I'm really surprised that Something's Fishy only got an overall 3/5 star rating. I love this place!! The Hibachi is excellent, and I've always enjoyed the sushi too!! My favorite Hibachi meal: Scallops and Rib Eye, and I love the salad, fried rice, soup, and veggies!! We go here all the time for birthdays and other special occasions. It really is a treat!! And it's a lot of fun to indulge in a couple sake bombs. Expect to spend some money, but you won't regret it considering how delicious the foods is!

something fishy is by far the best place to go once you walk in you get the 5 star service. I love the services that my waiter Fabian gives to me, he goes above and beyond.

good place, gave me sushi rolls instead of sushi, but it was all good and there was plenty of food. It just didn't stand out among any other hibachi resturants.

Pros: lots of food

Cons: nothing special

there's nothing like it in santa barbara, which is why it is always busy. but the food is not that great. i've had much better for a wayyyyy better price. everything is over priced. i think it's just a bad version of benihana

I have patronized this restaurant since 1994, and regretfully will no longer visit it. At its best, it served very good sushi and meals, and its service was friendly and fast. Over the past year, I've seen a marked decline in both food and service. Three times I visited the sushi bar and found it unattended. I waited for nearly 20 minutes before asking the waitress if I could order from the grill. Two other times chefs were working, but didn't come by, so again I had to order from the grill. One of the few times I did get to order sushi, I received dry mackerel that crumbled when I bit into it. During my most recent visit, I couldn't get a sushi chef to come by so again ordered from the grill. At lunch a meal of steak, scallops, and shrimp is $17.99. At dinner a steak and scallop meal costs $28.99. Though the waitress said the dinner platter would be larger, it was the same size as the lunch platter, just $11 more expensive. And the food was lackluster -- it included "shrimp flambe'" which actually consisted of two teeny 2" shrimp wedged into rice. I'll never be back. Sad to see a restaurant change for the worse like this.

Pros: Central downtown location

Cons: Declining food quality and service

We love Sushi, and this place has by far the best Sushi in SB.
First their quality is good
Second (and most important) they have HALF OFF SUSHI Mondays through Thursdays. So we fill up on sushi for about $10 a person.
On weekends and Friday they have all you can eat sushi, which we tried once but isn't that great of a value because it is expensive. ($21+)
Their non-sushi food items are decent but I wouldn't vouche for

PROS: Half off sushi
CONS: Long wait if coming after 6:30 or so

Order tepanyaki buffer and u will see the art of cooking attraction. The chef will cook in front of your table using their ability to cook. It is fun. The taste is about the average but this restaurant is the only tepanyaki buffet in town.

This restaurant is always full all the time maybe it is because they have tepanyaki buffet that other restaurants don't have. The taste for tepanyaki is about average. However, the sushi and maki sushi are so awesome. In the weekdays, you will get also 50 % off. I can make sure all the sushi that i eat are fresh...and they are awesome....Price is good...Service is always good although the waitrers/ waitresses are busy

This is a fun restaurant to go to with lots of friends. Your food is cooked at your table over a hot grill, while your chef entertains you with knife tricks, throwing the pepper behind his backect. This is also the best restaurant to go Sake bombing. Sometimes competitions start between tables over who can drink theirs the loudest, your waiter might join in too. The halibut is also really good.
