Dear Dr. Jimerson and staff,
We cannot thank you enough for your loving, consistant, and compassionate care of Gracie. Not only did she love coming in for a "spa" day, she was comfortable and happy to be at Gateway. In particular, Valerie was always wonderful. Although we miss Gracie very much, we know we are very fortunate to have her as a part of our family, thank you, from the bottom of our hearts, for loving her (almost) as much as we did. Our sincere thanks for your care.
I have been coming to Gateway since 1996 or earlier and have always found the staff completely helpful and courteous. The girsl up front are extremely proficientin any need I may have for any of my dogs. Dr. J is my vet, he is the main reason I come here and always bring each new pet and also recommend friend to come. He also takes care of my sons dogs as well. I consider the Gateway Dr 's and staff like family. They always take care of my kids.
My son and I brought our beloved cat, Joey, of 18 years and 5 months into your hospital on Thursday, July 15th, we knew he was very ill. We want you to know how grateful we are for your professionalism and kindness to us on that sad day. We appreciate the humane manner in which you handled what was so hard for us to face. Thank you Julia and Gus R.
I've taken my dogs to be boarded at Gateway as well as had major surgery there for one of my dogs. Gateway is the only place where I can board my dogs and when they come home, they are "normal". They aren't all freaked out and they don't follow me around the house for days afterward. Also, Dr. V. saved my older dog's life. He's 13 and last March, they operated to remove a tumor on his spleen (they removed the entire thing...tumor as well as spleen). Well, it's now seven months later and he's like a new little man! They definitely saved his life. They've also helped him with ear infections and they helped my younger dog get over some kind of flu bug. All in all, I really appreciate Gateway for helping my pups at a reasonable price. Yes, they are always PACKED and you have to wait awhile, but I'd prefer that over a vet who was empty and had no patients. I do believe that they make mistakes but if you ask before they do any procedures, you can make yourself more knowledgeable.
I have taken pet cats, dogs and birds to this hospital for more than 20 years. I have also take feral cats for spay/neuter and release back into the community. At all times my animals were given excellent treatment. I have found the staff to be very professional.
Dr. Jimmerson treats most of my animals and I find him very knowledgeable and very compassionate. He and I have a similar philosophy about the responsibility pet owners have toward their pets.
He has pulled several of my animals through serious illnesses and injuries. When my animals are old and ill, Dr. J is always very upfront with me about their chances for any quality of life. If an animal has to be euthanized, I always stay in the room with my pet to ease him through death.
I recommend Gateway to all my friends. There are several doctors to choose from. Take the time to find the right one for you and your pet.
The staff at Gateway is kind and caring. The costs are reasonable and the doctors are compasionate and care about their patients and their owners. When my cat was diagnosed with renal failure Dr. Jimmerson did everything possible to keep him going without sacrificing his quality of life. When it was time to face the end he stood with us and helped us through a very sad experience. I wouldn't trust my cats to anyone else. I always go with them to the examining room and have been in the various treatment rooms many times.
PROS: Staff, cost
CONS: Parking
This place may be tiny on the outside but on the inside its very nice and clean and they do an excellent job.. The prices here are a bit lower than average and all the vets and employees here were very friendly and even admiring my dog, making us feel special and at home. They're very smart about animals and they give GREAT advice about how to take care of my doggy..
Many years ago I was recommended to this animal hospital for a rescue dog I had adopted. He needed to be neutered and needed eye surgery for a genetic condition. They offered reduced prices for rescue dogs, so I drove out to glendale from Venice for that reason.
Their prices are very low and they do take exotic pets. If these are your priorities I'd recommend them. However, they take the animals in the back, so you can't see what is going on, or support your pet if that is what you wish to do.
One time I heard the vet screaming at my dog in the backroom, but he denied it when I asked him about it. My dog at that time was a chow, but he was very reserved, loving and was not a biter or a problem at all.
That was the last time I went there.
PROS: Help exotic animals, reasonably priced, okay for routine care
CONS: I'd look elsewhere for any serious problems
This is a solid low-cost veterinary clinic. We take all of our rescues here for spay / neuter procedures (they accept vouchers) and vaccinations. You do not receive the individual attention that you get at some other vets, and you generally cannot accompany your pet to be examined. It's a great economical choice for basic vet services, but I would not recommend it for complex health issues that might require more individual attention or specialists.
I just want to thank you once again for saving our cat when he was sick and needed surgery. He is doing fine now and eating so much. He is back to normal thinking he is the boss of the house. Thank You
Gateway Animal Hospital is a finely run machine!
