5 Stars: Coming from a regular... (by Aram M.)

Come september 2009, my third year of being an Equator regular will be complete. I have to say this is the best place to be whether it's at lunch, at dinner, at breakfast, or in the afterhours for live-music and a clean-crowd party.

The staff:
- They are the best people you will ever meet and they will always approach you with a smile! This is possibly the main reason why I love this place so much, but moving on to the menu.

The menu:
- An assortment of exotic entrees, extraordinary appetizers and a beautiful selection of alcohol/traditional beverages. Half-off hard liquor every monday, and wine every wednesday (might be wrong on wine). Full bar, a couple of great waiters, and one hell of a chef.

The atmosphere:
- One word, ZEN. If you are tense, having a bad day, or just tired, I promise this place will bring out the best in you. Eccentric paintings hang on the wall, soft seats with a pillow for everyone, classy "rock/pebble" tables and lighting dim enough to relax you, but no even close to restaurant dimness so it does not depress you. I would say it is traditional-asian styled. The actual building is fairly big that gives you, the customer, ease of access to any part of the structure. Bathrooms are clean as can be and full of memorabilia from mafia movies such as The Casino, the Godfather, Scarface, Sopranos and much more.

The teas:
- The tea selection at Equator is unique, and I'd say the cafe is most notable for them. I can easily say that I have had the best teas at Equator, especially the Queen of the Damned, Blood Orange, and Formosa Silvertip Oolong. Served in metal pots faithful in design to the atmosphere. Also the iced teas are just so tasty you never get enough!

I give Equator an 11 out of 10 for being such a comforting space for one to go. I have never had a boring/uncomfortable time at Equator and I promise, neither will you!

4 Stars: Coffee, Deli, Hooka and Wireless internet (by Michael S.)

This is a unique cafe' they serve various drinks, smoothies, and coffee. They also have a deli, that if you get there on a good day they might have things like: turkey, tomatoes and other things on the menu. Either way the sandwhiches are excellent and inexpensive. The atmosphere is very artistic and rustic, with various comfortable couches and chairs. Yes the music is up loud, but if its "too loud" then maybe your getting old. I have not been here for the night scene but I noticed that they offer hooka and have some tables outside. Go check it out.

PROS: Great place to relax, eat, drink and do homework.
CONS:

2 Stars: (by jennifer h.)

I haven't been here in a while but I have been plenty of times in the past. I don't really like the atmosphere there. On Friday nights they have Karaoke night where they set up a stage but the place is already SMALL as it is. It gets unbearably crowded, the music is waaay to loud for my liking, there is nowhere to sit, and the people get on my nerves. The every other coffee shop out there the prices are high so there is really nothing here that I would go back for.

3 Stars: (by Leslie F.)

I have only been to this place a couple of times. The coffee was fairly good and reasonably priced. It's more of a night spot than a regular hang-out coffee joint, though. They sometimes have live music, but it's not usually my type of thing. Also, if they're just playing the regular house music, it is usually turned up REALLY loud. It is also really dark inside. So, all-in-all, not your regular coffee joint, but I guess it's a cool night spot coffee place if that's what you are into.

5 Stars: (by Neil J.)

They tend to make their drinks overly sweet, such as the black forest mocha (it's raspberry syrup on top of an overly sweet mocha), but the ambience is great and it's a fantastic place to get work done during a weekday. Just take a pad and pencil andprove theorem after theorem. They also have wireless.
