Awsome massage for a batter than awsome price
by Mary S.
Ok, so in the town where everything is OVER PRICEDand undervalued, this is under priced and over valued! The best massage I have ever had and for just 32.00! I have spent 150 dollars on a massage that wasnt as good as these students(cuz it is a school). They say that it is where the best become the best. and they are right! They are opened 7 days a week and you can call and get an appointment the same day. Really it is the best! Give em a try!

They have been around since 1988. This massage school has a great clinical studies program of which I take full advantage. The no-frills massages are only $28.00 and you don't have to tip...ahhh...refreshing. The students need to work on real peopleto gain hours and the few students from whom I have received massages were all very good. The facilities are modest, but the massage you receive for the price you pay outweights the spa atmosphere. It takes a week or two to get an appointment, so callahead of time and be prepared to wait a few weeks to get in.

If you're looking for a massage bargain, this is the place--$28 for a hour. Massages are provided by supervised massage artists who are in training. My dad went and thought it was great.

Seriously great + affordable massage
by wjcoakley
Wow, surprised at what a great massage I got?especially for only $35?? I felt really bad not being able to tip, but I will definitely be going back. I usually go to a guy down at the Massage Place in Santa Monica but this is really a deal that I can?t pass up. The young man that worked on my back was very interested in what I needed work on, he identified immediately where the knots were and he was not afraid to really get the job done. I always love finding these great discoveries in LA that nobody else seems to know about.
Pros: quality, deep tissue, price, NOT ALLOWED TO TIP
Cons: none that i could tell

If you want to be the best, learn here!
by passinthru
I'm actually giving a review of the school from a student perspective. As a recent graduate it's nice to see all the great feedback regarding the clinic program -- you're all right: it truly is the best deal in town with the cream-of-the-crop in training! (if I do say so myself)
Now, as to the school: The teachers -- who absolutely MAKE the school -- are quite simply the best. I have extremely high expectations when it comes to teachers who are not only giving lectures, but also training individuals -- and the staff at CHAC are phenomenal. They are working professionals, rather than career teachers and they each have something unique to offer. I have never worked with a more diverse, intelligent and talented group. They are able to communicate their skill to you, the student, with skill and empathy ? each in their own particular way.
The office staff is everything I could have hoped for and more - efficient and quietly in the background, for the most part, but always there when you need them. The financial aid was painless and all my many questions were answered and all my apprehensions (my first student loans, after all!) were dealt with sympathetically.
The program is 720 hours, which is more than enough for most LA. area cities requirements (and hopefully also the future state license requirement) and the school has a wonderful professional reputation. They also encourage all varieties of vocations post-graduation: clinical and health-care fields, as well as private practice and spa environments. They encourage National Certification and care about what the student KNOWS, rather than simply what the student can perform. The clinic experience is one of the best ways to quickly learn what communication and customer service are all about, in addition to refining technique and gaining confidence. And the open practice time is a wonderful forum to talk with other students at varying levels of experience and gain insight into your own practice.
Also, the students are from a variety of backgrounds and are a variety of ages. I felt right at home, though in an older age bracket. I appreciated the diversity and genuine caring attitudes I found in many of the students of all ages. We all are working together!
So, long story long, if you are looking for a massage school that is nationally accredited and will prepare you (and then some) for a great career in Massage therapy, this is the place to go!
Pros: Fabulous Teachers
Cons: Location isn't posh, but is that a con?

ONE OF THE BEST PRICED MASSAGES IN TOWN-
by SamoJoe
Don't be put off by the location of this wonderful place!
First, there is plenty of FREE parking in the underground garage - So even if your drive to CHAC was a bit of a road rage you have comfort in knowing, that a spot will be available. It's located on the 2nd floor and the entrance is just to the left of the stairs.
Once, you walk in your kindly greeted and as you have arrived for your set appointment, the WAIT is NO LONGER than 5 min.
As you are attending a college center there are no door enclosed massage rooms, it is nicely curtained sections with dim lighting and a very yoga-esque audio ambiance.
The massage therapist at CHAC have excellent hands and an unbelievable feel for the body. They start with a short conversation of what you are trying to achieve in the session. This allows them to pinpoint the areas you would like worked on, along with the proper amount of applied pressure. They are very competent in responding to the needs of the client.
You will leave CHAC, with a a loosely relaxed and floating on clouds feeling.
Recommended for those who are not looking to pay an arm and a leg and still feel like they need another session.
ONE OF THE BEST PRICED MASSAGES IN TOWN-

This was a great treat for a great price! I can't afford to get a massage regularly but with the discounted rates at this school for professionals I was able to get a full hour for just 25 bucks my first time and 35 thereafter! Give it a shot. You'll be glad you did!
Pros: Best Price
Cons: Practitioners still developing skills

Relaxing Massage for a great Price!
by Rob90069
The short version: I went in to their student clinic for a massage. This is the best value in town. For $35 with NO TIPPING ALLOWED, I can get a spa quality massage. For me this was my first time and it was amazing. Given this is a school and they do not spend big bucks on the atmosphere, it was still clean and relaxing. Parking was free.
The long version: My friend told me about this so I jumped online to check out the info and the place to see what I would get, I called and got some good information on the phone from the school directly. These are students that are at the end of their schooling. They are learning to work with the public. With that said I had a great experience. This is not a spa, there is no hot tub or steam room, but the place is clean and the massage rooms are inviting. The price cannot be beat, I paid $35 with no tip. They do not allow tips! The best part, parking was free. Free parking in LA is always a bonus.
Pros: Price, No tipping, free parking, Awesome Massage
Cons: No hot tub, no sauna, this is not a spa.

Always GOOD!!!
by cb4hair
I love my 2 hour massage, oh yes, most people get a 1 hour massage. I've never had a bad massage. The students really care about their work. I've been going there for about 7 years and my body always feels wonderful and relaxed when I leave. The price is amazingly affordable too. Do yourself a favor and go experience it just once and you'll keep going back.
Pros: open everyday, price, great massage
