I took my 8-year-old daughter to this dentist, Dr. Bobby Afrooz, to have two teeth extracted. In the process he broke one of her lower front adult teeth. I didn't know about it until we were walking out of the office, when my daughter said "I am mad at that dentist. He broke my front tooth!" I bent down to look and sure enough, the tooth was broken. I called the office immediately when I got home and was told the dentist would call me back, but he never did. I brought her in a week later when my son had an appointment, and I showed the dentist the broken tooth. He denied the whole thing, refused to address her issue at all, and then refused to complete my son's treatment, two fillings. This so-called dentist should have his license revoked. Beyond that, the rest of the office is a disorganized mess. Every one of our visits took over two hours. None of the employees seemed to know what any of the others were doing or what schedule to follow. Never, ever going back. Prospective patient beware!

Few weeks ago I went for cleaning he spent 30-45min. on my teeth. Yesterday, I went for my new braces she showed me 1/2 inch tartar built up behind my teeth. I ended up $650.00 out of pocket for doing same thing with different doctor. This place is a waste of time, for FREE I wouldn't go there. Several times left a message for office manager and I am still empty handed. STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE.

As far as the dental work I had done, they were fine. They put a cap on a broken tooth and I was in and out of there pretty fast. \n\nThe horror came 3 years later when I got a bill in the mail for an unreasonably high amount of money. Apparently they had some trouble with my insurance company but waited 3 years to get back in touch with me about the issue! At that point the bill was even higher and they continued to add on fees for late payment. When I called to ask for a detailed record of my insurance refusal and them trying to track me down they wouldn't send it to me. \n\nThis place is a ripoff, I do not recommend it. They will swindle every last dollar out of you.

Castle Dental should be called Another Day Another Dollar Dental, really; they should look into changing the name for accuracy. They absolutely and totally suck. I went there 2 get a filling changed in on a molar tooth. Not only did they try 2 scare my mom and me into paying for uneccessary services that were not covered by my insurance, they also filled my tooth in such a hurried, and painfully rough manner that oh yeah, it "didn't take" so they had 2 redo the whole painful procedure again, DRILLING AND ALL. Well I left Castle Dental that day w/a very sore mouth, uncertainty w/the filling I recieved, and tears in my eyes. DO NOT GO there, please.

I initially selected this dentist because it was close to my soon-to-be wife's office. It was my mistake that I didn't vet them, but I've never really had a bad experience with a dentist...

The first time I scheduled an appointment was due to an emergency - I cracked my tooth and had to rush to get it taken care of since I was leaving in a few days on a business trip. I showed up to the office and though it was crowded, they got me into a chair reasonably fast to look over my mouth. They confirmed my assumption that I'd need a root canal and we scheduled it for the following week.

I showed up at the root canal 15 minutes early and it was during the office lunch break. I was the only patient there. I let them finish their lunch and watched as they began to run around the office trying to find my chart. Apparently it had been lost. 35 minutes later, I watched patient after patient enter and promptly be ushered to the back area. Finally, an hour after I arrived they decided to just put me in a chair in the back and took a second set of x-rays (the first were in my "lost" file), then I waited another 45 minutes for them to acknowledge me. Finally the oral surgeon comes in and looks at the x-rays and tells me I'm going to need a root canal. well, DUH! that's why I was there in the first place! The problem was that by this point I had been in the office for 2.5 hours, AND the surgeon didn't have time to perform my root canal because she had to leave at a certain time that day.

I went and spoke with the office manager, who seemed somewhat sympathetic and tried to schedule another appointment. The problem, though, was that due to how they work I wouldn't be able to get another root canal appointment for AT LEAST a month. This was no good being that I was leaving town in two weeks for MY WEDDING! Let's not forget that my tooth was cracked in half and was somewhat painful.

Well, thanks to them I had to spend my wedding and honeymoon with a sore mouth. I did eventually get the root canal done by them, but I can't say they did a good job - my crown cracked this morning and now I have to scramble to get it fixed before I leave tomorrow on another trip.

the synopsis - DO NOT GO HERE. All the other reviews on this page are accurate. They just try to herd as many people in to make more money and won't have any concern about your well being.

The first two times I went there (first one for initial exam and x-rays, second for cleaning), the service was prompt and excellent. However, the third time was terrible.

On the day of my third visit, I googled Castle Dental to get the address, since it??s been several months since my last visit. I looked at the negative reviews people wrote about this office and couldn??t believe them because my two previous experiences were positive. Ironically, after this third visit, I am one of those writing such negative review.

I made this appt. for teeth cleaning at least 2 months in advance. I arrived 10 minutes before the appt. time, but waited 50 minutes before I was called in. All 10+ seats were taken. A man offered his seat to a lady; he mentioned that he was there more than 2 hours already.

When the dental assistant tried to prep the station for teeth exam, I told her that I came in for a teeth cleaning, not an exam. She showed me a printout from the "corporate office" that showed that I made an appt. for teeth exam. I explained that when I called the dental office to schedule an appt. for the earliest date possible, the lady pulled my record, found the date of my last teeth cleaning, and informed me that my dental HMO allowed teeth cleaning every 6 months. She said because my last cleaning was less than 6 months ago, I had to wait until certain date; I chose from the dates she offered. So unless she clicked the wrong choice on her computer reservation system, there shouldn't have been a mistake about the appointment for teeth cleaning.

Anyway, the dental assistant came back with the dentist and the receptionist. I asked them whether I can forego the exam and get the teeth cleaning. They said the hygenist was already booked and therefore couldn??t accommodate my request. They also said I would have to make another appointment to get the teeth cleaning. All three blamed the "corporate office" and said that people there sometimes make mistakes, patients get upset, and staff in the dental office gets the blame. (Incidentally, the ??corporate office??s? phone number had (818) area code, same as the Burbank area code, instead of the usual (800) area code one would expect from the true corporate call center.) I also noticed, as I was waiting in the office for 50 minutes, that the receptionist was answering the phone calls, some of them to discuss appointment schedule. Their constant mention of "corporate office" just made be not believe in anything they were telling me.

The dentist informed me that it was their standard practice to get an exam before the teeth cleaning, and used the analogy of doctor examining a patient before writing a prescription for antibiotics. I??ve gone to several dental offices in my lifetime, and it wasn??t their standard practice to get an exam before teeth cleaning (unless it was my first time visiting that office). I felt like the dentist was giving me a B.S. line (how many other previous patients heard the same line?) and decided to take my business elsewhere.

Although I don??t have a proof of this, I suspect that this office treats news patients with prompt service and fast appt. dates, while existing patients get overbooked into their appt. schedule. I also suspect that this office tries to ?book? patients for dental exams, whether they requested it or not, in order to increase revenue by billing dental HMOs or government health agencies for this additional "service." When there is a complaint by the patient, huddle up so that each staff member serves as a "witness" and blame SNAFUs on the "corporate office." Finally, I noticed that nearly all the waiting patients were Latino and other minorities. Would the level of service have been different if the patients were mostly white or from more affluent communities?

We have been here twice...and both times we have waited for almost an hour each time. The customer service is horrible and BOTH ROOT CANALS THEY PERFORMED ON MY HUSBAND BECAME INFECTED WITHIN A YEAR AND RESULTED IN TONS OF $$$ IN ANTIBIOTICS AND HIS TEETH BEING PULLED OUT.

PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE THINK TWICE BEFORE GOING HERE. I DONT WANT YOU TO GO THROUGH THE PAIN THAT WE HAVE BEEN THROUGH.

This place has the most worst customer service you could ever imagine. Even if you schedule an appointment, they will make you wait at least 2 hours.. I did a big mistake by going there. I should have searched before for all the reviews. Wow. They still get patients.. Unbelievable!!!
Never go there.. They will rip you off and waste your time. Find a better Dentist around your area... NOT THESE GUYS...

Do not, I repeat do not go to Castle Dental. They completely took advantage of us, of our insurance company and we would never recomend or go back ourselves. You will pay high fees and they will not disclose all information needed. They take forever to take you in, the receptionist rude and unpersonable.

Always a long wait, & the waiting room is not very comfortable. The cleanings are average. It seems like they are just trying to get you in and out. My daughter and I switched dentists before getting any major work done there...we found way better care elsewhere.

PROS: Weekend appointments, easy parking provided for free.
CONS: Longs waits, average cleanings.

I do not like this dental place. The first time that I went to this place I had to have a deep cleaning. Before the dentist had done my deep cleaning she had asked me if I wanted this medicine after the procedure. She said it was to help with my gums soit is not sore after the cleaning. She had told me that my insurance did not cover it and I had to pay 75.00 out of my own pocket. At first I was like no way but then she made me seem like I really needed it so I got it.
I went home and I told my friend who was a dental hygienist what I had paid for and she said that I did not really need it and that they were trying to just make money. I felt ripped off and I would not recommend this place to anyone. They are big coporation and all they want is money
