We were celebrating my daughters B-Day last night and a friend came at the end of the meal, due to very bad traffic from the East Bay. He wanted to order some rolls and the server said , "Aren't you done?". I said no that he wanred to order some items. She said the there were 3 people ahead of him. He was sitting at our table and we had just had spent $125.00. She did not serve him. I will never come here again and no one that I know will ever. I have never meet someone so rude and self judgemental in my life. They can go broke and shut down for all I care now. That is not how you treat customers at all.

Pros: none

Cons: 1 star is too much

I've eaten here several times, and the food has always been d-e-l-i-c-i-o-u-s. Fresh and great tasting, and consistent every time. I will always recommend this restaurant!

Pros: I'm very impressed with the quality of food at very reasonable prices

Cons: no waiting area makes it really awkward... make reservations.

This is a cool little spot to grab some sushi and get a little lit. The sushi is amazingly cheap and still really fresh and tastey.
I reccomend getting a bottle of Nigori (unfiltered sake) it's only like $7.00.. delicious and you'll end up pretty buzzed with 2 people.
After you're done, walk on down to the fish bowl like 5 doors down for more drinks and a kickin jukebox.

Pros: Cheap and Yummy!

Cons: Not enough seating

June 13, 2006

Limited seating, and menu is limited to a large variety of sashmi and sushi. Chose this restaurant based on Zagat's review. The fish was fairly fresh, and our experience with the wait staff was no where as bad as previously reviewed. Pricing is very, very inexpensive. Portion size was average. I would go back but certainly would not go out of my way to eat there again - unless I had an extreme craving for large amounts of raw fish.

Pros: Cheap! Children's drawings of Godzilla on the wall

Cons: Limited Menu. Children's drawings of Godzilla on t

Sushi was ok, service was terrible. The waiter dragged his feet and even though we were virtually the only people in the place right at opening time, we sat there for a good ten minutes before our drink order was taken and then another ten before our food order was placed. The food was great, the service slow and indifferent.

Very small, so if you can't be seated right away expect a long wait. Even after being seated, if it's busy expect a long wait. The wait staff was indifferent. Two other parties that were seated AFTER we ordered, had their food before we did. When we finally complained about that, their response was, "Oh". Your best bet is the sushi bar to bypass the incompetent wait staff. If you stop by and it's busy, it's not worth it. If it's not busy, then you get OK sushi. Not great not bad.

Pros: decent sushi

Cons: poor service, indifferent staff, overrated

I've eaten here about 10 times, and I've had excellent experiences with all the sushi i've had. If you know what sushi and sashimi are supposed to be, then you will appreciate this place.

A couple things that i've come to expect from this place is that its not that big inside, so sometimes there may be a wait. Second, the last couple times i've been there, there have been very annoying 'marina-ish' ppl who were loud, obnoxious, rude, and just inconsiderate of others except themselves.

Pros: sushi, casual

Cons: sometimes a wait, sometimes the people

if you're craving sushi, this is not the place to go. Absolutely horrible service; they do not accomodate to-go orders at all. the sushi is fishy at times. not worth it even if it is a bit cheap... you get what you pay for. I'd rather spend a $1.25 on one piece of FRESH sushi from the fish market on Irving than to eat here and endure the horrible wait staff service. they know nothing about how to run a restaurant.

Cons: service, food

There are many fantastic sushi places in the city I have tried. I have always heard about Godzilla, so I gave it a try. The sushi here ranks below all the others. The sushi was a little fishy and the rolls were nothing spectacular. The atompshere was not exciting. The wait staff seemed to be overwhelemed even though the place wasn't entirely full.

Cons: Bad atmosphere, service

I really like this place. We've become regulars and the sushi chefs always welcome us when we walk in. It's cheap, good and relaxing. You just need to know that you may have to wait. It's tiny, so if you are flexible with sitting at a table or the bar, you'll probably be seated sooner. The tuna and fresh salmon are always good. I also would suggest the Kamakazi Roll w/ Hamachi.

Pros: inexpensive, delicious

Cons: not much seating, usually very busy

The fish is always amazing and it's so cheap! The secret to getting a table quickly is come before 7:30. The shiro maguro, fresh salmon and nasu (eggplant nigiri) are my favorites. There's not a lot of ambiance but the service is always at least good if not great.

It looks like some people wouldn't agree with me but I've never had a bad experience here, and I've been going regularly for the past four years...

Pros: food, price, food again

Cons: busy after 7, packed after 8

This place is awesome. The sushi is so so fresh and so cheap. The best sushi in SF by far.

Pros: Price, Fresh food, Creative rolls

Cons: atmosphere

It's on Divisidero-very convienient location. The parking is terrible though. The staff is so busy-they don't bother to tell people there is a waiting list-you actually have to stop a waitress holding drinks to tell her you need to be on the list. The sushi was room temp warm-the crab is "krab"-the spicy tuna roll is mixed & stretched with filler-the rolls are not tight-the unagi is extra fatty and overly sweet-the rice was "brown" so it was like it was scraped from the bottom of the pot...the only good things were the fake "krab" spicy californian rolls and the miso soup. It is busy though. The restaurant needs a makeover-bad godzillas on the wall-chipping formica counter tops (no-they are not going for camp-it's actual serious painting) They don't serve water-so ask for it. We tipped well-the servers were doing the best they could...but...
we will not go back.

They offer a nice sushi/sashimi selection at Godzilla. Some of the rolls are a twist on the traditional. 3 of us ate and drank for just over $80, which is reasonable for the quality. Not much ambiance, but will likely visit again. There could be a wait due to limited seating.

Godzilla sushi is not as good as everyone says it is.
