I've been a member of this organization for fourteen years and I'm almost ashamed to admit it. I like the fact that there are so many clubs and no matter where I am I can pretty much work out. But that's where the accolates stop. This company seems to pride itself on mediocrity, and it's been that way ever since I've joined. It's business strategy seems to be to attract younger people who don't notice or care about customer service and who are tantalized by the ""pick up"" energy that prevails at every single one of these clubs I've ever been to. The unkempt and actually dirty bathrooms and shower areas are now legendary with this company, and that includes the often filthy and unattended spas and saunas. Gross! But you gotta hand it to the owners, they have figured out how to keep their niche busness without invesing in what would seem to be at least relative standards of quality, and the way to do that is to cater to young people who don't seem to care or know the difference. To some degree it's our fault that this organization remains successful given its sub par service and poor facilities. Shame on us!

Pros: inexpensive and available

Cons: uninformed staff, poorly maintained equipment, unclean facilities

I use the gym on Center Pkwy. They now lock up the mats so you can't do any floor exercises. There are no small weights available. They say people steal them but is that the members problems? Emails and calls to the corporate office go unanswered. Worst customer service I have ever experienced.

i'm a student and couldn't afford gold's gym in natomas or the cal fit gyms. i got an okay deal at 24 but the startup is ridiculous (80bux) and 20 bux a month for 4 days a week. the bad is that the locker rooms are so small for the traffic that is at this location and it does not have adequate ventilation or maintenance. the urinals/toilets are separate from the sinks so many guys will not walk around the wall to wash their hands. i was afraid I was going to get athlete's foot from walking from my locker to the showers. the showers looked like sac state dorm showers and there are not enough during peak times ( i had to wait to get in) and then when i did get in there was no body soap. no towels are provided I don't know who designed this gym or who is managing it, but geez this place is seriously lacking. You have to give a 30-day notice to cancel. if you decide to cancel, be aware that it was harder to cancel than my gym membership than it was to leave AOL. I liked that no matter what time of the day or night I went there was always people there.

I've been a member for over 6 months now and am seriously looking elsewhere but options are grim. Staff is ""OK"" on a good day. Phones do not answer when no one's around; NO INFORMATION AVAILABLE for holiday schedules! Showers need thorough cleaning. In jacuzzi or sauna you're subjected to ""meat market"" mentality. Machines are very tightly spaced. No other options for this type of facility available without paying an arm and a leg for Capital Athletic Club. Suggestion? CREATE ANOTHER HEALTH CLUB IN THIS AREA! Many new work/live condos rising w/people w/out cars to commute.

This location in Sacramento is within Walking Distance of the light rail stop at St Rose Lima. It is a very large location that has new equipment, and also new swimming pool. The location has a well educated support staff to help in the weight loss needs or just for toning up.

They only ever have on ESPN and never news. No Towel Service included. No Key holding service. Have to use a locker to store your things. No toe straps on bikes. \n\nPushy sales oriented staff.
