We have nothing but the highest praise for Dr. Jassar, Sherri, Noele, Heather and all of the other angels at Vaca Valley Vet Hospital whose names I have forgotten. We have taken all of our animals there, and have been so pleased with their professionalism, knowledge, creativity, "can do" attitudes, care, communication and spirit of collaboration between all of them, and with us. More than all of that, though, we have been so deeply touched with the love and kindness these humans have for our fellow living beings, our pets. Those of us who know the value of animals in our lives get it, and wouldn't want anyone who doesn't feel the same way taking care of them. And care for pets they do.... We have had two dogs "fixed" by Dr. Jassar (a giant German Shepherd and a small little Chihuahua) and our treasured hairless Sphynx cat fixed as well. When our kitten seemed unwell the day after surgery, during our "check-up" call from Sherri,we were advised to bring him back in. Doctor knew exactly what he needed (a benadryl shot from a funky reaction to some vaccines), and the cat jumped right back into shape the day afterwards. Just today we took in our hairless rat for a mammary tumor removal, he got the job done beautifully, even making an Elizabethan collar "cone" for her from scratch! And when one of our senior rats seemed to be on her last leg, we took her in to be put down. That's how much we trust Dr. Jasser and his team. We have usually done this ourselves just because we couldn't stand the thought of our "babies" spending their last moments with anyone less caring. (Good news though.... he prescribed some antibiotics for a respiratory infection, and we're hoping for a few good days/weeks/months (?) with her). He talked over all options with us, and ultimately left the decision to us. Procedure prices are reasonable, and the fees are all broken down and thoroughly explained. When you see what a great service this vet's practice offers, you will know how lucky we are to have them in our community.

Dr. Jassar is a fine veterinarian.
Who could believe that a hamster with an upper respiratory infection could be saved!? I swore that I wouldn't ever take a hamster to the vet, but my 11-year-old loves the little critter and, quite frankly, so do I. Minor surgery, stitches, and medication (all incredibly affordable) was what it took to bring Hammy back to full health.
We are a lucky community to have Dr. Jassar, and staff, here. Their care and compassion is unmatched anywhere I've been. I recommend their business to all my pet-owning friends.
THANK YOU, DR. JASSAR, FOR ALL YOU DO!

After taking all of my animals to a wonderful vet for 30+ years (and having him eventually retire), I moved to Vacaville and have been taking my animals to Dr. Jassar and Vaca Valley Vet. I didn't believe that there was a vet office like what I came from. I was wrong....Vaca Valley is the best and Dr. Jassar and his crew are wonderful. They really care about the animals and their owners. They even call you to see how the animals are doing after they are at their office. I would highly recommend them to anyone...

I would recommend Vaca Valley Veterinary Hospital to anyone who values the life of their pet. The building is older and small but when you think about it, does your pet really care? The prices are good at Vaca Valley but more importantly Dr. Jassar knows what he's doing. Every single employee at Vaca Valley had a genuine concern for the well being of our dog. Here's my very recent story: Back in August I brought our 18 month old dog to Oak Animal Hospital because she wouldn't stop throwing up. After being shuffled between two different vets they diagnosed her with pancreatitis. The prices were ridiculous but our dog recovered nicely so it was tuff for me to complain too much. A couple of weeks ago the symptoms returned. I took her back to Oak. A different vet saw her this time and diagnosed her with a relapse of pancreatitis. A few days later she was not getting better so we took her back in to Oak and saw yet another (yes that's four) vet. She read the chart of the previous three vets diagnosis and just continued the treatment for pancreatitis. After this point I was fed up with not seeing the same vet twice, not getting the level of care I felt our puppy deserved, and paying through the nose for treatment that wasn't working. So I took her to Vaca Valley. Dr. Jassar personally observed her for two days and decided that the pancreatitis had to be a secondary problem and that there was most likely a more serious cause to her throwing up. He decided to do surgery and I'm glad he did. He found two obstructions in her stomach and small intestine. He removed them and she's on the road to a full recovery. I went to Vaca Valley just in the nick of time. If I had stayed at Oak I'm confident our dog would not be alive right now. If you are choosing a veterinary hospital and want an affordable price, a genuinely caring and compassionate staff, and a well qualified veterinarian, then choose Vaca Valley Veterinary Hospital. Your pet will thank you.

I would recommend Vaca Valley Veterinary Hospital to anyone who values the life of their pet. The office is small, the decor is not fancy, the building is older, but think about it, does your pet really care. The cost of big offices, extravagent decor, and new buildings get passed on to the customer (i.e. see Oak Animal Hospital reviews). The prices are good at Vaca Valley but more importantly Dr. Jassar knows what he's doing. Every single employee at Vaca Valley had a genuine concern for the well being of our dog. Here's my very recent story:
Back in August I brought our 18 month old dog to Oak Animal Hospital because she wouldn't stop vomiting. They performed some tests and the vet said she was 95% sure it was NOT pancreatitis. The next day the blood work came back confirming it was indeed pancreatitis. A different vet at Oak called to give us the treatment plan. The prices were ridiculous but our dog recovered nicely so it was tuff for me to complain too much. A couple of weeks ago the symptoms returned. I took her back to Oak. A different vet saw her this time and diagnosed her with a relapse of pancreatitis. This place did a fine job with my pets. Seemed to really care about everything that was going on with the animals, and kept me in touch with what was going on. The vertinarian that I had was a very intelligent person who helped me understand what had been going on with my two animals that I brought in, which helped with the situation a lot. A good little establishment for your animals.
