My husband and I enjoy coming here for Sunday Brunch. The food and service are both good. We love the view on the patio of the sailboats entering and leaving the harbor and there is usually a solo guitarist out there as well.

The downside is that the choices are limited and the place needs refurbishing,

WARNING:
Try not to get a table with the waitress who has long brown hair (she usually works the patio on Sundays). She is cute and nice enough when she occasionally shows up at your table. However, most of the time she walks right by you while your glass sits empty. She ignores your gestures or polite calls to her. You have to get in her face to get her attention that you need service. She consistently forgets to bring your first course of pastries and fresh fruit, and never asks if you need condiments with your meal or sweetener for your iced tea. I want to give her more than a 15% tip, but honestly she just does not earn it.

Pros: Great View on the Patio for Sunday Brunch

Cons: Needs Refurbishing (and one waitress needs retraining)

The Beach House is a decent restaurant. They have weekday sunset specials that offer a great value on entrees such as Potato crusted halibut in mango sauce. Ive been let down more than once though as the food is a little on the bland side.

Yes, I know what you're thinking. When my friend suggested The Beach House in Dana Point, I also imagined rich senior citizens in plaid golf wear.

Yeah, yeah the food's good. Before our meals, the staff brought us a variety of pastries. But let's talk about the endless champagne (until 4:00, that is) that came with the champagne brunch we had on Sunday. Hallelujah! Even those two drinks away from having to attend an AA meeting were like, "More champagne?" And for those who need to justify all that drinking with something healthy, orange juice is also a-flowin' at The Beach House.

Fine, let's talk about the meal itself. I had the Tomato Bruschetta Omelet. It was good, but there was a scandalous lack of basil. Someone else had steak the size of my face (which is approximately the size of a moon) and he said it was OK. My friend to the left of me had some sort of steak and hash combination, which, to tell the truth, looked frightening. But she ate it with no complaints, which is no small occasion. My friend to the right of me was picking at her mushroom crepe, which looked mouth-watering and made me wonder if the 2.5+ karat on her ring finger was making it too difficult to lift the fork.

You will adore me for this suggestion: For some reason the wait to sit inside was more than 40 minutes and since the lot of us were impatient, we opted to sit outside in their patio. Except for the initial fishy smell, which I swear you get used to in two minutes, it was actually quite wonderful. Since this outing, I've declared all meals should now be eaten outdoors. For cooler days and evenings, they have heat lamps.

Oh, watch out. Some of their tables have a flimsy metal ring that makes a lot of noise when diners drunk on champagne want to make a point about this and that.

By the way, yes, there were rich senior citizens in plaid golf wear. But did you expect a Hawaiian/folk singer serenading you?

Nice view of the ocean and great service. The waiters were quick with our food and drinks and very polite. There is a crowd on weekends so make reservations.

I went here for a company party in December and really liked it. We had prompt drink service and decent appetizers, and the view was stunning. The patio was heated, but the staff turned off the lamps as soon as it got too warm. Almost everyone ordered the seafood pasta, and was dissappointed. I think the beef was better, though I'm not sure. We had a good time, nice location, nice service. When one of my coworkers decided to eat my dessert when I got up to use the bathroom the waiter was nice enough to bring another :P I recommend it for group events.

The Beach House offers a wide variety of seafood dishes! Just because its by the beach, their menu items is not only limited to seafood. They have sandwiches, chicken or even prime rib. They have It is right next to the beach and some tables has really beautiful views! It's best to go during sunset as the view is absolutely gorgeous. They have live entertainment on weekends and they even have kids meal!

It was an awful experience. First they messed up my cocktail by giving me some other brand then what I asked for and not letting me know, thinking that I will have no clue about it. Then when we got our menus, instead of letting us know what they are out of, we pretty much had to try to order it first, and then the waitress will tell us that they are out of it. And then we finally made our selections, the waitress took the order and came back 5 mins later, and said "we are out of that, can we subsitute it with this instead." Come on get a clue, wouldn't you know what you have, and what you don't have? I would not recommend by enemies to this place. I will never go back.

Pros: Good valets

Cons: , Bad service, Bad service
