I am very fond of cakes and pastries and any cakes lover would sure love sheng kee. I first got a chance to eat sheng kee cake at a birthday party. The cake was too yummy with orange and cream filling and lots of fruits. It was very light and had just the right amount of sweetness. Their muffins are also great.

This is the only bakery in the Cupertino village. They have a pretty good selection of different types of bread. My favorite is the "chocolate bun", which is really a flattened pineapple bun (another type of chinese bread) with chocolate fillings. If you get there at the right time, the bread will be warm and it make them that much better.

I like the whole wheat bread loaves here. You might need to get there before 1:00pm to get them, because sometimes they sell out. They'll slice the bread for you. It's fun to try out their sweet breads as well. I have only had their little cakes, but they've been decent. It's not my first choice for cakes. They have a few sandwiches (vietnamese and ham/cheese)...but they leave them out on the counter...always makes me wonder how long they've been there and if I should worry about spoilage. In general though, I'd recommend this bakery.

Huge selection of Asian desserts, including mooncakes, cakes, custard tarts, etc. There are many Sheng Kee bakeries throughout the Bay Area so it is easy to find one.

This bakery has many chains all over the bay area. They bake many different kinds of Taiwanese style bread loafs, which contain yam, pineapple, custard, and many different interesting combinations. They also sell Chinese pastries, such as mooncakes during the mid-Autumn festival and western style cakes. I particularly liked their fresh fruit tart. Prices are comparable with Safeway. I've had better cake elsewhere, but their breads are worth a try.
