First visit, ok. So far, so good. I came from several "Horror" story dental offices that tried to scam me because my insurance is apparently so "bad" and thus, I needed to pay LOTS of EXTRA costs. Sure. This time, I knew my schedule of benefits and there were no surprises. The Dr. I saw was not very friendly, but seemed quite clinical and competent. Great! That's what I came for! Going back in a few weeks.

DON'T GO THERE 1 STAR
By Audrey G. Dental Center-W Los Angeles

I've been there many times only due to Maggie, the stellar hygienist. Dr. Slutsy has no affinity with people and treats them like cattle. There was another Dentist, Dr. Riman, who messed up my filling and I lost the tooth due to infection. When I repeatedly called their patient emergency line because of the pain and swelling, no one ever called me back. I had to find a dentist on the weekend, who was appalled when she saw the condition of my gums around the tooth. AND THERE IS SO MUCH UPSELLING HERE, THAT THIS OFFICE HAS COST ME A LOT OF $$. Especially for that gum treatment that gets injected - I found out later that I wasted my money on this unproven treatment. Posted

ir teeth. I have hardly used it. Oh, and once, they tried to sell me a Phillips electric toothbrush package on my way out. Very cheesy. I had already bought one at Bed, Bath and Beyond (for less, I suspect). I'm finding a new dentist that I can trust.

I would also agree with the bad reviews of the other reviewers. I accompanied my friend to this dental place, and they tried to rip her off from start to finish. They started by making her feel like her teeth were in very bad shape and needed a lot of medical attention. I told her to ask for second opinion before she took this major action. It turned out that their quote was way more than another office dentist and she didn't really need all that they were suggesting. DONT GO THERE!!!

BEWARE of RIP-OFF ARTISTS 1 STAR

I agree with the other reviewer. I have been to this dentist office. They told me I had to have a special night time mouth guard because I was grinding my teeth. They charged me $700 and another $80 for teeth cleaning even with insurance. I hadn't been to the dentist is YEARS so I got sucked in. It will not happen again. They tried to sell me the kitchen sink too. Don't go there.

PROS: Real profession. They will make you comfortable.
CONS: They will try to take you for every dime they can get.

A MUST AVOID! Bordering on malpractice. 1 STAR

This dental office really knows how to make money, unfortunately it will come at the patients expense. They try to sell you everything and the kitchen sink such as tooth whitening and nighttime mouthguards. After having spoken to other patients with perfect teeth it appears as though this office may even intentionally mis-diagnose you to sell you more services. You might call them ultra-careful, I call it a very dishonest business practice.

PROS: Might discover a problem you didn't know you had.
CONS: Might discover a problem you didn't know you had (and don't have).

I used to go to this office a few years ago and had a terrible experience due to a rude older lady. She tried to oversell me on everything.
I recently developed a toothache and had to go back as they were the only office near my work that took my insurance. Thank goodness that old woman is gone! They took care of my problem and I wasn't over charged or pressured. The staff was great and so was Dr. Jacob! Overall, it was a much better experience.
