I bought my dress here in November 2008, a full year before my wedding. Part of why I bought it so early was because there was a floor model that was fantastic, which meant it was 50% off. Being a floor model that had been tried on lots, there was some minor damage (missing beads, a small tear in the lace). The saleswoman I was working with told me that these things would be at no charge and that they would clean the dress at no charge.

I was so pleased with my dress buying experience that I recommended Alfred Angelo to a girlfriend of mine. She also bought a floor model 50% off, but then encountered challenges when it came time for her fitting--an extremely long wait, despite having an appointment, and not having the store's commitment to making fixes honored. As a result of this, she did not have her alterations done at Alfred Angelo.

Based on her experience, when I scheduled my appointment almost a month ago, I confirmed that these fixes would be made at no charge, as well as the cleaning. I spoke to Michelle, who put me on hold and came back on the line to say that she had checked with the seamstress and/or manager (I'm not sure who) and they would do this at no charge.

Fast forward to today, my first fitting. The seamstress tells me that they don't do these things free of charge, at which point I ask to speak to a manager. After 10-15 minutes, Tiffany can FINALLY be bothered to come speak to me. Her first question is who I worked with and if I had the receipt. I had not brought the receipt with me and did not remember the sales lady I worked with almost a year ago. When I asked if she could look me up in the system, she obliges. After finally finding me, she returns to say that there was a note in the system about making the fixes, so they will do those. I asked about the cleaning and Tiffany says that she can't do that because there was no note in the system. When I asked about them honoring their commitment to me, she basically said that I should have gotten this in writing and that the woman who sold me the dress is no longer with them.

Should I have gotten this in writing? Absolutely. However, as I stated to Tiffany, I certainly feel that Alfred Angelo has screwed me for not getting this in writing when I wasn't really thinking about that the day I bought my dress and was, naturally, very excited and in the moment.

I let Tiffany know that I was extremely disappointed and angry and that because of this, like my girlfriend, I would not be having my alterations done there. I cannot in good conscience give more money to a corporation with this business model, particularly knowing that this is a systemic problem and not a one time incident. I will be warning all of my friends and family NOT to shop at Alfred Angelo.

Ok, let me start by saying that I have been to many MANY bridal shops and this one had one of THE WORST representations of customer service - EVER. When we arrived (Bride, Maid of Honor and myself - Bridesmaid) we were not greeted, we were not asked if they could assist in finding dresses and when we needed someone they were nowhere to be found (even though they had 4 or 5 people working and maybe one other customer in the shop). Nobody was around to assist with finding or putting dresses on (i.e. clipping them so they didn't fall off). When we ordered, they didn't mention that they had a $20 off offer going on (luckily I knew and mentioned it). They took our money and shooed us out the door promptly. When the dresses arrived, I received an email because they said my phone number was incorrect and I had 14 days to pick up my dress. First of all, the number I GAVE them was correct - they misread or mistyped it (which isn't surprising seeing as their intelligence level is that of a third grader - and that is all of them combined). They misspelled my name and had the wrong info. I picked up my dress and then they tell me that I owed .75 on the dress for additional tax. Whatever. Then they wanted me to sign that I took the dress before they would allow me to try it on to see if it was incorrect or damaged in any way. THEN it was COMPLETELY WRINKLED and they wouldn't press/steam it unless I had it altered there for a minimum of $65 (for a hem mind you - only a hem). AND you can only alter it on Sunday's with an appointment and it takes a minimum of 4 weeks (FOR A HEM!). Buy your dress elsewhere girls!

I'm the maid of honor in my friends wedding who decided to buy her wedding dress at Alfred Angelo in BH. The service we received when we first went to the store was satisfactory but that all went out the window the second they received her money. They conned her into paying $400 for alterations with some nonsense about how the dress is guaranteed. That was the biggest mistake ever! The seamstress, Jasmine, had her dress for 5 months and the bride had nothing but problems every fitting she went to. The first fitting they ignored her for 1.5 hours even though she had an appointment, the second fitting the sales associates at the store gave us all the wrong information and wanted to change her appointment, even though she had scheduled it 4 months in advance, because the seamstress was swamped with new clients. I was at that fitting with her and the only thing that the seamstress needed to do was put some bra cups in, reattach the lace that she had removed to take the dress in and mix the hem. Which for anyone that sews, knows that's not a very long list of tasks to achieve. Well the seamstress scheduled the bride to pick up her dress 6 weeks later. The day before the bride was to pick up the dress the seamstress called her and informed her that she had a personal conflict and wouldn't be in the store on the day of her scheduled pick up and wanted to reschedule for saturday. The bride needed to ship the dress to the east coast, which is where her wedding is, no later then that saturday so she said she needed it sooner. The seamstress said she would drop it off the next day. Now, as a side note the bride called the store and the seamstress, Jasmine, was actually in the store that day she was just apparently very busy. So the bride goes and picks up the dress on thursday and requests to have a fitting room to try it on. The sales associate, Valerie, REFUSED! She said it smelled like it had been steamed and to not take it out of the bag until her wedding day!!!! Well of course since that's the MOST RIDICULOUS thing anyone's heard the bride brought the dress home and tried it on. First the seamstress sewed the lining at the top of the dress to the outside so it was entirely bunched up until a thread broke and then the seamstress never hemmed the underskirt and the hemming she did to the outer layer was completely crooked. The dress has a lace overlay and on one half the lace fell below the satin and the other half it was above. Also now the bodice is all scrunching up where it laid flat before and she bunched up the fabric where she sewed in the bra cup. At this point the bride no longer trusted the store and took her dress to Milt and Eddie's in Burbank where they had her dress back to her within 24 hours and it was perfect! Now the bride is trying to get some refund because the store did not give her the service she was promised and Tiffany, the store manager, and Rebecca, the district manager are refusing! Rebecca claims that the bride didn't give them the opportunity to fix the problem. The seamstress had the dress for 5 months she had plenty of time to finish everything! I have never seen a customer be treated so poorly by a store in my entire life. Do yourself a huge favor and save yourself thousand of tears that you are guaranteed to shed from buying your dress from this wretched store that dares to call itself a bridal boutique. Also research them on the better business bureau website, there's not a single Alfred Angelo store in all of southern california that has received higher then a D. Goes to show what kind of company they really are.

If you value your happiness, do not shop at Alfred Angelo Beverly Hills. Service is terrible and the sales people are rude(especially after they have your money!). When I picked up my wedding dress after expensive alterations, it was supposed to have been dry cleaned but instead was dirty as if someone had worn it. They were uncooperative in working out the situation too. A terrible and sad experience that I hope no bride or bridesmaid ever has to experience so please don't let the Beverly Hills address fool you. Their service is diabolical and don't bother calling their corporate office or talking to the manager-if you complain about anything then they just treat you like a bridezilla because sadly none of them give a damn.

I bought a bridesmaid dress here for my girlfriend's wedding. We liked the prices and the style at this place, so we decided on picking the dress out here. The shop is ok, very reminicent of David's Bridal. Convenient location. I found the customer service to be very annoying. My dress had come in and no one called me to pick it up. I only knew because another bridesmaid had received a phone call. Ordering the dress proved to be a task and a half, since no one would come up front to measure me or ring me up. I had to actually end up calling the store to get an associate to come to the front!

PROS: cute affordable dresses
CONS: terrible customer service

I was guided to this store by two of my friends' referrals. This was the first shop I went to in my bridal gown search, and the one that I came back to in the end. They have gorgeous styles at incredibly reasonable prices. Ask for Aurora; she's worked there for ten years and is just a sweetheart. The shop made me feel comfortable and didn't even mind me taking pictures.
