I've been to The Clever Shepherd about two times and the experiences I had were alright. When I entered the store, no one seemed to notice me, which was great for me because I like to browse for things myself. I do have to admit they have a nice variety of clothes, and I especially liked the sweaters and shirts they had. But, the problem that I saw was that the prices were a little too expensive for the clothing they had in the store. I did end up buying one sweater both times I went, but that's because i was planning to wear them for a semi-sepcail occasion.

They do have beautiful sweaters, but you pay for it. Then again, it will cost you more to get the yarns yourself and that assumes you have the skill to make them yourself (I don't). I was a little disappointed so many sweaters that were not that interesting (could have found some like them at Ann Taylor or Banana Republic). The clerk didn't even acknowledge me when I went in, but I chalk that up to the fact that it's in Ghiradelli Square and they get too many browsers to bother.

Walking into this store feels like walking into a herd of sheep. Most of the sweaters, gloves, and socks are all made at least partly of wool. Some of them look very fluffy and comfortable, others look downright itchy. I think the underlying theme is that these designs originated in the UK where the winters are far colder than here in the bay area. If you really love wool in any form, this store is for you.
