I've belonged to lots of gyms over the years and I am really happy with this one. They do an excellent job of keeping the place clean (at LEAST one person is on duty all the time JUST CLEANING the gym). When something breaks, they fix it right away.

The pool seems really nice (I've never used it, but I've never seen it completely full either - though it does get used all day).

Locker rooms are always very clean.

I don't use daycare, so I don't know what the deal is there (ages, price, etc?) but the people running the kids seem pretty nice.

But best of all is there's a large number of all types of equipment, lots of free weights and LOTS of room, so you don't feel crammed into the place, even when it's busy.

They share a parking lot with the bowling alley (though "technically" you aren't supposed to park there - there's ALWAYS a spot somewhere).

Very good, I just hope they manage to keep the price down as that's the only thing that would blow it. They're on the top end of the range now - at least for me. But there is a bit of that "get what you pay for" - even so, if it goes too high, I know I'd find somewhere else.

I visited Club One when I was looking for a new gym. I was very impressed with the cleanliness of the gym, especially the women's locker room. It was clean and roomy. They offer day care up to age 10 which is a huge advantage for parents over the summer. I didn't join this gym because it was a little too far away, and the parking lot looked a too crowded.

I had been going to Club One Almaden Valley for 2 years. I find the staff and the members to be friendly and supportive. What I liked most about this club is the enthusiasm and the energy of the group exercise instructors. They really make the classes fun. However, it is not a family-friendly facility and that is a minus for parents who have kids in the tween ages - not young enough to be left in the daycare (only for ages 0 to 9) but not old enough to be left at home. Also, the ladies' locker room and showers could use some updating.

Our experience @ Santanna Row began with a free pass that myself & friend shared--to try it out.
The yoga studio & interiors are very nice. The yoga was okay, but with a gym-like practice.
I had called before about mats, and they told me that they had mats. However, when we get there they do not have mats to use.
We also had to give a lot of personal-information to get into the club & were told that since we weren't members, we may steal something (yes we were told this--even though we were "trying out" the club (ie. we were potential CUSTOMERS)). When we spoke with the manager about what they would actually do with this information, we were told that it would be shredded at the end of the night. We then asked why they needed the information and were told that if something goes missing, then they needed to find us (as if the club's members can't steal something), we were also told that it was for "our protection". I was just offended that when we tried out the club, it was implied that we would steal something. The manager could also not keep her story straight about and come up with a credible reason as to why we needed to provide our driver's license number, birthdate, phone number & address. It basically seemed like they needed our information because that was their policy (which would've been ok, if the manager had seen fit to tell us that...).
Overall, I found the staff at Club One Santanna Row to be untrustworthy (or just out to lunch) and offensive.

Pros: nice and new club, nice interior, steam rooms

Cons: staff

Club One at Santana Row is a step above the rest, with beautiful interiors, top-of-the-line equipment, the most educated trainers, and generous amenities. And the dues are quite reasonable for such a high quality health club. Did I mention there is spa and massage here as well?

Pros: beautiful interiors, personal televisions, not too crowded
