Benya Lisa Do - Malibu Medical

I went with a friend to a party at Dr. Benya's Medical Spa last week. The spa has facials, massages, steam room. treatments of all sorts. Frankly, it is a hidden little gem on Malibu Road and after living in Malibu for 20 years I thought I knew everything, but I just found out about Cure Spa. Lots of privacy and sweet efficient staff.

I've been seeing Dr. Benya for three years now (since she took over the practice) and have had nothing but extremely positive experiences with her. She's a great doctor for "regular stuff" and is always very attentive and gentle. I always find that I can get in to see her within a day. Very different from the majority of doctors in the area who are overbooked or just plain obnoxious about their criteria for booking.

The wait is always ridiculously long and when you phone her she never calls back. When asking others about her I found out ony that she has a bad reputaion. We trust so much in these doctors it should be known when this happens.

Dr. Lisa Benya is one in a million. She knowa medicine and all the latest treatments and has a wide range of expertise. Her office staff is really nice even under the pressure of phones ringing and juggling patient requests. They made me feel really comfortable. Dr. Benya is reassuring when you feel like crap.

I've been seeing Dr. Benya for about 3 years and have had nothing but great experiences with her. She is the first doctor who actually listens. Each visit she takes considerable time to fully understand and evaluate my medical problems. I haven't had a doctor who has taken as much time each visit than Dr. Benya.

Went to see her for some laser treatment on my face. It was expensive, completely ineffective and when I went back to ask her about it she was arrogant and dismissive. One of the worst doctor experiences ever!

I've been going to Dr. Benya for 2 years. She's extremely attentive, gentle and straightforward. She truly cares for and about her patients, and I'd highly recommend her. I've never had any problems with the office staff, so maybe the prior reviewer's billing issues were the exception rather than the norm.

I went to Dr. Benja for a routine check up and she spent a great deal of time listening to what I had to say and answering my questions. She is a breath of fresh air from the other doctors who always seemed to rushed to really listen to their patients.

My husband and I both decided to give Dr Benya a try for a physical...... She was a very nice doctor and very proffesional. We both liked her, and definitley would have returned until the problems with her office billing department started. Firstly they submitted our appointments to our insurance as "active diagnosis" when we clearly were there for a routine physical... we had to call the office several times to have them correct this problem with our insurance, otherwise we would have to pay something like $300 each person for the visit (physicals are covered by our insurance, active diagnoses we have to pay towads deductible) apparently they make more money for an active diagnosis than a physical.
THEN , once that was cleared up, they call us 3 months later and ask us when are we going to pay for our physical ??? The insurance covers that....... they say "what insurance?" the insurance information we gave you when we came in for our appointments....... turns out, they had already been paid by our insurance company, they are just totally disorganized. The lady also got very snippy with me, until they realized their mistake and then they were embarrased.
I like Dr Benya, but she needs new staff in her billing Dep.
