John Macarthur is no-nonsense Christian pastor who is well versed in the inerrant Word of God. John is easy to understand and will breakdown each biblical verse according to historical and theological understanding. He rightly preaches

Gods Word is read here. The stories that most Protestant pastors preach are minimal, as there isn't time for "feel good" sermons. The Bible is read....this fact causes anger and division amongst some of the audience. Why? Because that's what the Word will do. It will illuminate one's sin and cause non-believers (who say they are Christians) to become angered because it forces them to acknowledge right and wrong, wich in turn requires their life to be turned upside down in the their ideological system. Gods Word is for His people. The world does not comprehend and therefor mocks it. This church teaches Gods Word, not feel good political correctness

I am a Christian. What I write below may be hard for some people to believe but I promise with God and you as my witnesses, that everything I write here is true. It is based on what I observed while spending a decade attending this church.

This church is an ultraconservative sect of Christianity. I will not call it ??grace? church because it is so legalistic they threw God??s grace out the window a long time ago. This church gives Christ a bad name. If you??re wondering what 28% of the public still think George W. B*sh did a good job, or which portion of the population wants Sarah Palin to run for President, you will find those people here.

Is it a crime to be an ultraconservative? No. However, was our democracy designed to let the minority rule the majority? No it wasn??t. But this church, along with all the other ultraconservative churches in the country, has no doubt sought to do that to the nation year after year after year.

The pastor here teaches that women should be submissive to their husbands at all times. He justifies that by saying it??s in the Bible. The apostle Paul did write that in the Bible but Paul also wrote that women are supposed to wear head coverings at all times in the church. So why don??t any of these ultraconservative pastors preach that message to the women? If the pastor believes and teaches that the Bible is the literal word of God, then why aren??t the women at these churches told they have to cover their heads before they enter? Why is one issue considered to be merely an archaic matter of Paul??s time but other instructions expressed by Paul are not?

They don??t explain that.

If you join this church and your marriage falls apart be prepared to have the pastors there tell you the only Biblical reason you can get a divorce is in a case of adultery. If your spouse is physically abusive and will not go get therapy, they will tell you that is not a Biblical reason to get a divorce and God will punish you if you do.

If your husband turns out to be a criminal and you tell them you want to divorce him they will tell you that is not a Biblical reason for a divorce. (I was attending this church when a woman actually went through this very circumstance. It was made public because the pastor announced to the entire congregation that her husband had been arrested for grabbing young girls and touching them in a violating way so we could pray for the child abuser and his family. Yes, this really happened. They counseled the woman to stay married to the man because it was not Biblical for her to get a divorce.)

If you believe in taking the Bible literally, that the earth was made in 7, 24-hour days, that the world is only about 8,000 years old, that the dinosaurs and Noah existed on the earth at the same time and that the dinosaurs did not survive because Noah didn??t put them on the Ark, then this is the church for you!

If you want to listen to an enormous amount of lip service given to the ideas of love, charity and human kindness while at the same time watching this church ignore the pain and suffering of thousands of people in the community, nation and world because they all think Jesus is going to return any minute now, then this is the church for you.

They ignore the pain of the community and the nation because the pastors teach them to stare at their watches, always expecting Jesus to show up any second now and rapture all true believers from the hassle of taking care of others.

If you want to learn how to be that kind of person, if you want to hang out with those kinds of people, then this myopic church is the place for you.

Pros: Good parking

Cons: They seek disciples for themselves rather than for Christ
