Bodega isn't too shabby. I came here with a friend for happy hour. Their happy hour runs from 4-7pm and all night on Mondays.

The HH wine is $5 a glass, $15 carafes, and $21 a bottle. You get to choose from a list that offers about 12 white and 12 red wines. The regular wine prices are $8 a glass, $21 a carafe & $32 a bottle. We tried about 5 different wines, some better than others. If you are a wine snob, this might not be the place for you. I am a bit of a wine snob, but happy hour prices squash any snobbery. : )

For HH food, we went with the Pepperoni and Cheese plate ($4) and the Margherita Pizza ($7). The pizza was made of a thick bread dough and was quite good. The pepperoni was good, but I would have preferred a different cheese. It was a long block of cheddar, but is a great deal at only $4.

The waitress was the only down side of the evening. She literally walked by our table about 5 times with our glasses empty and she didn't ask if we wanted anything else. We had to flag her down. Bad service on her part, but I would still return.

As for the place itself, I liked the layout of it. Half the place had tall community tables and the other half had more of a lounge feel.

Good to know: This place is walking distance from the Metro Gold Line! woohoo!!

I went on a Wednesday night, so the Wine was discounted to almost half price per bottle. The music was good, but later on they started playing hardcore rap, so the gangster-type dudes started dancing and the chicks bailed.

This place is a singles spot / pick-up joint, so go with a good wing man/woman.

Also, it has all kinds of seating to fit the mood.

This place is highly overrated. Anyone who knows anything about wine would not like Bodega. VERY disappointing.

Pros: Nothing

If you like decent wine and good food then skip this place. It is overpriced and the wine selection is less than impressive. Coke mixed with wine?? Enough said.

Bodega is your "in-between"... not really your typical bar scene, but not a true wine bar in it's traditional sense. I was drawn more to the atmosphere than to the wine. The layout/interior design is very modern and cozy, and sets the tone for a great lounge, but the wine list may leave some enthusiasts a bit disappointed.

I usually don't go out during the week because I have to wake up for work at dawn, but this place is great on sunday and monday nights. There aren't many places that are happening on those nights, but Bodega is an exception. The music is great, and so is the wine selection as well as specialty soju cocktails. Keep in mind, this is a beer and wine establishment. Head downstairs to the Yard House if you're looking for liquor.

I am not sure why they call this a 'wine bar' since the wine is overpriced and unbearable to drink. The wine selection is minimal at best. The food on the menu is a joke.

i had heard and read great things about Bodega, so i was highly disappointed when i finally went with a group of friends. while i do like the concept, in reality the wine was mediocre, the service average and the crowd was a swarming and smarmy singles scene (albeit young and attractive). if you like wine and actually want to hold a conversation with the person you came with rather than ten others trying to pick you up, then bodega is not for you.

Bodega is one of my favorite places to go in Pasadena. The wine selections are great and represent a wide array of regions and flavors. The food is very good as well. They make a brie grilled cheese, and a tuna panini. The pizzas are really good too, thin crust and plenty of cheese and whatever else you order.

Check it out!!

Don't be in a hurry when you head to Bodega in Pasadena. I dig this spot for their various happy hours (4-7 PM specials include cheap wine and cheap appetizers) with some friends, but expect it to be busy. It's pretty small, so you'll probably be surprised when your waitress seems to disappear for about an hour before she comes back to your table. Ive had to get up to go to the bar before happy hour ends several times (and when I do the waitress comes back and looks at me with a sort of vacant "Where'd you get THAT glass of wine?" look in her eyes). But the wine list is fab, if small (I recommend the semillion on a warm summer night). Food is always good enough for a light snack to pair with your wine, and the atmosphere is hip and inviting...which is why it's so hard to find a seat on the small patio! Ultimately, when you finally are able to steal enough chairs from another table for all your friends to sit down, after you've eaten a margherita pizza and an order of bruschetta, and after your second bottle of wine, you'll be relaxed enough to forgive your poor, lost waitress.

I was introduced to this place on a date once and it was really cool! Thankfully they have food too. I ordered the pita with hummus and it was pretty good. Their wine selection is great and made for interesting table conversation. I'd definitely come back!

I can't say enough about the atmosphere and service. The hot, hot, hot bartenders are more than happy to take good care of you and your needs. The loungy inside and refreshing patio make for a great place to relax after work or snuggle with a date on weekends. Though I am not a wine snob I do find the wine selection sophomoric. The wine list is limited and not at all special for a place that touts itself as a wine bar. I enjoy Bodega for a relaxing evening but for a truly special evening I go elsewhere.

Went here for a birthday with my girlfriends. It was so nice we just sat outside on the patio and chatted and no one bugged us like a normal bar. It is very classy. The bottles are reasonable if you are there with a group around $30 but can go up to pricier. They have a great selection of red and white wine. It gets pretty crowded on the weekends, but during the week it was fine.

Though this is not the best wine bar in the area, it does provide an affordable treat during happy hour (4-7) for wine and appetizers. I am particularly fond of the margherita pizza ($6), or the pita and olive tapanade spread, or the hummus and bread. Very yummy.

Unfortunately, the food is better than the wine offered. The selection doesn't change. Pity. Some of the better offerings are the Syrahs and Cabs on hand. Try the McManus or the Scott. Anyway, it is a good place to kill an hour as you wait for your movie at the nearby AMC Theatre to come up. Oh, and if you're looking for the best wine bar, go to Colorado Wine Co. in Eagle Rock.

PROS: good appetizers, affordable happy hour
CONS: poor wine selection that doesn't change

How do I love Bodega? Let me count the ways...Sleek indoor and comfy outdoor dining. The White Tiger (try the soju in anything...yummy). Wine in those clever little French-like glasses. Mouth-watering hummus. Warm, crisp tuna panini sliders. Heat lamps in the winter (indoors and out!). Incredibly reasonable prices. The best happy hour, ever, due to sweet prices and excellent hours (4-7). And the icing on the cake/feather in Bodega's cap/chef d'oeuvre? Friendly staff who make you feel it's A-OK to lollygag.

PROS: Great happy hour, friendly peeps, delicious food.
CONS: Dark bathrooms (impossible to do a teeth-check in these gloomy caves!)

this place is not for everyone...and that i what i love about it. i like that i can get a glass of wine for just 8 bucks. and i like that the wine list is short. they find a few good wines, and i don't have to spend 20 minutes sorting through a list. i like that they serve it european style, not in a traditional wine glass. i definitely like the music. especially the dj on mondays. the staff is great. i like the modern design of the place, and i like that it's a casual atmosphere. when i want something more fancy, i go somewhere else. this place is my hangout lounge where i can just chill, for as long as i want. i'm comfortable there. and if i don't want to battle a crowd, i don't go on weekends. but sometimes i do anyway.

The wine selection can vary depending on when you go in and what they have on the menu that day, but I must say that there cheese platter is awesome. Nothing like sitting with a lass of white wine in the summer time and a great cheese platter in front of you and your friends! Plus you can sit outside and in the evenings is very relaxing.

I went there with a large group of friends while we waited for PF Chang's. Although the atmosphere was relaxed and laidback, it was created by the customers rather than the staff. The staff was a bit stiff and unaccomodating...perhaps because we were a rather large group. The wine list I was presented with seemed short (a laminated half-sheet) and the menu is even shorter. The food is minimal and the wine that I did try was quite good despite it being a random choice. Their wine glass really irked me though. I like enjoying wine from a wine glass...perhaps it's a comfort of mine. If it doesn't bother you, then Bodega is definitely a nice place to just relax because of its minimalistic decor and convenience but isolated location.

We went to the Bodega Wine Bar for the 1st time this week. It is an amazingly relaxing and peaceful place. The wine list is impressive and the cocktail list includes the standards, plus some fun looking drinks made with a Vodka alternative. There is indoor/bar seating, an outdoor patio (with couches) and a room that can be sectioned off to the right of the bar. I highly recommend the Bodega Wine Bar.

When we arrived the atmosphere was unpretenious and nicely decorated. But it was crowded and ended up waiting about 30 minutes until we went to the bar ourselves. The menu is limited and generic. The moscato I tried was delicious but there were only two wines on the desert list. Overall, has great potential but hasn't lived up to it yet.

Bodega is not a destination unto iteself, the food is minimal and the space is loud and dark. It is a good place to have a glass of wine while you are waiting for dinner or a movie or if the shopping just gets too overwhelming. The patio closes early and once it does it can get a bit stuffy. Not a great place for a group, but good for 2 - 4 people to catch up.

Parking is a little difficult in the massive parking structure, but once you get there and start undwinding, it's all good. I would reccommend going on a weeknight or for happy hour (good happy hour deals). I went on a Friday night once and it was too loud and crowded. Get a flight of red or white wines and a cheese plate or hummus...yummy!

One of my favorite bars in Pasadena. A great place to relax with a glass of wine. This is a wine bar and the selection is huge. You can try wines from around the world and the food is excellent - I recommend their salad. The Service is always good and the decor is upscale and fairly trendy place. Not a wine drinker? They have a good selection of been and their drinks from Soju are wonderful.

I love the atmosphere of this place. It's cozy in the back rooms and comfortable in the patio area. (good for smokers) The bathroom is pretty interesting. It's a great place to lounge with friends while sipping on some wine. Their menu is pretty limited, but I'd recommend the chicken panini with hummus---and of course, cheese and crackers go well with wine too. The service isn't bad. It gets crowded later in the night. So go early to ensure seating, especially for a large group.

I usually get turned off by wine bars and their usual pretension, but this place is different. The atmosphere is New York industrial, they don't use regular wine glases, the music is more KCRW than classical, and the staff is young and friendly. Highly recommended. And make sure to check out the cool bathrooms!

Not a bad location. The only thing going for them is their food! They need to work on their service and train their employees. I was a regular customer till recently because their wait staff has no clue what he or she is doing. The owners stand around. while they should be helping their staff. Their prices are ridiculous on their wine!!! The selection of wine could be a lot better. Their menu is miss quoted. They charge for a FULL CRAFT but when they bring it to the table it's a HALF CRAFT!!!

I'm not much of a wine person...actually, not at all, but most women are and this is the perfect place to take a date. This place is very quaint and secluded from the old town clubs and bars. The music is good and the small lounge area is great to hang out, have a glass of wine, and converse. Not a meet market. Need to walk a few blocks up for that.

Quite possibly the salvation of Pasadena nightlife, Bodega is just about the best bar around- well worth the drive FROM Los Angeles for a change! Everybody there knows everybody else, so be prepared to become one of the regulars if you really want to fit in. The owners are visionary, the servers are fabulous, and the fare is sumptuous. Bodega truly is a haven for cloaked intellectuals and undiscovereed movie stars, so bring conversation- and leave the attitude at home. Everybody is somebody at Bodega!
