The staff at this location are really friendly! I usually go to the gym at 5:00 am and I am always greeted with a smile, which is really nice that early in the morning. I do find, however, that the "open-ness" of this gym can be intimidating, especially when trying new equipment for the first time. All of the cardio equipment faces the weight machines, so I sometimes get the feeling that I'm being watched, which can make me a little uncomfortable when I don't know what I'm doing. Although having to pay for parking is a pain in the but, the gym is really clean and is in a great location which is big plus for me.

I have been working out at this Brand Blvd. location since Feb. The showers have been out of order since May 17th for both men and women's showers.

The workers seem to do the cleaning and dusting the same time I am there, which is between 8:45 and 10:30 am. Last week the guy had all the ceiling fans and standing fans on the wall near the treadmills turned off so he could vaccum them. I went to the front counter and made a complaint. I learned that they were all on the same circuit, but I found it to be very uncomfortable and smelling of sweat to continue to work. I left and called the main number to make a complaint, they told me to call the manager. Well the next day they had an urgent notice up stating as of 6-24-05 they would be closing for 6-8 weeks for construction. Why bother complaining now. They also do not clean the dust very well, it looks like they miss it most of the times. One time the music was not even playing and it was too quiet to work out and the girl never did get the music on. This past Wed I went to tell one of the workers there that the chin dip weight secure link was not working. He said he would be right there, yet I stayed another hour and no one checked it out.

The other issue I have with this location is the television sets are always on ESPN and they will not change the channel. The female locker room is somewhat clean most times, yet there is no place to sit down since they do not have benches and it was crowded there early in Feb and March. Since the showers broke down there was a drop in attendance.

They have very popular aerobics classes, but I never went to any of them. The treadmills are mostly working, sometimes one or two are out of order or in need of waxing. The bicylces are all in a row too with a good amount. The main reason I come here is the closeness to home and the street parking for two hours is free on Brand. This changed a few months ago with the street and sidewalk construction.

PROS: all on one level, many ab machines
CONS: showers out of order since mid May, now closed for 6-8 weeks

This gym charges a LOT but it is a very good gym. Nice and clean, lots of equipment, good variety of all the types of equipment a person could need or want. Never had any problems besides the price and I guess all gyms are so expensive?

24 Hour Fitness has lots of equipment, a variety of classes and also offers personal trainers. They have good locker rooms, a good fitness store, and TVs in front of most equipment. But it will cost you - to start up is at LEAST $200 and even adding another family member, while cheaper, is around $160 .. I would try a cheaper gym unless you just want the best of everything..

PROS: Lots of equipment, never too crowded, good customer service
CONS: PRICE

This gym facility is a okay. It is an active facility and requires paid parking at the meters. You can park for 50 cents and have an hour. The treadmills were nice and new. The gym is on one level and open. There are no real extras, but it works for a quick workout. It is on Brand Blvd. so plan accordingly with the traffic of that area. Friendly front desk people. The open non-separated areas provide to be intimidating for someone new to that gym wanting to check out the equipment, especially a girl.
