I love the feel of the space. But the employees are so snarly so often, it seems to be part of the a'roma culture. I think having a little chip on one's shoulder must be listed as desirable quality in their help wanted ads . . . . Coffee varies from fabulous to bitter. Have to admit they are farily consistently good with the foam though!
The line can get long for ordering & it isn't set up efficiently. There may be 2-3 employees standing around, with one person making coffee & one taking orders, communicating the order, ringing up the order & collecting payment for the order - while others employees are just hanging out.

I love this place and could hang out there all night. The coffee and snacks are great and the place has strong community feel to it....nice people! They feature great music on Friday nights. I heard a great blues trio there one night and loved it.

I stoped by this place before work to today and had the worst experience! it ruined the rest of my day!before heading to the counter I went to use the restroom-my mistake! the owner ran up to me and started shouting at me asking me what was I doing in aromas and that she had never seen me before! it was the most random, crazy, weird, rude, and humiliating experience that I have ever had!I was so shocked and humiliated,I tried to walk away and she jumped in front of me shouting and making a bigger scene she then followed me out to my car verbally abusing me! when I got in my car I wondered if she had mistaken me for someone else? but either way i was so embarressed by her unprofessional and hostile behavior that i would never consider going back to that horrible place again!I called aromas later today to find out what her name is and why this happened!an employee told me her name is KAY and said she does this to random customers all the time!the employee told me they lose alot of business over her schizophrenic behavior! To anyone thinking about going into aromas, save yourself the stress-DONT! I ended up going to CAFE AZUL on 4th st. this place was great!very warm and welcoming.the service was exceptional and their outside patio was beautiful!

under a facade of a cool place Aromas Roasters hides a xenophobic and greedy "owners". I had 2 interactions with a lady that identified herself as the owner who asked me in a rude way to purchase a drink every hour otherwise she would have to ask me to leave. Please know that I had been in the coffee shop for 1 hour and a half and getting ready to have some lunch there. Do not get fooled by the appearance of the coffee shop and as this lady firmly told me "there are 900 other coffee shops in Santa Rosa and you can go to either of them". The only reason this lady targeted me is my physical appearance as I am darker than 99% of her clientele. When this incident happened there was another costumer who was white and had been there before I arrived, with one drink and the "owner' did not address her, there was also another white guy who arrived few minutes after me and the "owner" did not address him neither.this coffee shop does not care about the community or building a sense of community it is only about money and no different than any corporation. Actually in Starbucks or Pete's Coffee you receive a much better service and have better coffee. It was me this time but next time who knows... may be you. DO NOT SUPPORT THIS KIND OF BEHAVIOR AND SHOW AROMA'S OWNERS THAT YOU CARE ABOUT THE COMMUNITY!

Sky high open barn feel - while pulling off cozy at the same time. Ceiling fans make it comfortably breezy evn on hot days. Two complimentary computers - a mac & a pc with internet access are on one counter - though everyone seems to be on their own portable. A card mounted at the front counter details how much caffeine is in a cup of brewed coffee, a shot of espresso (significantly less than in a brewed cup) and a cup of decaf. In addition to coffee & pastries - all the usual suspects (average fare, with no standouts), there's pizza by the slice and an ice cream shop just through one door off to the left. Personally, I found the espresso on the overly bitter side, but I'll go back just for the atmosphere. It's kewl.

This is a great funky, original coffee house. It is always busy, but still effective for studying. Also, a great place to catch up with friends (if you can find a seat/table).

Aroma Roasters and Cafe is located in railroad square and occupies a converted train depot of yesteryear. It's a very comfortable large room that has a homey feel to it. There's live entertainment on the weekends, but you have to get there early if you want to sit for the show. Lots of yummy baked goods and the coffee is always superb. Friendly staff, too.

They have wonderful fresh roasted coffee and lovely lunch and breakfast options. A good place to study, read a book or simply sit and people watch in Railroad Square.

Great coffee house. Very popular on the weekend so you might have to wait a bit but they brew great coffee. You can buy your beans here too - great souvenir if you are visiting!
