Nordstrom

I love Nordstrom's! The sales associates are super sweet, and will go out of there way to help you find something. The Nordstrom's cafe has delicious food when you're done shopping. It is an overall excellent store.

This is my favorite store. I'm there Saturday killing time while my wife buys for the up coming cruise. I get a cup of coffee near the front door at the little coffee shop called eBar which is part of Nordstrom. They I relax at one of the little tables just outside on the mall. Best part is the people watching. I love San Diego. The I go in to check out some of the men's things. Piano music is playing. As I get off the escalator on the second floor the piano appears along with the guy playing the music; I know - nice place with there on entertainment while you shop. I walk ahead and through the more formal part of the men's departments (tux, suit, etc.) and take the stairs to the casual section. After looking around I find a chair by the entrance to the cafe. A lovely Nordstrom associate asks me if she can help me find anything. "My wife, but I think she will show up eventually anyway." She laughs and tells me how nice it is to accompany my wife. (Here is where I tell you again how much I like Nordstroms!) The chair is very comfortable and has a little table for the coffee. After ten minutes of looking in wonder at this really cool place I stroll back down towards the coffee shop and past the women's shoes. A live model is there to greet everyone. She adds that little something special, Nordstrom special. I return to the patio area and wait. Mostly that is my job when shopping with my wife. Mostly. I also give compliments at what she has purchased and I carry things back to the car. All good by the way. It is my thing after all!

Nordstrom, although pricey at first look is well worth it. The quality is very good and the customer service is excellent. The selection of clothing is also very wide.

Typically I've been impressed with the service at this location. They are very customer service oriented. But one time some friends of mine were feeling a little crazy and dressed up in funny clothes and hit the mall. One of the girls in the group wanted to buy a specific pair of shoes that Nordstrom carried. Upon entering, the staff immediately wrote us off. We were not approached to see if we needed help, even as we stood there with the shoe in our hands, waiting as the sales person chatted with another one at the desk. After we asked for help, he handed us the shoe and went back to chatting. Typically they lace it up for you and help you try it on, and make sure the size fits, which it didnt. So again, we had to track down the guy to get another size. He switched the shoe and left us alone again. Although we were dressed goofy, we were not acting immaturely, at least not enough to elicit such a negative response from the sales person. We were paying customers but we were definitely not treated like such.
It's a shame they have to be so snooty. But they still carry great clothes. And, being located in the mall, if you don't find what you need there, chances are it'll be right around the corner at another store.

When you ask where a product is, they will retreive it for you. They go out of there way to make sure you find what you are looking for. Great products.
