This market is getting old. It is a small store with limited selection, and the clerks are not particularly friendly or helpful. They must also have been robbed recently since there is a prominent security guard posted at the front of the small store. Shopping carts are among the dirtiest in the area.

Produce, meats and fish are priced similar to Lion, not quite as fresh, but don't get the discounted fruit/vegetables. They hide the moldy rotten parts on the bottom of the package where you can't see it. Much dirtier than Chavez Market next door, but cheaper. Parking can be difficult and the intersection at McKee is always busy. For fish, Seafood City at McKee and White is a better choice - cleaner, more variety, but for Dungeness Crab, this is one of the cheaper places in town. Selection is limited and Vietnamese markets stock differently than western, Chinese, Philippine or Mexican Markets.

Generally, if you need something quick and are in the area, stop by, but for me, If I want western vegetables, meat or fish, go to Seafood City for generally good prices and clean surroundings, I go to Lion on Saratoga, even if it is 15 minutes away by freeway). Local choices are limited since the Pak 'n Save (Safeway) and Albertsons (Lucky) formerly on McKee both shut down. Savemart at the east end of McKee is always clean with much better service although its prices are generally higher.

I don't know why the person that rated this store last said the store isn't as pretty. I remember shopping at that market before they remodeled and the remodeling made it so much nicer. Sure, it might not be the nicest looking store, but it's also been there for a long while.

I've never had received any bad merchandise from that market, everything is always so fresh in my opinion. Employees there are friendly and always willing to help you look for something if you don't know where it is so customer service is to my satisfaction and the prices are not high, so that's a great fact also.

Like the other person that reviewed it said, the market has a lot of regular's and I'm definitely one of them. I've been to a lot of the markets around them and none of them are just up to my expectations.

This is a tiny Vietnamese market that sells very sweet oranges. They are not very pretty but they taste great. The same goes for everything else in this store. But all the veggies are pretty fresh and there are lots of regulars consisting of old people that love this store.
