This adorable two story cafe is open from 6am to 2am, making it one of the best places to go at any time of the day. Since it is in the heart of La Jolla, it is one of the best places to go to late at night. Besides having a gorgeous view

I have been here a few times and the waiting time is a little longer than expected, parking is non existant, cakes and coffee is decent , a tad pricey , sucks that you cant sit outside without inhaling all the 2nd hand smoke, at least you get to sit out there on Prospect and watch all the cool people walk by.

This adorable two story cafe is open from 6am to 2am, making it one of the best places to go at any time of the day. Since it is in the heart of La Jolla, it is one of the best places to go to late at night. Besides having a gorgeous view of the ocean, The Living Room Coffee House has pretty much anything you could ever want when it comes to food and drink. Some of the most popular cafe drinks include the Milky Way Mocha, the California Mocha, and even their standard brewed coffee. The manager, Rita, explains that they brew their coffee, which is a European blend, every 10 minutes, and it is always fresh and delicious. In addition to their cafe drinks, they offer a full breakfast, lunch, and dinner menu as well as smoothies, wine and beer. If that weren't enough, they also have an array of desserts made by a Swiss chef, and also a full bar. Upstairs there is a hookah lounge, ocean room, and cigar room. So whether you want an early morning coffee or a late night cocktail, The Living Room has quality beverages and food that will satisfy any craving.

A very cozy little place. It is very hard to see off the street but it is definitely worth the stop if you're in La Jolla. Decor is nice and place inside is full of furniture that you would see in the living room. The patio is also very nice to sit on a nice day. Parking can be a problem on a weekend and we had to wait quite a bit for our food during a busy time.

This place is really cool, definitely blows Starbucks out of the water. They have a Hookah bar and regular bar upstairs...check this one out!

Cons: Parking...maybe

I come here during the day time before work. The service is great and always friendly. There aren't too many places where I can tell the worker that "I'll have my usual." And that means a lot to me. My usual of course is their Mocha Freeze. It gives me the required caffeine boost I need to start off my morning and yet keeps me cool under the San Diego sun. Sometimes I even get the Banana Mocha Freeze which is just as good.

Bad Hookah, Bad Service, Bad atmosphere, just bad bad bad! San Diego does not know how to run a proper hookah lounge! The staff is rude, the music was bad... I don't know how anyone can enjoy this place.

I come to this place just as much as a enter my own living room-which is often. They offer different coffees, foods, teas, alcoholic beverages, and even hookah!
This is the place i go to sit down, have a tea, a hookah and relax. The one problem is that they only offer hookah outside, so if its a cold or rainy day, kiss this place good bye until it warms up.

the living room is a nice place to do homework, hang out, dine, whatever you want to do. it's all very good. the nice plushy decore really makes it feel like a giant mass of living rooms all put together. the food is fairly good, but with a standard la jolla price which is cringe worthy but hey it's la jolla. the best part about the place is that it is open into the late night. i think it closes around midnight or so. just don't try to order food there late because they tend to run out of stuff. as a result, you get even less food for a minimally cut down price. not as worth it. but if you just want a late night place to hang out with friends or to have a study group this is definitely it.

The living room here is very crowded on most nights with odd table arrangements in their crowded space. the baristas are usually unfriendly and most of the time can't make a drink right.

This is THE place to study for many a UCSD student. At some point during your college career at that campus, you will hear that one should be studying at the Living Room. Why? I'm not exactly sure. The Living Room is indeed a nice places, roomy, with some comfortable chairs (although some not so comfortable). The coffee isn't bad, the food is decent. The coffee however is also expensive, and is not significantly better than other independent coffee houses. Same with the food portions, only they are also very small. Still, downtown La Jolla is a nice place to be, and walking around after a few hours of studying, can be relaxing.

PROS: The Location, pleasant environment
CONS: Expensive

This fun coffee house in downtown La Jolla features wonderfully brewed coffee and delicious pastries, including an especially great fruit tart. Comfortably inviting couches and arm chairs cover the single story flat. It's the perfect location for some coffee house studying, hanging out with friends, or taking advantage of games and books from the Living Room shelves. I personally like to order their hot chocolate with whipped cream in the evenings if I don't want to be awake all night.

The Living Room has really good food and excellent coffee, all of which is reasonably priced. This location in particular is nice because it has outdoor, bistro style tables as well as indoor tables that look out unto the ocean. This is one of the few budget restaurants in this part of La Jolla. It's generally full of tourists and students, but it's a cool place to have a quick meal, cup of coffee, or to hang out and study.

There are a few different Living Room locations around town, but the La Jolla one is definitely my favorite. The sandwiches are great, the coffee is hot, and the baklava is spectacular. But what makes this location is the view. Along the back of the dining area are huge windows with a view of the ocean over the houses below. So nice on a warm summer day with nothing better to do than drink coffee and read on a worn, comfy couch.

PROS: Baklava and a large cafe mocha. Need I say more?
CONS: Parking in La Jolla is always dreadful
