I have been to Thai Basil several times now and I absolutely love it. The atmosphere is lovely and the staff are friendly. The food is delicious as well. It is a little bit cramped inside, but it's a small price to pay for such a good restaurant.

My experience at Thai Basil was fine. We had a table outside in the back. It was a little noisy, but the place was packed. The food was very good as was our waiter.

We had dinner at the J Street restaurant. This was my second opportunity to try Thai Basil. The first experience was lackluster, the second was worse. I have several issues with this restaurant. The first issue was the noise level. Most Asian restaurants, specifically Thai restaurants, pride themselves in a nice quiet soothing atmosphere so that one can actually enjoy their food. Wait staff tend to hover in the background quietly. Not at Thai Basil. At Thai Basil, the six to eight assorted wait staff, hostesses and bus boys tend to hover near the register and talk and laugh at such an elevated volume, as if no one else was in the restaurant. The volume of their conversation was so loud, I couldn't even hear the music playing in the background. The second issue occured when we placed our order. My girlfriend asked if we could order a side of Jasmine rice. The waitress reminded her that my order came with Jasmine rice. My girlfriend smiled and said, 'Yes, I understand. Can we have an additional side of rice, please?'. The waitress seemed to understand and scurried off to place our order. When our food arrived, there was no additional side of rice. When I inquired about it, the waitress asked, 'You'd like more rice?'. I said, 'Yes, we ordered a side of rice. May we have that?'. Off she went to place the order. After fifteen more minutes and no rice, I flagged our waitress to cancel the order. Her response? 'I never put the order in'. No apologies, no explanation. WTF? And you want my repeat business? Unless some serious business practices are changed in this restaurant, I don't see myself ever coming back, which is unfortunate for Thai Basil because I like to eat Thai at least once a week.

Decided to visit based on the only other review. Found it to be very noisy, The table spacing is tight and the kitchen is open to the dining area. Staff not attentive. Walked out.

I had the drunken noodles, it's very good and tasty but the portion is too small. I know I ordered a small.. but still, the portion is too little. This place is pricier than other thai places. Good service though.

Out of the 5 Thai restaurants I have tried in the Sacramento Area, this is the best one. The service was great and most of all the food was excellent. It was so good I almost ordered another serving so I could take home and have the next day. The prices are reasonable and the atmosphere is very nice. Highly recommended.

PROS: The food
CONS: none

I have been here so many times and they are always so pleasant. Their food is fantastic, full of flavour, and there is something on the menu for everyone. I have ordered take out several times and they are quick. They cannot make bad food!! I highly recommend dining here. The one in Elk Grove is great too.

This place is small and quaint feeling... The food is excellent and spicey. Service is pretty quick most of the time. Sometimes you have to wait to be seated (especially at lunch), but that's only because their tasty dishes have been discovered. I love it here.
