt manner and can give tips for good cycling areas that suit your ability or skill level.

This store has been in business for 30 years. It has many followers and new customers alike. The people that work at Missing Link are great and will be able to answer all of your questions. They are not only the workers there, but they also are avid bicyclists. So if you need to know what's a good trail to ride, just ask them or pick up one of a number of trail books that are at the store.
The store carries the major brands and they also do repairs. They also have biking gear, clothing, and accessories. They have shocks, pedals, shoes, you name it. I give this place a 2 thumbs up, oh wait this is not a movie review.
PROS: Great service, friendly and knowledgable staff. Oh and pretty good deals there.
