I looked for a long time for the right preschool for my daughter. I liked the environment at Growing Tree, the children were happy and played well together, nice outside area etc. Very nice overall. Thanks!

It is not like a real Montessori. It was nothing like what she has advertised. It is pretty much a home daycare.

This preschool was recommended to us by another parent and we are very happy with it. It is a small to medium size school with a good balance of learning and socializing. Our daughter adjusted quickly and has begun learning to read. There are a lot of books and Montessori materials inside and the outside play area is large with lots of things for the kids to do.

My friend and I do not recommend this school at all!! I pulled out my daughter out from this school and two months later my friend pulled out her daughter as well. The school is dirty and has nothing to do with educating children. My daughter told me that she does not want to go to this school. I asked her why, and she tells me "mommy I don't want to nap outside anymore". I've asked and the owner of the school tells me that it was because she was coughing too much and didn't want the other children to get sick. The school could have contacted me to take my daughter home, instead she would tell me that it is fine just bring her in. So does this mean that she would do this to every child who has a cold?

This family owned business has been here in Palo Alto for 19 years and my daughter attended it when it was just a daycare. Over the past ten years they have upgraded to a preschool with more of a Montessori influence. The children range from 2 to 5 years old and they can stay all day with a nap time after lunch and a more informal afternoon. The play yard is stocked with fun things for children to explore, climb on and do and the indoors has two different rooms with plenty of toys and materials and books. The food they serve is nutritious and meets the state standards for preschool menus. They are open 5 days a week from 8:00am till 5:00pm.
