I've eaten at dozens of sushi restarants in the San Diego area, and would consider Leucadia Sushi to have the best sushi in this area. The owner/chef, Toshi, has created numerous unique dishes which have eclipsed what I've experienced in even the priciest places. Especially good choices are the Pink Roll (tempura fried salmon roll with avocado), and Lobster Dynamite (lobster roll with asparagus and spicy mayo - baked and hot).

The atmosphere is very casual, almost having the feel of a neighborhood pub. Service can sometimes be slow, but has always been friendly.

This place is a gem!

PROS: Fresh, fast, distinctive, attention to detail and quality

We went to this restaurant once and have not been back as we were not very impressed with the quality of the sushi. It was not bad sushi, but compared to other places around here, it definitely lacked that oomph.

The edamame was lukewarm and considering we were the first people in there, it should have been fresh.

The concept is neat, as you can sit around this belt that brings the sushi to you and if you want something special, you just ask one of the sushi chefs. Otherwise, you just grab what looks good to you.

Since they charge by the plate color, you end up with a stack of plates in front of you while you're trying to eat. Not easy when you're dining with 4 people.

All in all, a different experience because of the sushi belt, but I would not go back there again.
